    Man, I appreciate you looking out for us low budget PC builders. Not many people on the internet really give good recommendations (with this much ACTUALLY USEFUL information, mind you) for us who don't really have the budget to spend on a 7900 xtx or 4090, which people like LTT seem to recommend like anyone could afford them, even though they acknowledge that most people usually don't spend that kind of money anyway.
    for any that like fact checking comments (there's nothing wrong with helpful criticism) and find that my comment is errored: it is the 'atmosphere' they give off, or was for a while if not anymore.

      Thanks for saying so! We wouldn't be forced to consider sorta oddball weird GPUs like this if the manufacturers weren't ignoring the low end like they are. There's no reason a new builder shouldn't be able to find a decent $100 gpu. Until then I have no problem recommending older gpus like this, especially since they're salvaged with new chips and coolers and backed by a company with an actual RMA process.

      I found one in a return bin store for $8. Well my son found it. Someone had cut the Aisurix graphic off the front of the box and slapped a rainbow friends sticker on it, and him being 5, picked it up and brought it to my attention. NICE! Mine smells like burnt plastic too.

    Hats off to companies like aisurix for seeing a HUGE GAPING GAP in the mid to low end gpu market and taking advantage. SJS also seems okay, I have ordered a 5500 xt from them as well as a RX 590. I also own the Aisurix card in the video (580) and aside from it needing new thermal paste. its a really good card price to performance wise. I have had zero issues from any for them so far.

    The one thing I am hesitant on is that, at least when it comes to the retro emulation handhelds, if they know they're sending out a unit that's going to be reviewed, they will send a better-than-expected unit.

    Two things to keep in mind with the 580 2040SP vs the 6500XT: PCIe 4 and hardware encoding/decoding.
    The 6500XT uses PCIe 4 x4 connection, which is fine if someone's PC has a 4.0 compatible motherboard and CPU. But for those putting a budget GPU in an older PC, maybe a pre-built they bought and upgraded, the 6500XT won't run at it's full potential due to the lower PCIe 3 bandwidth.
    Another thing worth noting for older PCs is hardware decoding and encoding. The 6500XT doesn't have it, so their CPU will handle video playback. This might not be a big deal if by chance the CPU is something like a Ryzen 1700, 1800x or 2700x. But if it's an i7 older than CoffeeLake, that might be an issue for 4K videos.
    All of this said, and I know I'm a bit late given when this video was posted, but have you tried the 5500XTs that this company also offers on Amazon? They are RDNA 1, so a bit newer, still have hardware decoding and encoding, and are $140, so it might be worth the extra $20 if only for longer driver updates.

    I have Aisurix Rx 580. Im from Philippine by the way. First purchase was a mess, i got a faulty one which freezes after 30-40mins of gaming, and then proceeds to black screen. I requested for a replacement and the transaction was smooth. I kinda happy about this card but if ever it fail, i got a secondhand sapphire pulse rx 570 8gb as my back up GpU. Would i still buy another Aisurix GPU? Nope. I would happily settle with secondhand GPU with reliable brand, given ofcourse if its from a legit and reliable seller. And if with a budget, i'll go for brandnew reliable brand GPU.
    But if you are on a very very tight budget, Aisurix aint bad. But be prepared for any not so good encounter. But the warranty and customer service is good tho.

The local stores have a gigabyte branded rx-580 8GB like $240.00 usd, whearas this GPU is about $90.00 USD. I am having a little issue with my present used RX-580 I purchased about 2 years ago. Here in the Philippines getting a GPU is very hard even the high-end GPU, However this Aisurix Rx 580 is available in online stores (like Shopee kinda like Amazon but for SEA version) i'm very skeptical to this GPU because i never heard of this brand when it comes to RX 580 GPU's like Sapphire or XFX. Thanks to your review i found out this could be good budget GPU incase the GPU price decide to lower the prices even for second-hand GPUs. The RX570 does 39.81 Gpixle/s while the RX580SP does 41.09 GPixel/s, and the RX580 does 42.88 GPixel/s. These are all at the stock clock speeds. Some graphics cards are factory overclocked and may perform a bit better due to that reason. I got one of these free and replaced my daughter's ASUS ROG STRIX RX570 4GB with the Aisurix RX580SP 8GB and it's basically the same speed and sometimes faster on more demanding games that can use the extra memory. The ASUS was factory overclocked though a bit so that is probably why it's basically the same performance.

The 6500 XT is on a PCI Express 4.0 x 4 slot -- so if you install it in an older motherboard (not 4.0), it runs awful with only 4 lanes on its PCIE bus.

      I own both a 6600 and a 6500xt. The 6600 is literally twice as good and will last twice as long and only costs 50% more. If you can’t possibly afford to step up than you also can’t afford to throw your money at a bad value product, and would be better served with either this gpu pictured or something on the used market

  • @Dingbat1967
    @Dingbat1967 Год назад +3

    This review is Rife with inside jokes. But really, I'm tempted to get one but I already have a crapton of GPUs. Nice for the comparison with RX 6500 but don't forget, that 10th gen Intel you use to test is PCIE 3.0 so you probably lost a few frames in your comparison - this being said, a 45$USD price difference (even worse in Canada) ... keeps telling me that the RX 6500 XT is just overpriced for what it gives you.
    The ONLY reason I would favor the RX 6500 XT is driver longevity. At some point, maybe in a year, maybe in 3 years, AMD could stop supporting that gen of GPU (RX560/570/580) and only support RDNA based GPUs. Not likely in the immediate future but you never know.

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  Год назад +2

      Some games get hit by the PCIe 3.0 tax worse than others (SoTR is about 20%). Witcher 3 is barely any difference.
      And I think you're right. Actually it wouldn't surprise me if the end of support axe dropped on the sooner side, and it will probably be RDNA vs non.

      I had a relative that went through a RX580, RX6600, and some other Radeon R series cards - but he didn't realize that was not the real cause of the issues. The issue was that he was running a Legacy BIOS PC and these do not support older legacy machines. Sometimes you get lucky and they will work, but 8/10 they won't.
