Your work has given me hope that I can DO something that I could fall in love with, so thank you for taking the time to not only teach, but for giving me hope for a brighter and much happier future!! God bless, Ryan!

    Wow, man this is so close to the vision I have in my head. I bought acrylics & am watching RUclips, never painted before but I got to get this vision out of my head and onto something. I'm procrastinating cause I'm nervous but this is really close to what I want. I'm gonna try it, after watching your cloud tutorial video first.

    • @RyanORourkeArtist

      There shouldn't be any real difference in a store bought black canvas and one you make yourself provided you apply an even amount of black paint. I painted this canvas black and let it fully dry before beginning. I hope that helps!

    i was almost about to exit this because i knew if a face as pretty as yours was going to be in the sidelines the entire time then i would NOT get any work done.
    that being said, this really was helpful - for a few weeks now i have had a canvas painted a midnight blue background, and i had no idea what to do with it. i did NOT that's how painters did stars! in my head i was slowly pecking the canvas with my brush and cursing it for not being smaller.
    im a beginning painter and i also have OCD; even though i love painting i don't really have that creative flow or ease it takes to be okay with making mistakes.
    thank you for making it so simple.

  • @13Moondancer

    Inspiring painting yet again. Did you allow the paint to dry between adding the layers in the clouds or just keep adding colour whilst wet, please? Could you advise on hard or soft bristle brush when you are painting, please?
    So appreciate your tutorials. Many thanks.

    • @RyanORourkeArtist
      @RyanORourkeArtist  8 лет назад

      For the most part I would let the under-layers dry so that I could get more of a glowing bright tone, as opposed to a mixed grey. This however didn't work for the entirety of it, sometimes you will have to work intuitively to ensure you get soft, smooth blends. But again, for the most part it was layered :) In regards to the brushes, when working with acrylics I'm not a fan of 'hard', or 'soft' brushes, I like them right in the middle of the two. I would recommend 'artists loft' if you're just beginning. They are cheap, the bristles stay first, and they have a great balance. I hope that helps!
