Mattress Disposal in Two Minutes!

Today I will show you how I got rid of a queen size mattress and box springs in a Two Minute Quickie Video. All that you need is a couple heavy duty trash bags, and a sharp utility knife. I forgot to mention that the metal part of the mattress can either be taken to a recycling center, scrap metal dealer for cash, or set it out by the road with a "free" sign on it, and it will likely get picked up by scrappers.

If anyone tries this at home, keep in mind that a lot of mattresses will use fiberglass as a fire retardant. You dont want to be breathing that in or getting it all over in your home.

Thanks for watching. I have a friend who has a business with selling recycled steel. He was happy to take it and of course I was happy to get rid of it. Usually scrappers are willing to pick them up, and they're definitely more desirable to recycling places when all of the fabric is off...plus easier to handle. I hope that this helps.

I was going to use them to smooth out an area that I was landscaping. I heard that they work really well for that. I am going to give them to a friend who saves scrap metal. I think that once they are cleaned off like this that there's a lot of people who will take them.

In my area if I just set it out in front of the house people pick it up for recycling. There's usually people that will take clean metal for free.

Thanks for watching Skitt. That is actually the combination of two fire pits. The mountains, deer, Etc was custom built at a place that I worked where they had a CNC plasma burning table to cut it out of 3/8 in steel plate. The cone shaped piece in the middle is made out of heavy stainless steel. If you know anybody that works in the coal industry, that was a Vortex dryer from a cold cleaning plant.
