Thank you! And I do! I do remember how it was! Just starting up again after nearly 40 years... Feel like a kid in a candy shop! Thanks for keeping my feet on the ground and helping me do things in the best way!!
Love this. I am writing a little book for a family friend on a member of their family. Not trying to write an historical documentary, but I realized that I needed to make sure a future person could find what I had and go from there if they wanted. I always find the references a giant pain that sometimes takes the joy out of writing. I am trying to view it as presenting evidence for a case. Also your comment on the Polish German records for old Prussian territories totally resonates. I have family from there who were my brick wall. I finally figured out a few basic words that help me know what I am reading or searching for. Before that...what a struggle.
I have 2 surname on both of my maternal grandparents sides that are amongst the surnames Anjou worked on. My maternal great grandma passed on a genealogy book to my grandma and it's for a surname he worked on so I need to See who compiled it and when. The surname on grandpa's side that is amongst Anjou's "Work", we don't nave a book for but because of all the surname variations I keep finding, I've decided to not enter ANY info to my tree on any site until I have concrete "safe" sources. Gotta make sure only the right info gets posted or digitized
Great episode Lisa!!! :) Citing Sources can be a little intimidating at times. Trying to figure the correct way in doing things for me or other people looking at my family tree. I have the book Gail mentioned, Evidence Explained and it's really helped me out a lot. :)

Thanks so much!
Been working on my family for 48 years and have never cited a source I do sometimes double records in the census.
I hope this video has inspired you to begin sourcing, as there are many benefits. Thanks for watching and commenting!
