For me distance motivates me the most. I'm 14 and I ran my first half marathon in February and I got 1 hr 57 and I ran the furthest I have ever ran in March, I ran 15 miles. I started running at the beginning of last year and the running channel has helped me so much with techniques and tips.
You shouldn’t be running more than 12 miles at a time under the age of 18 on a regular basis. There have been extensive studies on the detriment this long distance running can have in developing bodies. So be careful.
Coolest 14 hear old ever! Keep up the great work, and just remember to focus on recovery as much as activity. As you get older, this will become the line between running being a lifestyle change or just a phase.
I love how you can make running in a city look like so much fun! I recently moved away from my trusty trails and I‘m still adjusting to stopping at traffic lights and passing pedestrians. Maybe I really need a Garmin to plan out fun routes 👀
I started watching your channel at the beginning of the year, and it has pushed me to finally start running again after a bit of a lazy Christmas! I think that distance motivates me the most, and I will be running the Bath Marathon in the tunnels this year (my first marathon - I hope it goes well!), and I would love to run with anyone in your team. I don't know how you stay so cheery and keep on smiling - maybe I could learn some tricks from you!
I'm definitely a "time" runner! Fair, when I'm racing I naturally enjoy seeing how fast I can cover the distance, but during training I've found it so much easier mentally to 1. get out the door and 2. pace myself appropriately if I focus on the time. When I knew I had to run 8k, I'd push too fast at the beginning wanting to get it over with, and the full distance sounded really daunting at the start. Now, if I know I'll be out for 45 minutes, I am so much better at starting more conservatively and pushing faster towards the end. I love these videos in London, showing so many roads I've run on! Keep it coming!
Sarah definitely had the higher pace but the direction she chose has the most horrendous sets of traffic lights in the whole of Central London. That's what cost her the win.
Nice video! I ran across London for my Virtual London Marathon, it's definately a challenge with the road crossing and people everywhere. Lovely stuff and a cracking little garmin watch.
Haha love Sarah's facials when that hail was coming down 😂 I've been at the top of an exposed hill during a sideways hail storm before - man that burned!! Thanks for showing some more features of the Garmin watches. I've had one for about 3 years and still only use the super basic features. Will have to sit down and learn some more 😊
I'm new to running so not sure I'd want to race against anyone in this challenge, but you're definitely inspiring me to keep it up! My first ever 10k is on Sunday, ahhh!
I just ran this morning for the first time in 8 weeks due to an injury and it's funny because I ran 6 miles in about 58 minutes today on this beautiful morning and then I see this upload come across my phone. Funny thing is that's not the first time this happened because your videos are always so relevant, they help keep me going when things get tough sometimes!!
That is such a fun challenge! Would've taken the eastward route myself, just because it feels it is straighter all the way out of London. Fantastic job both - and fingers crossed for the watch - it looks amazing!
@@runningchannel No, but one day I'd love to. I'm currently in South Carolina, USA, just a couple of miles away from you guys 🙂. I've done city runs in France, Mexico, Netherlands before, a lot of fun, very enjoyable to me.
Brilliant challenge and video guys, I would have to race my old uni pal Susan. Both of us have taken up running fairly recently but have never ran together as we live 100s of miles apart. Can't wait to see your next challenge!
Haha....what a fun challenge. I definitely need to explore the course/route planning feature on the Garmin 😊 I'd like to do this challenge with my Mum. She's not a runner but I feel like she'll do quite well. She's one of those people who does well at whatever she puts her mind to.
Love these challenges, Anna was my inspiration to enter my first marathon, Edinburgh marathon I'm coming for you, keep them coming guys, loving the podcasts on my long runs
With that sunshine and dry weather I am Team Mo! But I'll be channeling Sarah's out loud motivation for more first half marathon next week. Run the mile you're in!
I am a new runner and feel really inspired by Sarah’s prepatation video’s for her last marathon, so i would race (and lose) against her :) Love those new screens.
Should have done this in the states, I'm sure there would be plenty of straight line options there! Anyway, from the way the footage was edited I was surprised that it was so close! Mo looked to be miles ahead at all times. I'm always leaning a bit team Mo, but this pair-up with Sarah is a hard one. You're both just so likeable! Lovely vid as always, and I'll take my new forerunner 695 now please ;)
I love the idea of this. Needing to take everything into account when planning the route. I'd love to race Mo in this. And distance motivates me more than time does.
Love watching you guys! Sarah would be a great person to compete against just solely on how much your pace and time has improved over her first appearance on the channel it would be a great challenge to push myself.
Honeslty, im currently training for my first ever half marathon in may. Your guys' channel has actually helped me accumulate a lot of running knowledge over the years, I've been running for around 2 years now, maybe around 1 year consistantly though. And honeslty I would love to do this challenge with my brother, him and I run together a lot so it would be a great little challenege with us.
Nice challenge! Thanks for the tip about route planning on Garmin Connect too. I hadn't noticed that function before. No idea who I'd like to do a challenge with, maybe Rick?
Sarahs pace seems pretty similar to mine - decent challenge. Keep up the content. My biggest motivation is sometimes time, sometimes distance - but nature and the surroundings I find myself in along the way can also be such a huge motivator to keep pushing.
Your challenges are always so much fun to watch and they inspire me so much. I wish I had friends who would do one of your challenges with me because that would be so much fun!
Another awesome challenge! That hail looked crazy but you powered through. I would choose Andy to race against as I think we are similar heights :D Keep up the awesome work TRC!
This was a great idea, especially in a city as twisty, turny, and trafficky as London! Great job to you both, it looked like tons of fun (minus the hail)!
Distance definitely motivates me. I would be able to run 10 km in an hour but in London probably 8 km. I cannot chose who I would do the challenge with. Everyone has done so well and I love seeing everyone on the channel grow. What a fun challenge and the watch looks great for planning new runs.
Great challenge. I’m for Sarah as I’m running my first marathon in London next weekend and have followed her progress training for her first. Great content.
I started running about a year ago and your videos really motivate me to go out for a run. I was so happy when I saw you are making a podcast too! I don't think I would have any chance in this competition, it would be really cool to take part though
Great challenge guys! Seeing all those traffic light stoppages makes me grateful for not living in central London, the quiet roads in the early morning are much more appealing in Wolverhampton!
You remind me running is fun! Awesome stuff. Would love to race against James, he’ll know the best coffee stops. I’m motivated by the adventure, distance and time are secondary
I am Team Running Channel!! I love these videos and cheer for both of you. I also love the peeks into the upcoming technology. I need a new Garmin and struggling to commit :0 This race was so much fun to watch, thank you!
Looking at the video I wouldn't want to race either of you 😂but especially a race to plot an hours route on Garmin connect...3 minutes including syncing is insane! Well done though, great video
Love these challenges and love you presenters... you make such great shows and are all so committed and willing to give us all fantastic insights to the running world, equipment, training and all that... and that usually mixed with great humour. Keep up the good work. Would love to try a top garmin model, as I am using the forerunner 45...
Great stuff guys! Love the channel. Doing my first marathon on Sunday and the channel has been a brilliant source of training and inspiration etc so thank you all. Would love a chance to race against Sarah! And the new Garmin 965 looks amazing!
Great job 😂 This challenge just makes me realise how I don’t only not like driving in London. I wouldn’t want to run in London 😅 I love the forests, trails, mountains and beaches….
I found the running channel years ago when I was looking for inspiration to start running and they really motivate you with challenge videos demonstrating that running is fun :) I would love to run against Sarah! Im team Sarah from day one and see her growth it’s so inspiring! I love you guys
Love the challenges! Must say, as a new runner I’d have to go up against Rick to stand ANY chance 😂 The display on that 965 is sweet!! keep the great content coming!
running a 10k race in a couple of weeks, always come back to your videos to give me inspiration before a run! Haven't got to the end but I'm backing Mo so far
I love this channel because it motivates me to achieve goals with creative workouts or challenges like this! This Garmin feature just opens so many possibilities 😎
Great challenge with a twist! Really fun to watch! You guys are so inspiring and with my 5K race coming up in a few weeks I’m just binging all of your videos together, thank you!
Great video! I recently completed my second half marathon and pace pro would’ve been so helpful (but not available on my old garmin)! I’ve been looking to upgrade but there is so much choice!
New viewer here! Love all these videos - really inspiring me to sign up for my first half mara this year. I'd love to do this challenge with my sister! Fingers crossed for a beautiful Garmin watch
Love this! I'd like to race against my two pals I run with weekly. We started training for the Great North Run together this time last year and have kept up our weekly long runs/parkruns and training sessions ever since. We've got the running bug and are currently a few weeks out of the Gateshead half marathon.
Loved this challenge! This would be a fun one to try with my XC teammates. Or even just on my own to see how far I could go! Keep it up running channel!
I absolutely love this challenge, the Garmin watch looks fantastic especially the map feature, I'd love to do this challenge with both Sarah and Mo. I loved how Sarah used the pace pro feature, that is a genius plan.
How far do you think you could get in 1 hour?
Where I live I could get 6 or 7 miles in.
Where I am currently located... maybe 6 miles.
9km😊
12 k
5/6 miles at a push
I’ve been watching sarah progress through her running and she is a machine, she has improved so much since joining the channel
Sarah is such a vibe - looks such a fun person to be around
For me distance motivates me the most. I'm 14 and I ran my first half marathon in February and I got 1 hr 57 and I ran the furthest I have ever ran in March, I ran 15 miles. I started running at the beginning of last year and the running channel has helped me so much with techniques and tips.

I love how you can make running in a city look like so much fun! I recently moved away from my trusty trails and I‘m still adjusting to stopping at traffic lights and passing pedestrians. Maybe I really need a Garmin to plan out fun routes 👀
the trick is to pretend youre being chased, and you have to worm your way through the pedestrain crowds
I started watching your channel at the beginning of the year, and it has pushed me to finally start running again after a bit of a lazy Christmas! I love these challenges. Additionally, Sarah and Mo look so smooth in their running. Great job!
just mo runs smoothly. It's a running channel for beginners.
Well done to both of you! Can't lie, I was on team Sarah because her commentary and expressions are so funny 😂😂
Impressed with Sarah’s efficiency! Don’t know who I’d choose to take on, though - I think MO’s pace can overcome a lot in the challenges.
Love these challenges, the look on Sarah's face when she realised Mo probably didn't get hailed on... golden
Wait, I recognise your name from Citystrides, aren't you the guy running all streets in Ghent?
@@mpunt6593 Yes
Haha love Sarah's facials when that hail was coming down 😂 I've been at the top of an exposed hill during a sideways hail storm before - man that burned!!

Love these challenge videos! Sarah getting hit with hail while Mo just had a lovely run in the dry is hilarious

You guys are sooooooo inspirational and entertaining. Running in the city is so much fun! Keep it up guys.🏃♀🏃
Thanks! Do you run in London?

such cool features! this was such a fun video, and it’s cool to see the ways different runners power through challenges.
Team Sarah what a great challenge. I love these sort of challenges. Can’t wait too see what you come up with next. My best distance in an hour is 11k.
Great filming, presenting, and editing. That was really fun to watch!
Love these challenges. Rooting for both of you 💪🏾 but Sarah just a little bit more 😅
So amazing to see you guys loving running around London! I love running in central on a Sunday when it’s quiet!
Love these challenges, Anna was my inspiration to enter my first marathon, Edinburgh marathon I'm coming for you, keep them coming guys, loving the podcasts on my long runs

Oooo good tactics!

I’d like to race against the bikerider/cameraman who almost falls of his bike at @3:24 😬
I love the idea of this. Needing to take everything into account when planning the route. I'd love to race Mo in this. And distance motivates me more than time does.
Love watching you guys! Sarah would be a great person to compete against just solely on how much your pace and time has improved over her first appearance on the channel it would be a great challenge to push myself.
Love the challenges. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be much of a challenge for any of you. Keep up the good work.
Love this and love my Garmin 945! I'd like to race against Mo, seems like he'd push the pace but have fun doing it! Love the channel!

This is class. Definitely on team Sarah going forward
I’ve just got a second hand Garmin and this new one looks incredible
New to running and I’m hooked on this channel!! I’m rooting for you both. Big ups to Mo for running during Ramadan!
Distance definitely motivates me. I would be able to run 10 km in an hour but in London probably 8 km. I cannot chose who I would do the challenge with. Everyone has done so well and I love seeing everyone on the channel grow. What a fun challenge and the watch looks great for planning new runs.

Fun challenge! And it was great seeing the obstacles you have to go through during your London runs (I was not expecting the hail!).
In the UK we can have hail almost year round!

Way to go, both of you! I'm not a fast runner, but love even going my slow pace :)
I absolutely love this challenge, the Garmin watch looks fantastic especially the map feature, I'd love to do this challenge with both Sarah and Mo. I loved how Sarah used the pace pro feature, that is a genius plan.
Great video! Deffo wetted the appetite for London Marathon
Another great challenge and video, well done guys! I would love to do one of these challenges with Mo, even though he would destroy me!
This was brilliant!!! I would defo do this with Karen Stamps my work runner....she motivates me and keeps me going x
Loving these challenges. I would love to race my daughter, age against beauty. Keep up the great work guys
Very fun video! You guys are awesome!
Well done guys - enjoyed that race a lot
