Hi Ellen, Valuable information. Thank you for explaining how to forward a text message. I did not know how to do that and it’s so easy. With photos I use to save the photo and then go in to Photos and send the photo from there. I didn’t know about the Forward arrow. I don’t have “text message forwarding” under Messages. I have “Send & Receive” on my iPhone 10. If I select that it only has my phone number listed and doesn’t have my iPad. Do you know if there a way to do the text message forwarding on my iPhone to include my iPad? The Focus status is good to have especially since you can add the people you want to be able to contact you so they will get through to you. Hi Teresa so if I understand you correctly you don’t have the option to forward your messages from your iPhone to your iPad? If you have iMessages turned on try turning it off waiting a few seconds and turning it back on. Here’s a support article from Apple giving that option if you don’t see that option. support.apple.com/en-au/HT208386 Hope that helps.
The issue I see on forwarding text messages using this method is how it loses the separation as to who said what. Maybe easier to do a screenshot of the texts, then send the photo.
I hv a very long text conversation that I’d like to forward. There’s 50+ messages that I’d like to forward. How do I do this without clicking on each msg? Tks.
So when you push in a message the more option doesn’t show??? Try this: You have to go into the actual conversation. You can't start typing their name and bring up old conversations, but find their name on your phone and go into that. Then the More option shows up.
When I hold the message I want to forward I don’t have the “more” option. I went to settings and deselected iMessages but I don’t have the “more” option. I’m trying to forward a phishing/smishing message to USPS postal inspector. I’m ready to give up!
Hi Brenda, I’m not sure why you’re having the issue…. Are you fully updated to iOS16? Can you try copying and pasting the message? I would turn iMessage back on.
@@EllensTipsForiOS The latest 16.6.1 is downloaded but not yet installed. I doubt that’s it though. I did turn iMessages back on. The instructions on the USPS site said copy and paste the text and a screenshot of it into an email, which I did. Forwarding the text was the next instructions but they’ll have to be satisfied with the email! I really, really appreciate your help! I’ve never needed to forward a text before today so I’m going to let it go.
@@EllensTipsForiOS I think I solved the mystery! I tried the technique on other people’s messages and the More option was there. Researching further, this appears to be a Philippines phone number. Maybe there’s an Apple safeguard to prevent forwarding spam. Sending the email to USPS will have to suffice. Thanks again, Ellen!
Hi Nito! Sorry I didn’t make that clear enough. Once you add the individual contact or contacts in the To: field the blue send button will appear in the bottom right corner of the message area.

Hi David! I don’t think it’s possible. The other option may be to screenshot the messages but even that seems tedious for 50+ messages.

I can't get anything to happen when I tap and hold the message i.e. no menu comes up. Does the message have to have come from an iPhone?

I don’t have the driving option on my iPhone 14 Pro Max ?
You should have it James it’s part of Focus Modes. Go to Settings >Focus>Driving. If you don’t see it hit the us sign and see if you can add it.
