This song is simply timeless. It applies to people every bit as much today (and no doubt forever) as in 1985. Plus, the message is catchy and the rap easily understood. Yeah, some of the terms may be dated, but enough of the message does come through to make out its meaning.
And also dedicated to the commercials of today. When I'm wathing the telli and on commercial break I can watch this twice in a row and not miss a second of my show that's too many commercials. L.O.L.
My 11 year old daughter just asked me... " Mama have you ever had a friend that talked to much"? I had to play this for her. I think we have listened to it 20 times since lmao 🤣 😂 😆
I had and (still sometimes have) an issue with talking too much in most settings as a child. One time my pops got a RUN DMC’s greatest hits dvd box set and he had been watching their videos and putting me onto their music. It was dope. But this one day he brought me into his room and told me that when I was a toddler he met with them and gave them an idea for a song about his son (me). I was hype bc I had no idea what the song would sound like. He played me this song. I may have been upset when I was a kid. But in retrospect that’s one of the funniest things he’s ever done 🤣 he’s a huge reason I have the sense of humor I have now. I love my pops lol
LOL so am i atm... this woman every week... comes in and spends half her day bitchin the same ol shit... and has to be loud cause she is afraid she wont be heard.... shes only here twice a week and both days before noon... i get a migrane from her mouth runnin....
Ngl I often think I could use a lesson in productive silence. I don't talk about people I don't know or places I haven't been, I don't front, but sometimes my mouth works for me and against me.
I know that this song will change my life since I talk too much and I will stop talking so much pertaining to my Mental Health. Run D.M.C. makes a positive message about talking too much and we have to make a difference in the world.
I met these guys working local stage hand help at one of their concerts back in the 80's. Some really polite stand-up gentlemen. I was running one of the spotlights that night when the director came over the headset and said, "fight on the floor"! We were told if that ever occurred to immediately put the lights on the squabble. DMC stopped the whole show and asked the cops to please come remove the idiots. 😆 They said they weren't going to put up with that junk ruining the show for rest of the crowd. Always respected the guys for how they handled the situation. It's just so sad that Jam Master J is no longer with us. 🙁
Young people. Take heed to these lyrics. Cuz thanks to social media, many of you just put ALL YOUR BUSINESS out there for any and everybody to learn. 🤫 PLEASE!
From me and the kids......you are making us bonkers. And every reason you tell us why we shouldn't like someone, is usually the exact same reason, why we LIKE them. 🎉❤

It's 2024 now, I've been a fan of this song since I first heard it as an elementary school kid in 1990 or 1991. The song came out in 1985 but that year I was just in diapers. Didn't know shit about Run-DMC in 1985.

Psalms 32:3 “When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.” Still learning to control this unruly evil in my mouth. Help!
I went searching for these songs again after my hubby’s suicide. I had been really sick and “lost” MUSIC!! I still consider RUN DMC my favorite rap group! The collab with Aerosmith was SO FAR AHEAD OF ITS TIME. Thank you for the gift I just shared with my 20 yr old son…he’s Gen z, so he probably won’t get it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just dedicated this song to my 12 year old stepson and put it on full blast volume for him. He said the song sucked to which my daughter replied "only because it describes you" He continuously talked throughout the entire song. I need a vacation.
😁↗I sooo loved to mimick the word from the attached 🎵 musical joint listed as You Talk To Much during my high school, youngster dayz.😁↗ Love peace & respect to Run DMC.↗😘
Back when rappers ACTUALLY RHYMED their verse.
Nowadays they still boast about rhyming but their shit never actually rhymes.
No cussing! Nothing lewd or just out of place..
2023 now it's absolutely funny. Lol.real rap.
Run DMC were so so so great. The self titled, King of Rock, and Raising Hell are all must have albums, really fantastic.
*_This will be forever engraved in Botchamania history..._*
I thought I will never see a comment like this, haha.

My teacher plays this once in a while when the class gets too loud. We all sing along and point and sing to the people who DO talk too much. I love it

True, but so did the Fat Boys, and Houdini.
