Found your channel and love all the things that you share...after finding the apron video I went to hobby lobby to purchase some fabric and started sharing your channel with the lady cutting the fabric and eventually she took your channel name down to check out later...plan on making one for me and one for my mother...I am also from Alaska (many years ago) but now reside in Missouri...I appreciate the bible readings you share ...love your renovations to the kitchen...blessings to you and your family:)
I got so tickled when you said "if you are extra fluffy" lol! I use that term too....sounds much nicer than the alternative and I am definitely (currently) extra fluffy lol! Working on it ;)
I love this information! I plan to make some aprons like this for myself and for my 3 month old granddaughter! I will begin God willing when she is a toddler and then as she gets older. I am 71 and nothing in life is certain. I will begin mine now and will buy an extra half yard to make hers later. 😀
I am extra extra fluffy, and that sound good to me. I got a new sewing machine a year ago, and the first project I did was a couple of really big aprons for my really big sons and husband, and they were thankful.
Thank you so much for this. I have already repurposed my husbands old ‘WOW’ shirts ( he likes really loud shirts) into reversible apron with ties for my granddaughters whilst in lockdown. Will now make this model for the 6 of them. Repurposed a bedsheet into a privacy curtain for the top bunk bed one of our granddaughters who live with us. We have 3 live with us with their mum and dad and don’t forget their cat and dad 😱. Grandchild number 8 due 14 February 2021 finally our only grandson is getting a male cousin 🤩. Look forward to more sewing. .
To ease how it fits on the back and how it feels under the arms If you add just a little bit of extra length to the shoulder straps you can sew them on the bias In other words crooked practically sideways it would keep it from bunching and feeling tight in both places If you sew them on the back at an angle or slant
Yes, I am fluffy too. The first thing I made when I got my new sewing machine was a couple of VERY large aprons for my very large sons and husband. They bake!! And the sons cook, so I encourage them. I did a pattern that called for taping pieces of paper together and adding to it. Your pattern would be much easier for next time, and I love the chicken fabric.
Thank you, thank you!!! Your 1st video was great, but this helps a lot. I just realized how easy it would be to make your apron reversible!!! Christmas will be ... you get an apron, & you get an apron, & you... you get the idea. Thank you again & God bless you.
Thanks for the update! I need to go to Walmart because they have (at mine) precut 2 yard packs of really cute duck/canvas type fabric that would work well for this and I think they're about $10.
3yrs later & Walmart still has the Canvas fab, it's a little bit more expensive but it's there. Great tip, thanks. I'm gonna go soon. Maybe this yr 2024, I'll have gifts for Christmas ready ! 🤔 PS It's 1/1/24 today ! 😊
I made mine in a day easy. Then i had to modify mine i made longer straps. And the pockets where to high removed and moved them down. I have long arms. And it is so easy
I got my fabric. I pulled out my machine, wiped the dust off , plugged her in... heard a pop, it started smoking. I almost cried. So I had my hubby load it up . It was a vintage Viking sewing machine, and it couldn't be fixed. So I bought a Baby Lock, it wasn't expensive 🙃 So tomorrow I will make my apron. Do you remember where you bought that fabric? I have a linen apron that crosses in the back.that I bought from Rough Linen. I love it. This apron will be a little cooler. Blessings...Debbie
Oh thank you! I’m an old fluffy lady so I need these addendums- I’m still learning inc since how to make my apron from horizontal- did you say 60 inches? And 43”!vertical? I’m confused but it’s been a long time since sewed a dress or apron- is this correct?
The new apron looked a bit snug because the fabric was stiff. It softens up after a couple washes. But if you wanted it to hang lower, you could just make the straps a touch longer.
Just watched your canning chicken video, and you were using an Ulu. I was wondering if you were from Alaska. We lived in Anchorage for 15 years. I use my Ulu all the time. Now live in Oklahoma.
I know you love your chicken fabrics for your aprons so I thought you might like to know where to find the most chicken fabrics... Spoonflower.com they have 42 pages and many per page!
@ Zavia Hope Thomas. I just looked at the fabric on Spoonflower. I love interesting designs, so thanks for posting that. I am in U.K and it shows pricing for here.
Thank you! Loved you show how to modify your apron !❤️🥰😂🐓yes! How to measure, too!

Thank you!
Love that chicken fabric, do you know the design and manufacturer?

Oh no! That is heartbreaking! I bought that, and almost all of my fabric, at Hobby Lobby.
Another great video. Thank you Amanda
This is great. Thanks forbthe link❣️
Great apron. Thank from anchorage

Yes, it is wider than it is tall, so that it can wrap around you :)
There is also text instructions with diagrams in the blog post that is linked in the video description.
Thank you for teaching how to make it. i think i would want to cut out some fabric for the underarms as they look uncomfortably tight.
The new apron looked a bit snug because the fabric was stiff. It softens up after a couple washes. But if you wanted it to hang lower, you could just make the straps a touch longer.

We lived in the Fairbanks area for some time. I absolutely loved living there.
Ok ok Mr 🐓 I'm awake I'm awake 😂
Thank you! Just being nosey, was the apron too high for her? Felt it was not a comfortable fit? Being nosy😀
The fabric was stiff because it was new. The apron is mine, and perfectly comfortable. But this design is extremely flexible.
Oh my goodness, I am not fat I am 'extra fluffy'. I am so stealing that.😃
OMG, I WANT TO MOVE TO ALASKA!
I love this. Apron buT I can't sew.😕
If you know you want apron a little longer in front, couldn’t you make the straps the 2” when cutting??
Yes, there are many ways to modify this simple design.
Fluffy?! I prefer voluptuous!
That’s even better! LOL
the7HoffmanGirls I like Robust as well😊
🙏🏻💗🙏🏻
❤✌❤
🧑🏻🌾🐓🧡
This is probably duper dumb but how do you put it on and take it off? Over your head?
Yes, over your head like a shirt :)
