E21: Lunch at the family run restaurant in Heraklion and a tour around Lidl.

Hello and welcome to my channel 👋
It’s not a secret that I am big food fanatic. Therefore, I’m always in a search of good quality none expensive places that make food with a passion. Now that I and / @juliuskaveckas
are travelling around Europe, we try to explore the local cuisine of every country we visit. At the moment we are in Greece. The food variety in Greece is so big. There is traditional food served in Taverna’s and grilled food which is more like fast food eaten on the go.
I’m going to do a little series to show the places we visit and the foods we try. Hope you enjoy it 😊
For lunch today we visited this Greek family restaurant ΤΟ ΜΑΓΕΙΡΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΠΙΔΟΣ. We got to try some delicious home cooked food. It was heartwarming and just what we needed.

Later on I went to Lidl. I went there mainly out of curiosity to see what kind of products they have compared to the Irish Lidl.
Here in this episode I also share about the tap water, showers and toilet rules. I just thought it might be useful to know for those visiting Greece.

It's TRUE you should not drink the water on the islands or any small villages in mainland Greece
The water in Athens and Thessaloniki is safe to drink but only in those 2 big cities
And the plumbing in Greece is older that the invention of toilet paper!
So the pipes are narrow and that's why they use the bins
