- In this video I take a Hot Wheels Ford Ranchero and turn it from cheesy to classy stock.
This was a pretty simple custom consisting of some fresh new wheels, a custom made window and retro paint job.

Thanks! Yeah I uhm'd and ahh'd for awhile about what to do with this one, once I dug through my bag of wheels and tried those on it it all started to come together.

Beautiful build...but it also scared me. I’m scared that we have some kind of psychic connection 😂. As I was watching the start of the video, I thought to myself “someone should do one with a bed cover like I had on my old ‘65 El Camino”...and seconds later, you’re doing the bed cover. Next you paint the car and, sure enough, it’s darn close to the color of my car 😳. If you had painted that bed cover white like mine (which although the car is long gone, the white fiberglass bed cover is still in the rafters of the garage here), I would have freaked out 😂. Excellent job again my friend! (But then you probably already knew I was thinking that 😂)

I was going to paint the bed cover in satin black but decided to leave it the same colour, though thinking about it white would look really sweet with the colour.
You're dead on with the Ranchero ! The color screams 70s Ford product ! The wheels and bed cover are perfect ! As usual, well done ! 🍻

A sharp casting to begin with..
You sure love the metallic paint.. Try a deep purple.. Or flaming orange.. Naw.. I love them all regardless the coloring.
The windshield is nice. But those "Steelies" are killer!

Yeah sadly that's the limitations of using automotive paints, mostly its all metallics and 50% of them are some shade of silver.
I really hope to invest in an airbrush next year so I can go about mixing my own colours and use more colours.
I do have a couple of simple colours like yellow and red but haven't had a custom I felt needed them yet :P

I had a 72 Gran Torino as well, my 3rd or 4th car, paint was flaking off, the vinyl roof was peeling and the interior was plain-jane stock...but dang that thing could move with the 351 Windsor engine. Eventually sold it to a teenager who painted it rattle can flat black and drove the snot out of it around town...I miss that car. 😭😞
Mine was a hand me down. Mom bought it brand new when I was six. Let go of it in the early nineties. Frame had rotted. That same summer Ford started making replacement parts again. Losing that car was like losing a family member.

The Classic dog dish hubcaps...
Needed to be done :D it's great putting blingy cragars on this but sometimes I just want to do a nice stock look and these hubcaps fit the bill!

I liked it better before. 😄😄😄 LOL! I'm sorry, I just had to say that. The trolls have taught me to have a twisted sense of humor. That's a gorgeous cruck, or tar, however you wanna mix up the truck car thing. The wheel choice is schweeeeet and the color and bed cover was exactly what it needed. 👍
