One reason to buy more Kobes is unlike the living legends, Kobe isn't going to say anything controversial that will take away from his popularity. D Wade just said people hated Miami's big 3 because they were black? Kareem went all out attacking unvaccinated players? players get arrested, demand trades and do all kinds of things that can ruin or devalue their name from here on out. Kobe will hold value as long as this hobby exists.

In the modern age, that's no longer actually true... an old deleted tweet that someone randomly found a screenshot of, women start coming out saying they were sexually assualted (particularly relevent here) or he was cheating on his wife for years, etc... all those things are possible now-a-days.
I persoanlly like Kobe and he is most likely "safer" than a majority of professional atheletes who are still alive, but playing a bit of devil's advocate here, in that your argument isn't actually correct.
I certainly wouldn't let the fact that he's dead be a deciding factor in buying a Kobe card, which is essientially what you're saying. Or any card for that matter.
One reason I don’t invest in Lebron is because I am not a fan of his political views and how he acts. I will only buy him if it’s a no-brainer.

Vince is way underrated. Love that card! His stock would be way different if he had played in one spot like Kobe or Dirk.

Wait... That 2017 Fleer Spider Man Gold at 5:16 has an "Mike Baker Authenticated" sticker on it... explain to me how a 1/1 is being rated as "in the top X% of the cards", when the card itself is 100% of the cards that exist?

I recently bought a 1996 ultra PSA 8 Kobe rookie for 50 bucks! Pretty happy with it and I'll be looking for more Jordan and Kobe cards! This was my first Kobe rookie.

@Ozsportscard 2 wow. Didn't know it had lost That much value recently. Im not going to lie, I appreciate him making the deals & content but what I don't like is the gall of the seller to say that, on camera, whilst him knowing very well why the card could be knocked down.
Ofcourse you can highlight positives & potential but hiding an obvious flaw seems dishonest. Imagine if SCI didn't turn the card round, the guy would've kept quiet about the back.
@Ozsportscard 2 oh totally agree he's overpaying a lot. 99% of all cards will likely continue to go down for quite some time. There's no reason for most cards to turn around and go back up
Whoever can start a national card show tour that goes from big city to big city, every couple weeks in a new city,, is going to be the next king of sports cards..

What about centering on older cards? For example a 1948 leaf Babe Ruth card. Since cutting the cards back then was not as easy to get a great centered card, so does it matter as much on older cards?

So I used to collect cards when I was a kid for fun (not knowing why some people collected). I Stuck them in binders and whatnot, as I got older I gave up the hobby. Now I’m older and seeing cards true value I’m getting back into the card collecting, I don’t even know where to begin. I don’t understand how to even value cards or what cards are worth and what to collect. I’ve tried watching RUclips videos and gained some knowledge. But if anyone has any tips or any good suggestions please let me know! For example I have cards that aren’t on eBay and in my mind I think are valuable but I don’t know how to “value” them.

Man you're overpaying on a lot of these cards in every video. Yea cards are cheaper now vs. last year but that's because they were never worth anywhere near what they were selling for. Most big cards will likely continue to go down you're better off just hanging out on the sidelines and buying back in down the road you would likely save a lot.
