But still this was Miami based on Scarface .. all 80's stuff.. kinda seems wrong to me that they had gps ... Also San Andreas is in 92.. so gps seems odd in there too.. but hey it's just a minor detail.. not really f***ING up theExperience of the game.. the problems are other stuff

As someone who grew up with the original, I'm extremely impressed with the definitive edition. Its not perfect, the original definitely has aspects that were better, but everything just looks so damn good. Its so jarring when I switch to GTA 5 because Vice City's colors really pop and look absolutely gorgeous, especially during sunset/night with all the neon lights. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with either version of Vice city, they both have their own charm.

A billion dollar company is a company that is worth 1 billion dollars, a multi-billion dollar company is any company having a 2 billion dollars worth or more, hence having "Multi" in the word. Rockstar is worth at least 3.5 billion dollars, so that is not a billion dollars. A billion dollars literally means 1 billion dollars. At least know the word first before counter-claiming someone about it.

The facial expressions in the remastered somehow worse than the 20 years old game. Look closely at Tommy's expressions in 9:10 and you'll see what I mean. His eyes were moving in the original version, making his facial expresions more realistic while it were fixed awkwardly in place in the remastered. And his jean is somehow look more realistic and detailed in the original.
I do kinda like his eyebrow movement in that scene, in the new version. But I see what you mean. His eyes did have better movement before than they do now.

Maybe it's the lore that Tommy and Claude can't really swim
This is literally the old games recreated line by line in unreal, so barely anything should be different aside from the things they improved on or glitches caused by renderware mismatching with unreal

The best part is the grass is 3d and the bushes have updated textures
And they have collision effects
But I don't prefer both the versions

And the explosion does have some improvements with the burn marks, but other than that its just basically Vice City retextured.

I really wish that GTA 6 developers will watch evolution videos by ENXGMA, You (Blaze 92), Black pot and Betaz. Maybe then GTA 6 would be near perfect as you all guys do really good comparisons and also give ideas about how little things can be changed to make it more realistic.

They don't need any of these videos, lol. GTA V is still exellent on details, and RDR2 is a masterpiece. This definitive trilogy was made by a side studio and they just wanted to update graphics and bring new controls. GTA 6 will be perfect for the time it'll come out, I have no doubts

The graphics in the Definitive Edition looks like that one GTA Coca Cola commercial. Anyways, the environment looks beautifully detailed, but too bad that Tommy and Claude still can't swim to this very day.

Forever the best I've been playing Vice City between 2004 and 2006 those were the golden times for me i was a kid when it first came out in 2002 God this game is my childhood i hate how they've ruined it but i still love the original classic version 😎😎😎❤❤

Ive recently picked up the remastered trilogy and each of these remasters would be my first experience and vice city is my favorite. Comparing it to the original I think the world looks much more better and cleaner especially when driving around the lit up buildings at night it looks so amazing but some of the character models look like human shaped clay.
vice city was released in 2002 what do you expect ? the new game came out nearly 2 years ago now it looks horrible for a remastered version and nothing comes close to the original game

They were gonna do it with the RAGE engine, but they decided not to. Such a bummer.
It would've been a ton of gameplay upgrades
If Rockstar Games developed it, I'm sure they would have designed the animations completely different and would have added GTA 4 or 5's physics and most probably, they would have made the game using id tech 7 or any other latest engine. Yes they would have used the same engine in which this definitive edition was made(Unreal Engine 4).
There is a Vice City edition using the GTA5 engine, models etc but its free roam only no story or missions or anything. Rockstar could've easily taken rage and redid all the games and actually justified the cost

When Rockstar announced the definitive edition, I thought the graphics and physics going to be like an improved version of GTA V
If they would have remade the trilogy like that, one by one, that would have been cool. We got this instead:(

Also the old (superior) versions are not available for purchase anymore, so they kinda ruind everything.
I agree that it is not a likely scenario for rockstar to remake a whole game, they have been trying to sell us gta 5 for like 9 years now.

@@jlong908yes, but what rockstar did is on the other side of the absurdity scale. 3 old games with a graphical overhaul that ruins the whole atmosphere of the games and the character models, plus not very good performance.
I liked Tommy in orginal he is totally different in difenitive and I like the face expression in Tommy in cutscenes in orginal..

Nowadays, we can't really expect anything that good since Take Two with GTA Online, everything's so messed up.
With the trilogy, I don't see the need to buy. It's only a waste of money, it should be 30 euros or 35 bucks. I don't even want to buy the game on PC due to its disgusting RGL exclusivity after removing from Steam.

For me personally, vice city is the less affected negatively by this remaster, I kinda like it overall, but 3 and especially San andreas is painful

the 1.03 patch updated some of the stuffs shown. For example, at 8:35 the gatling gun will start to spin in 1.03 patch
To be honest the definitive edition is very awesome but for me the OG is still gold

Imo I do prefer the definitive edition but that’s likely because I’ve not had any major problems or bugs in the games, at least none that affect my gameplay experience.
The bugs i had so far were behavioral bugs that were present in the original game, like npc's acting stupid
Obviously, the original looks like shit and the definitive looks like Fortnite honestly though I prefer Fortnite over the original since it doesn't look like garbage just an interesting art style choice

I think they good with the definitive edition. They basically fixed and improved what they could without changing the core game. It's the same game just looks better with added little details that make more sense imo. Better save system etc, etc.. They basically added all the obvious things they should have. Game got panned because people were expecting a major overhail and it did get that in ways on just basic things that definately needed an upgrade. I think they went into it with that mindset.
Don't forget they did add a ton of bugs that makes the game barely playable :/

Seems like Vice City was the least affected by the lack of preservation of the art direction. It more or less gets away with it. San Andreas and III's atmosphere was completely killed.

If we talk about remasters that were actually very good, I would say that were Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.
Those remasters by Activision of their original games were actually very good.

I think that the big mistake of this definite edition was putting San Andreas into too. I found GTA III and Vice City a good remastered. But the San Andreas one nope.
Nah Vice City is not a good remaster at all. It's an insult. GTA III isn't bad, but the physics need some severe tweaking.
