He helped make the format, he didn't drop out because of it. He dropped out because he had a lot of other things going on and was invited to an actual Nintendo event, and just didn't have time. Also: he was never beaten in the tournament you are talking about. He won every one of his matches. Including his one against TheBeast. Strange you think he didn't like the format.

Also, the schedule was set for the SMM2 tourney, why drop when the competition heats up in the finals. Thabeast and Ryu never faced each other in the tourney but were bound to as they are both were going to be in the finals; if I'm wrong about this feel free to link the vid of them facing each other. Ryu has a higher viewership but not the same skill level.

but how is this a dev route if you have a clear condition to not take a damage and you obviously loose your mushroom while entering it, unless there is the way to avoid it

Panga's "Dev routes" actually aren't even completable, or they ruin the clear condition if you get through them. It's actually just an ongoing joke in his community! Panga does complete his levels, no worries. 😁
A dev route is a route that the lvl creator made to be able to beat the lvl on an easy way to be able to upload the lvl ( Some lvl creators create lvls that are too hard for themselves to beat them). Dev pipes are usually hidden at the beginning of the lvl and lead right to the end and let you win immediatly. You can also beat the lvl on the normal way, the harder alternative. However, Panga is one of the best players the mario community and he can easily best his lvls the normal way. The dev pipes in his lvls are trolls and you cannot finish the lvl by using them.
