STREET MACHINE - MARK's MAD MAX HQ

- Mad Max is one of the most iconic Australian movies ever and the opening sequence of the Night Rider's rampage in a stolen Pursuit Special is one the greatest in cinematic history. The pursuit special has been recreated here but with big block power and remains "very toey".

"That's what hurts! It's one of our V-8's. A Pursuit Special on methane, very toey."
The Scaggs floosey was also very Toey... 😉
With a slow and long automatic gearbox... 🤦🏻
You better send a meat truck, Charlies copped a saucepan in the throat...
Everything about this car is just amazing. I love the paint job and I love the green under the hood. I live in the USA where you just don't see these....ever.
Wow, l thought it was just a movie replica show pony. l wasn't expecting that rolling burnout.😀👍
Yes, that got my attention too!
Clearly you aren't an aussie. Rolling burnout, lol
@@janeblogs324 well how would you describe it?
@@burniezarsoff4118 we named them power skids.
There are a few aussie summernats cars that can wheelie while smoking the tyres during a roll on at 60, which people say is physically impossible, but we've done it!
@@janeblogs324 Thats strange, because I have been to the Summernats 12 times, and we didn't do powerskids there. Are you thinking of events like Powercruise? We compete in Powerskids competitions there, but the competition begins from a standing start, not rolling.
Anyway, call it whatever you want to, but you have to admit that HQ has a lot of grunt.
..."remember him when you look at the night sky"...... great car, great vid 👍
Fantastic ! I'd love to see this on the streets in the States. You would have people following you, hoping you'll park. Photos, questions, compliments. Well done sir.
Love it I am a Holden man but not a big hq fan. But always loved the one in mad Max. This car is by far going to get attention then any any other hq coupe with nice paint an billet everything. This car is raw aggressive and speaks highly of the owner it's so nice to see cars that don't resemble what everyone else is doing good to be a individual
Metal damage, brain damage. You listening bronze. Love it!
Great car, Lotsa work, love the old school country look service station carport too
Was just thinking the other day how much I love an Hq monaro done like the mad max one and here you go ! This is just awesome , a bruiser and not too flash but tough as 👍
worked in Ringwood and a fella i worked with had a purple SS HQ straight as a dye with a white interior in 1984.he wanted 2K and all i could scrape up was 1500 but he stuck it in the trading post and it sold friday morning ,loved that white interior
Man all motor and roasting the tires while driving. Super badass!
What a story! Nice car and owner!
Long live fossil fuels

...”We’re still in pursuit Max”!
badass 👍🏼🏁
Have always loved the Monaro, tough to find one here in the States.
One of my dreams to own one!!!
I look at that car and admire it but when I saw the rolling burnout, my jaw dropped. 🔥
I remember my uncle in his orange HQ GTS 350 4 speed in the early 70’s. Was a great car. I’m not keen on the look of this one. I do appreciate that people have different views.
Good one 👍
Damn, what badass machine!!
Great props for the night rider build cause everyone else does the interceptor i love it do you see me toecutter do you see me now? I am the knight rider laying down the rubber road to freedom
I like my cars, like my ice cream - with 2 scoops
Or Raisin Bran
Nice
This is so weird I just finished watching the hole movie series yesterday
Aside from the gaudy hood scoops, it looks, sounds and appears to run quite nicely!
It's similar to the movie car
The gaudy scoop ,as you put it, is trying to replicate the movie car.
@@glennr2358 And it’s the only thing about this car that kind of does try to replicate the Mad Max car. Not saying it’s a bad thing, it just doesn’t work for this car IMO. This is a muscle car that should be understated in its appearance that leads to being underestimated in its performance. I love taking money from those who underestimate my plain looking Monaro (GTO).
@Ant Ursino Aside from the MFP decals, bonnet scoop, and being a matte black HQ just like the one in Mad Max?
@Ant Ursino You know they are at least a dozen iconic cars in Mad Max. It's replicating the "Night Rider" Pursuit Special from the start of the movie.
Thats bloody awesome
Beautiful car, want to own one someday
Emma and Mark are the nicest people in the car scene .
Tha TOE CUTTUH
E KNAOZ WHOIAMM
I'm still giggling after that WOT.
Hotter than a rollin' dice!👍🇦🇺
Great hq mate, but I love one with twins head lights
Thats a nice SS you have there, that would make a great cruiser to.
Love the LS Monaros
That car is bad ass, I'd drive the hell out of it, awesome car
Will you be at Mad Max 45th Anniversary in September at Maryborough Racecource?
Noice 👌🏼
I've always said that "HQ" stands for their Headquarters of Holden Cars. Had one meself, 4 dr sedan, six pack, colum traumatic, pump up shocks, Flintstone floor panel and handled like a wooden spoon in a bowl of porridge. Bought for $400 with six months rego, sold for $400 no rego 2 years later.
Ahhh those were the days... The best days..👍😀🇦🇺
Duuuuude!....sweet!
What a ripper
Epic! 👍
Excellent looking cars the HQ J X coupes
👍
Nice work mate
I was 19 when i brought my hq windowless panel van, wish i still had it
Where'd you bring it from?
Stree Machine tv is no1 🙂👍🇦🇺
Badass, I dig it. 🤘
Good luck with the swap over to the ute. It'll be Brutal...😜
Ha does it run on Methane??
I am the night rider,im a fuel injected suicide machine. The toecutter,he knows who i am.Do you hear me bronze,i am the night rider.
Savage 00:37
This car smashed into a 929 coupe Mazda then flames shot out into the air , your next car should be a Mazda it's fate remember his name 🏍️
I can't get one and you've got 7! 😭 I'm heading of to my envy/self pity party.
Would love a HQ as well.
Supee
When & where is the next HQ run?
The one on Mad Max movie was just a red 6 202
Why ruin, the illusion
And the 351 only just caught up🤣
@@barrymartin3813 because i can and i will
@@cecilforbes3034 ha ha yip it struggled against the mighty red 202
But is it a Nitro powered suicide machine!!
1970 Chevrolet Nova Opala Chevelle Camaro or Monte Carlo
The original was a 186S to save money on movie budget
The 186 was never fitted to a HQ Monaro. It was either a base spec 173 or the 202 for 6-cylinders in HQ Monaros.
Nice ridder but a true replica would of had a 6 cylinder 202. You can tell because when it's upside down you'll see what I mean
I am the night rider
MFP more FN power
Paint it orange
It needs the dents !
Nice engineering but no taste in body styling.
so not a "Mad Max HQ" & not even a replica too "Mad Max" but just some "Decals from Mad Max" & put it on some HQ & call it the "Nightrider"...🙄🤭😂🤣
My exact thoughts, dudes running skinnies on the front 😂
That car is not bronze, it is black.
Haha, not sure if you're joking. It was a movie reference.
@@STREETMACHINETV they're probably a 12 year old kid...
Yeah, the movie came out when I was a kid so many people wouldn't have seen it these days
You're mad...
