Gunning for that free copy!
Thank you for the emphasis on logistics and pathfinding especially.
Thanks for the tips!
Midge robs from the manor lords to give to poors!
i discovered your channel with yours Manor Lord video. You gave really great tips ! Keep the good content coming. ( a copy would be awesome to use these tips :D )
I'm not trying to run min-maxed meta builds or anything, but it's great to hear a bit more about how things function.
Good luck getting the numbers you're after!
Honestly, nor am I, I far more enjoy just... building - but I think you can extrapolate info and get something that sits neatly in the best of both worlds!
Same here, though it is nice to understand how some of the stuff works, I have been bogged down quite a few times because my supply chains weren't working despite it looking like all made sense.
Yeah the info here is just crazy helpful since the game is so unfinished and not easy to understand right away.
Same 😂
Thank god for Midgeman, the other experts spend hours obsessing about economy and you need a slide rule to help understand, some are 4 hours long ffs.
My Lord, we have run out of shoes and our currency is now worthless.
Cobblesocks! WE NEED MORE!
Just stop exporting shoes for a little while, meanwhile you could also just send them to a new town with a mule to get back something you lack
Very important for ale. Currently granary workers will take the ale out of the tavern. You can guess what happens.
In my town i had a roundabout of granary workers and tavern workers moving barrels around.
The trick is to remove ale from the granaries and just move the ale directly from the brewery
That's a huge tip
The same applies for selling food. Gtannery workers will take the food back out from the trading post if you want to export food.
Thank you. God I can fix this.
Wow, thanks for the info
F me so that's my problem. Spent an army's cost on importing ale and it didn't work.
Your info and editing are that of someone with millions of subscribers and who has been doing this professionally for year! great stuff i love to see it! subbed
Thank you for the kind words! This is year 9 of the channel, safe to say I've learnt a thing or two along the way 🫡
Glad to see more of this. Always fun!
Hope you learnt something!
simple, well edited video that explains things perfectly!
Glad it helped!
been percolating specialized storage and how to untangle logistics, and it was as simple as keeping it linear to accommodate the pathing. great vid!
You're welcome! It took me hours to work it out myself but the moment I did I felt like I could cry 😭
Beautifully done video - thank you for all the tips!
You are so welcome!
Great video! Love the visuals you did, simple labels but smoothly animated.
Thank you so much!
Love the freaking edit and love the contents so much! Hope you get more subscribers man!
Thanks a ton!
This was the guide I been looking for, thank you!
Glad I could help!
best set up explanation video by far plus clear presentation, easy to digest. you got my sub👍🏻
Thank you! I'm glad it helped!!
This will be a superior channel based on what I’ve seen out there. New subscriber and look forward to more detailed vids. ⭐️
Welcome aboard!
Getting to know the proper work-flow to a game like this is always Helpful, Thank you!
You're welcome!
Great video content, and well presented. Will definitely be checking out more videos!
Thanks!
Great vid. Entertaining and enlightening. :)
Best video hands down on this topic.
I was building one central location for storage and markets, then industry building around there and artisans around there too. It seemed clunky but I thought have them all close together.
Don’t realise you could limit what’s stored and then locally store products close to the source.
Do you still have a granary and storage house near market accepting everything or do you untick products that are being stored at the start of the supply chain?
By the time the late game hits absolutely, yes I do keep storage near the market
Very helpful. Thanks!
You're welcome!
Wow! More great tips from a very clever boy!
I'm a clever boy
@@Midgeman Yes you are! Such a clever boy!
This is the first video I'm saving to my Manor Lords education list
Eyyy! lets go!
This was the video ive been waiting for ty
Nice glad to hear it
You have a nice calm voice and a good way to explain how game mecanics works. Good job
Thanks! My dulcet nasally English tones come in handy sometimes!
Sweet, thanks for creating this gem
No problem!
I like min-maxing, but holy crap! This felt like a thesis and I'm loving it.
Great content, Midgetman!
Thanks!
Really nice video. I can see now all the mistakes i did. Especially in termes of logistic form raw products to final goods in markets stalls.
Glad you learnt something!
Already have a copy but thank you for the video was super helpful! You deserve the views/subs!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great content, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
@@Midgeman You've been doing, frankly, the best Manor Lords coverage I've seen so far!
Excellent tips!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you found the tips helpful.
Playing Manor Lords and enjoying your tutorial videos. Thx and greetings from Ukraine!
You pretty much do what i do (incl the two vege plots and the extra ox at the start) so im glad im vindicated by you in your videos, explains alot why i watch them also,i think you go over board on some supply as start game mechanics its hard to plan for such large endeavors later on and have that space to expand, the start is so hard as you have to spend time mapping and roading out your new town, btw appreciate the time you take to make these fantastic instructional videos.
Great video lots of great tips
Glad it was helpful!
This game had a steep learning curve for me, so I really appreciate these videos. Just subscribed! Slide me one of those game keys whenever you're ready, lol

Please do!
Thanks for the tipps
You're welcome! I'm glad you found the tips helpful.
Great tips!
Glad you think so!
One thing i've learned for sure playing Manor Lords is that it needs more time. I'll come back to it in 4-6 months , fun game but for now it is a bit too buggy currently ,things resetting etc.
Amazing work for one solo developer. A bit pricy for a solo developer game to be honest , but people are thirsty for promising medieval games and are ready to pay.
That's a fair comment. I can really feel the passion for it so I know this time next year it's going to feel so good
Fully agreed with you. Really expensive given the game is realistically not even 50% done. Also the developer is reluctant to hiring help so I'm worried the game evolution, quality of life updates and balancing will take time.
Theres mods for it that fixed some of the bugs btw.
@@tonygarcia2591 I haven't looked into it yet but yes I think I'll rely on the community if I want to keep playing it for now
Too pricy? Are u dumb?
Well done!😀
Thankyou
Really great video. Really great game. Enjoying it so much so far even with the bugs.
So am I! Honestly its like a dream come true for me
hell yeah Midgeman! Jolly splendid eyeball content if i do say so myself. Take care old chap!
thank you old bean!
earned a sub my dude.
So what I'm hearing is, you gotta get ya farmin' on. 11/10 thank you for the indepth guide, we do love to see OG Midgeman uploads!
Tldr pathing is everything
That's something I learned as well. Bartering is not really powerful right now (or I haven't figured it out) so strong farming in your starting region is so critical in getting everything you need. This is especially true as a hard trading city as your first doesn't work as high demand means the prices of the goods you're importing without farming (ex. malt) becomes prohibitively expensive.
@@breese50wtf are you talking about. most of areas i start in have bad yield. played a few runs and often got rich iron deposit. focused on that. sold tools, weapons for good price in mid game and bought everything i need.
@@viaze3622 I rolled until I found a single rich resource deposit area (which means you get good yield). My second run I went heavy smithing and I certainly made great money but damn malt and other resources (like food) gets real expensive when you're importing a lot of it.?
I'm not saying it's not viable, but I am saying that I've found a mix agriculture method to work well.
it's me or @foxtea_ so cute
Brand new to the game, would love a free copy to keep(using gamepass version for now) & loving it! This video is broken down very well, thanks!
Good luck!
Good job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Good video, earned a sub
Welcome aboard!
Thanks for this vids😊
My pleasure!
Outstanding.
Standouting!
I have two hiccups.
How to convince people that harvesting berries is more important than manning an empty stall.
And how to tell the tradesman to stop hoarding all the stuff I bought. Everyone's starving and the trading post has a bajillion foodstuffs.
You need to fill your storehouse with workers because they carry more shit than the workers you assign for you wood and everything else also about your stall problem just destroy their stalls or tell your workers to fk themselves command them
Sounds like a logistic problem. You need a lot of stores and storeworkers near the trading post if you trade heavily. But this doesnt solve the problem allways. My storage workers refuse to fetch the carots from the houses. Even stores full of workers and only for carots - nope, they handle carots like hot stones: never touch it.
Yeah prep your logisitics!
@@silsternensanddo you mean a storehouse or granary?
@@thecurrentmoment for your food imports you need granery buildings near your trading post. The granery workers should fetch the food from the trading post and store it in the granery. Then they should build automatically some market stalls on your market. With a "normal" granery near your market for your food from own food production and a "trading post" granery you double the amount of offered food on the market. But there is a point: the trading post granery workers also fetch food from your own food production. So make sure to set the working area for the trading post granery over the trading post. This shoud avoid that workers run from one side of the map to the other.
Just playing this yesterday and already fall in love with it..
I will try the shoe economy.. by the way how to achive maximum population?
Great video and even better commentary😂
Thanks 😅
well done!
Thanks!
thanks for the video minge man
More like mingeless man
Geat vid, thanks!
You mentioned specializing trade posts for imports and exports. I tried that, but all trade posts seem fully linked. Enabling import of a resource on one also enables it on all of them. Am I missing something?
Sadly not, but if you're lucky enough to get a region with two import export locations, the game naturally assigns one for import one for exxport if you place one at each of the locations
Can't wait for the full release of the game. Been a long time I have been invested in any type of building simulator.
Honestly same
Have you played around with berry harvest timing? I have found if I put 4 families on the forager hut at the start of March and take all but one off at the start of June I can gather +350 plus berries a season. When the berries are growing and with 4 families the berries never run out until they stop growing. That and three big veg plots are enough to get me to level three. Then it’s apples or farming. Apples are so easy if you invest early. No micromanaging.
Thats insane. Ill look into it! I havent touched apples since the press build as there was a bug where noone would eat them!
@@Midgeman Ill have to pay more attention to the apples and see if they actually eat them. Thanks!
thank you, very helpfull
Glad it was helpful!
thank you!
Youre Welcome
loved the video any tips on what to trade for maximum $$
Trade is in need of a balance right now, due to an overactive global supply - but my go to currently is leather and linen!
thanks. your farming tips were spot on... I adjusted my brewing chain and its finally flowing.. what a bunch of pissheads medeival peeps were...
Focusing basically only on Vegetable farms feels slightly OP. I’ve limited myself to 100 families and have 140 Months of food storage right now…….lol
Pro tip, if your food stores ever get out of hand, just go to the Tithe option in your Manor and set it to 100%. This will send away ALL of your food lol. Super worth it to free up Granary space.
Great tip about the tithing
I haven't taken the dive into this one yet. Just watching a lot of vids to see if it's my type of game. Really looks like it is!
Report back if you decide to pick it up!
@@Midgeman Oh for sure!
On normal difficulty the upgraded tent doesn´t affect approval if you do it asap when you start the game, furthermore those 5 families only eat 1 food per month, they will work normally. That means you can have your first family in April moving in and doing .... important stuff.
Good tip
Fun Fact - You can fit 2 mines on each resource so with deep mines you can have 2x ore production for Clay/Iron
I have seen 3
Ive tested for 3 - can confirm it works
@@Midgeman Logically, it should be 4, as you can physically place up to 4 large square objects over a round spot.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Great Tips !~ smash that like
SMASH IT
ive found its quite easy to just start importing all the barley flax and even adding some malt once you have some profitable exports like wood shields beer, major shoutout to flour, you can import grain for two a single family can easily refine couple hundred threshed grain into flour for a 50% markup!
~Thats a cool little economy youve got there!
How does designating work area for a warehouse (granary) work? Does it limit the area from which they collect products, or to which they are distributed, or both?
About farms. Get Oxen upgraid. Build as many farm houses as you have fields that you work in a year. Once a year when its plawing time. Add to each farmhouse dedicated ox. Wait Untill plowing is done. Remove oxes. Add max amount familyes you can(remove from logging or mining) To plant. Remove after planting is done. Add families back for gathering. leave 2 familyes to "craft" grain. get mill full. untill they mill all the stuff. Or get multiple full mills. You dont need have families doing stuff there for long. It is SEASONAL work. So get as much people to do job as fast as poccible and forget about it for the year.
Helpful tips!
I have picked up a few tricks from you and going to try them out before my $1 2 week access runs out to manor lords.
Solid plan
I have a question. My specialty houses like the brewhouse, also need goods from the market. Setting them in the industry area puts them too far away from the market. If I create a market nearby and move stalls there, sometimes those stalls are just abandoned, and then I cannot upgrade those houses to become artisan houses. How do I handle this?
Make sure your specialty buildings are around you main, central market
I have gotten more Manor Lords content. Now what I want is a drink.
Its five o clock somewhere.
What you gunna drink?
@@Midgeman Haven't decided yet. We shall see
Still figuring out the logistics side of things. A big problem was with my trade post not emptying its raw imported goods out soon enough. Even when I had granary and storehouse workers assigned nearby, they wouldn't go in!
That sounds rough!
Ive probably watched 10 hours of Manor Lords YT videos, but still haven't pulled the trigger on getting it :D
I respect a sensible buyer
If you have access to PC Game Pass, it’s available on there as part of the subscription.
Worth it for just a month (especially if you can get a Promotional price for the subscription).
Honestly worth it, it’s a very chill town builder and good when you don’t know what to play or don’t want to play a reaction focussed game. But it is a bit empty rn
What settings do u use to be able to use the trade option.? No matter what i do, the game says it's blocked for me, because of the settings. 😢
Huh... interesting i'm not sure what you mean!
that outro was funny as!
Wait to you see the intro for todays video!
Would you recommend playing Furthest Frontier or Ostriv in the meantime waiting for ML updates?
I've not played either, so I can't help you there!
Banished was my game. I hope this one is just as good when finished.
See I sadly missed out on Banished because I was way too deep into my RimWorld fixation
Anyone know about the victory screen and then it will not play in sandbox bug?
Its a known bug and is being looked into!
Be sure that when you create your sandbox in the settings, go into customize it and change the end goal to endless/none instead of town growth or whatever the option for your goal is. It should be the first option when you go to customize that particular game. If you change it to endless or no goal then the victory screen won’t come up and you can play sandbox indefinitely
Only thing I'll add is that the market stalls actually need to be as close to the granary & storehouse as possible in this current build as our citizens do not actually go shopping. The distance from the burgage plots does not matter. The ability to refill the stalls quickly, however, does.
Ive done some testing between market and storage location. The most important thing ive noticed is making sure the market is populated by families running logistics rather than those on an industry itself, placement is neither here nor there atm
This game is amazing 😍
It's a joy to play
In the currently state of the game, the issue with dedicated storage is that you can really really mess with your market in a way that you have tons of food, clothing and fuel "reserved" not being placed in the damn market stalls!
Just heard that new patch maybe fixed this issue. I'm looking forward to test it out!
Yes. Please give me a copied. Tried many city building simulations, this one seems more intriguing than the others.
@4:37 you say 3 Oxen but, the graphic shows 4. Which one is correct? (Asking for a friend 😉)
3, the 4th symbolized any oxen that aren't being utilized!
@@Midgeman Got it, btw first time that I've seen your vids, will definitely be checking out more.
bandits keep stealing my hides.
Better go stop them
We absolutely need mutton and chicken added at some point for a stable source of meat. I completely gave up with my hunters as the perk points spent on a tiny amount of meat and hides that can come from goats felt completely wasted. Goats milk could also be an interesting food chain supplying milk and later cheese. Food variety seems to be the biggest problem I run into once my town reaches a certain population.
At the moment neither chicken nor goats generate meat. Chicken produce eggs. Goats produce hide.
@@silsternensand Yeah they both need to produce a second resource to support the food variety demand. Hunting / meat alone is not enough.
Yeah I agree!
nice voice, keep up the good work
Thank you for the compliment!
ive found out you can build two iron mines on the same nod(same with clay) no idea if that means you get double the iron(clay) or not
Interesting! I'll test it!
I don't know if it's just my save, but setting Storehouse or Granary to only allow certain goods doesn't seem to actually work. I'm on the Gamepass build though so maybe it's behind
Interesting! Id recommend heading over to the ML discord and reporting that because that sounds like a frustrating bug
@@MidgemanI tried to fetch my carots from houses with granary only for carots. Didnt work. They refused to empty house pantries.
Dear Lords, is it possible to just focus on one type of industry and sustain it and expand your city and all that? i.e. just building clothes or military stuff and live from that?
If you tech into the trade branch, absolutely
How does this factor in travel time from burbage to working space?
It doesnt, the there will always be some level of walking required, but ive noticed the resting cycles are few and far between compared to work so its better to worry about the production itself
Don't let your storehouses take malt, or your granary ale. I noticed those are on by default, but kindof messes up the supply chain. and has people walking back and forth.
Thats why I have a dedicated store right next to the inn itself
vegetables > farms
Trueeeee
Ah, the conflict of wanting maximum results and making neat historical villages
Forever a problem
They should add some kind of pvp somehow like everyone gets one area and can alliance or go to war and stuff
You can set a work area for farm houses. So you can split what fields your farm houses focus on.
Have I been blind this whole time, I was looking for that!
LEGITIMATELY Ive been sat there making guides like "theres got to be a way"
@@Midgeman Just double checked, because I wasn't sure if that was something that had changed. In the advanced section there is a work area on the farm house
@@mattlievens3573 legend. Certified legend. I think it wasn't in a previous build and my brain has avoided looking since
Please send a copy. Ive been waiting for this game for soo loonnnggg.
Pinned comment!
Im always super short on workers. I even started making houses without back yards just to get more workers and I rarely can have more than one person in a site.
You'll have to make smaller plots just for this reason some of the time! Rememeber double plots and tier 3 plots also add more living space
