I suppose breaking wax is a "gamble" but if you're going to break wax you would be better off by far breaking cases than a box, because at least with cases you get the case hits and numerous box hits etc so you're guaranteed higher-end cards you're not guaranteed if you broke a box or two.... I mean I pretty much exclusively do hockey myself and when it comes to Upper Deck - I do have some issues with them, but value per box isn't one of them - so when I break hockey I'm confident I'm going to get what I paid out of it, but most of the time I usually do pretty well... So at least to me it's not a gamble - not only that but the "breaking experience" itself is worth a few bucks alone.

Neither seem to know that the Garnett Rookie only came in series one, there was only a veteran/rookie insert of garnett in series two & its just not that valuable.

That Topps Finest box smells of a searched box. Outside of Barkley, Rodman, and the Magic, there weren't even any all-stars in the entire box -- no Payton, Miller, MJ, Pippen, Shaq, Kemp, etc. -- very odd.

I paid $1,500 on Ebay... I sent the card into PSA and it came back graded a Gem mint 10.... I’m listening to offers... and will sell for the RIGHT PRICE... it’s #1... I love #1 cards.... I will be listing it on ebay probably in August or early September.. or like I said I’d sell it now for the right price.... Love your videos.

The mystery refractors peeled off easy peasy back in the day. I hit 2 borderless Shaq and Jordan back in the day. I still have one each I think in my collection. The reg. Mystery were orange in color. The Borderless were blue in color from what I remember.
From the many videos on RUclips opening old wax (including the 1988 Fleer PSA reveal last week), it really shows that it's best to keep these old boxes sealed. It's a different story with the new sports cards though because there are waaay more hits in the ultra modern boxes.. Awesome video regardless as always! :)

1980 o pee chee hockey( Gretzky 2nd year, Messier rookie) had scratch off pucks in the bottom corner that revealed the name of the player. I believe they go for alot more unscratched)... maybe those black film cards are the same....edit: sure enough with the coating left on, worth much more on PSA
