Not true. The verses are in the same key and are the same notes. Just because a man sang the first verse originally doesn’t mean it is deeper/different notes. She could have sang it exactly the same as her verse. It’s the placement of her mouth and soft palette that is effecting her intonation.
She made a rock n roll shallow version for Grammys...since she will perform the ballad with Bradley in the Oscars. This was the only way for the song to be fresh for the oscars, don’t you think ? Anyways, I love her & all her performances

I honestly thought she might be trying to singing the guy part like a guy, because the weird deepness went away as soon as she sang "tell me something boy"
Here’s the thing, though. The official sheet music is the exact same notes in the exact same key for those 2 verses. Just because a male sang the first verse doesn’t mean the music is automatically lower than a female verse in the same song. The approach should be the same for bit verses if Gaga was singing them both or if Bradley was singing them both.

@KaeTV Uhm... probably because it is rarely ever done because it is a part made for a man. Her situation was special and he didn't realize because I assume he doesn't just randomly read about drama. If there is a part usually sung by a man, it is, most of the time, adjusted to suit the voice of the female. Sometimes it can go unchanged, but it usually is changed to make up for the lower voice that is harder for women to do.

I feel like I'm dragging a lot of weight up. Changing the vowels is a huge difference! And you gave so much respect to gaga :D
She sings great and she's one of my idols, but she was so obviously high that night. No doubting that. Even if that was staged no sane person would perform it so crazily.
Marina Tomačić She was really high that night. All it comes down to is that your perspective changes when you’re in that state of mind. How she heard herself was not how she actually sounded like. Honestly I give her props for being able to finish the performance. I loved this rendition because I can hear what she was aiming for it to sound like even though it’s pitchy because the structure of the performance itself is very strong.
This is "weird Gaga", when that side of her is out it's not about singing perfectly. Look at her as she performs, she's a ball of emotions and she's in a very performance art-state of mind. I love weird Gaga, she's like a piece of art.
i love her! weird is so good, we need more real people in the world. i have been listening to her since i was 2! I personally think she is a genius artist.
I've been a die hard fan of hers since 2008. The hours of her live performances that I've watched are impossible to calculate, and possibly frightening if I actually knew the number. This performance REALLY struck a cord with me, as a very long time fan. It was the Lady Gaga of 2008/2009 meshed with A Star is Born Lady Gaga. Just look back to her early live performances of Just Dance or Love Game and you'll see what I mean. She also brings old school metal vibes to her vocals. I have the opinion that Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden is one of the best male vocalists of all time, and she really brings an element of that. I am not offended whatsoever by your criticism. I think for a person to perform on her level and not lip sync, it would be otherworldly for her vocals to be perfect.
I agree 1000% . Another thing about Gaga is when she gets HYPED (which is not uncommon 😁) things get a little shaky, as adrenaline will do that. Nothing to drag her over. His analysis was informed and respectful imo
So... this is art, this is a real work of art, isn't about be a good or bad performance nor a good or bad voice, isn't to sound perfect all the time, is to sound REAL, CONFUSED, HEAVY, DEEP... as are the lyrics. I believe her intention here is to cause this distancing, estrangement. She isn't just a great singer, she is a great artist and performer. SHE KILL IT! And I believe she wants to create something other than the duet or what is gonna be on Oscar's.

Wow thank you for explaining the techniques so well. I've been singing since I was three (never had lessons) but your videos are teaching me SO many new things to improve with. PS greetings from South Africa
I think in the beggining in the Bradley part the tone of her voice is different to compensate u know what I mean? I think only at the Oscars we'll see a performance closer to what it was in the movie. And yeah she went for a rockier version of shallow.
Obi-Wan Kenobi inthink it’s because her movements are sharp and you can’t deny she is weird she embraces that though. Like at one point she literally wore a meat dress.
The reason we watch you is for the TRUTH so thank you for delivering THAT. It wouldn't be fun to watch someone just give positive reviews of singers, I appreciate that you are objective. Yuh.
People saying she’s acting weird have clearly never been a fan of Gaga lol. That’s who she is. This is a Lady Gaga performance of Shallow, not her character Ally. This is how she performs.
In the beginning when you commented on how low she was making her voice, it was because she was singing Bradley Cooper' s verse since he wasn't there.😊And that's why she sounded overall a lot better when she got to next part which was her part in the original.
I mean it’s in the same key as her verse too so I think she would’ve been fine to just sing both normally, lol. I know girl can SANG but this Grammys performance wasn’t great compared to all of her other performances of that song.
@@baileebee3708 I totally agree that it wasn't her best performance. I just think that it is important to note that she was singing a part that she usually doesn't in the beginning. She doesn't have as much practice singing/performing his part. Also, I think she tried to in a way make her voice sound more similar to Bradley Cooper's than she normally sings.
Here's my take on this performance. I don't think it's her best and I know it's not awful. She did a rock n roll rendition of the song because she knew that in two weeks she would be performing shallow again at the oscars. So she didn't want it to be boring and repetitive. I would've loved it if she performed I'll never love again at the grammys instead of shallow just to switch it up. Anyways I can't wait to watch her perform at the oscars.
Tristan, please, react to the performance at the Oscars. I think she was just missing her co star here. This song really works better when they sing it together. 😊
My theory on this... This song has become to wrapped into the performance in the movie (the characters). There was a performance that she did with Bradley Cooper, where he wasn't in character singing his part... Which left him significantly lighter than his character's sound. This performance feels like she's trying to break it from the movie version
I’m a huuuuge gaga fan but yea, she was pitchy, and I don’t understand why she chose this song to dance the way she did. IT’S A BALLAD NOT HARD ROCK 😆 I love the freddie mercury jumpsuit though
Cause it’s her song and she can do what she wants, no hate but she tried something at least she’s not like every other pop singer who never takes risks
Go watch her Grammy performance from her official RUclips channel,,, if you live outside of America, then use VPN,, that performance give me goosebumps,,, don't watch any fan made video or fan upload video,,,
I feel like it can be a ballad and a rock song cuz I love what she was trying to do and rework the song but I also love the ballad version too. I think the last chorus part was amazing with the raspier hard rockier sound.
I just have to say I’ve wanted to be a singer my entire life but have never felt confident enough or that I have a strong voice and I’ve been watching your videos for about 5 months and I’ve just noticed different approaches when I sing now, I still don’t think I’m a public singer but I love the things you point out that makes me feel better when singing in the car 😜 keep up the amazing work!

I feel like I'm dragging a lot of weight up. Changing the vowels is a huge difference! And you gave so much respect to gaga :D
She’s giving me rocky horror picture show vibes 😂
She’s making her voice deep because she’s singing Bradley Cooper’s part right?? 😂
Yeah I think so
yeahhh
But it wasn't deep in previous performances.
She wanted Bradley to be there, but he had to be at the BAFTAs
Riley Solomon because in the previous performance Bradley was there and singing his part.
Her voice is Amazing!!!
obviously she is saving the best for the oscars
So it’s just me who thought this performance was perfectly fine?
Just A Person no not just you. I thought it was amazing.
It was define amazing people don’t get the fact what about shallow is
I loved that performance
She sings great and she's one of my idols, but she was so obviously high that night. No doubting that. Even if that was staged no sane person would perform it so crazily.
Marina Tomačić She was really high that night. All it comes down to is that your perspective changes when you’re in that state of mind. How she heard herself was not how she actually sounded like. Honestly I give her props for being able to finish the performance. I loved this rendition because I can hear what she was aiming for it to sound like even though it’s pitchy because the structure of the performance itself is very strong.
*Tristan trying not to get hate for 15 minutes straight*
Even though it was a few years ago, I still think Tristan should react to Gaga's halftime show.
Peyton P. Yeeees I would love to see that!!
She was singing Bradley's part too so chill guys
But it was the same key on Bradley's part and Gaga parts, maybe she wanna make in the style of Bradley voice.
crazymus10 Thank you for saying so!!!
@@steve16850 ❤️❤️
This is "weird Gaga", when that side of her is out it's not about singing perfectly. Look at her as she performs, she's a ball of emotions and she's in a very performance art-state of mind.
I love weird Gaga, she's like a piece of art.
I loved her show at the Grammy's. This version is really raw and powerfull!
So true!
She’s doing the beginning part deep for the male part as it’s meant to be Bradly cooper also love ya not hating just letting u no
I didn’t even watch the scammys but I’ll gladly watch you react to it.
Scammys, lmao🤣
Just callin it what it is sis ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t watch the scammys either bc I’ve never heard of the “scammys”
AldcSisters It’s a joke💀
Who do you call scammys girl???
Shallow is an amazing song
(edit) thx 4 all the likes
kendra tomeo you have an amazing profile pic
I think You are umm 100% agree
thanks
thx
YOU should Definiately, react to her Oscar's performance with Cooper, I think you will be pleased (:
i love her! weird is so good, we need more real people in the world. i have been listening to her since i was 2! I personally think she is a genius artist.
FINALLY BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
I've been a die hard fan of hers since 2008.
Watching her develop has been an absolutely amazing journey, with lots more to come eh.. wooo hoo!
I agree 1000% . Another thing about Gaga is when she gets HYPED (which is not uncommon 😁) things get a little shaky, as adrenaline will do that. Nothing to drag her over. His analysis was informed and respectful imo
I agree with this comment 100 % !! This was an awesome mix of old and new Lady Gaga, and gave me absolute chills. I see this performance as art
You nailed it. Thank you for saying this out loud!
Now Miley and Shawn at Grammys please
So... this is art, this is a real work of art, isn't about be a good or bad performance nor a good or bad voice, isn't to sound perfect all the time, is to sound REAL, CONFUSED,
HEAVY, DEEP... as are the lyrics. I believe her intention here is to cause this distancing, estrangement. She isn't just a great singer, she is a great artist and performer. SHE KILL IT! And I believe she wants to create something other than the duet or what is gonna be on Oscar's.
Yeah, its' "pitchy", but it doesn't sound bad, so it doesn't matter.
React to Shawn Mendes at the Grammys
Edit: HE DID IT
U read my mind...
That performance was so good too!
Thought you didn't watch the scammys
I thought you didn’t watch the “scammys”
I kinda was underwhelmed. I am a huge fan but he’s done better.
She’s preforming it like it’s a rock song, I absolutely love Gaga tho
Btw, you should react to Miley Cyrus and Shawn Mendes! ❤️ happy V day!
@@mawesome8854 *Shawn

Just thought you would like to know I am far down the rabbit hole. I've been watching your videos since 7pm est n now its 12:08am 🤣 .. I cant stooopp!!!
I love how you teach us all Tristan! And people who have mean comments about what you’re saying, thinking you’re shading artists, they’re just dumb... You’re analyzing the vocal techniques and that’s it, period. Love your channel!
Imagine how easy geography would be If Tristan was your «geography coach»
Pourya Bigonah couch?
Did u mean coach....
Dania Escobar haha Well now I hate myself
@@PouryaBigonah He can be my geography couch all day long!....Sorry, I hate myself.
Also, I know you were joking, but check out the channel Geography Now. It has a million and a half subscribers for a reason. Very fun, edgy geography, I watch every single video they upload.
Why do i see u everywhere
We *need* to make sure Tristan wins the “best educator” award. GO VOTE FOR HIM!💛
people didin't like this bc isn't the way people like shallow, like the emotional, heart braking shallow, is like a more rock, but, you know its a movie about rock stars, and also the first part is suposed to be singed by a male
Love gaga and her voice. You're commenting on the technical side of singing....but pure raw energy and emotion in her voice does it for me. Dont care if it's perfect.
I love how Tristan is always so kind and loving in giving his criticism, I feel like it really makes people want to listen to what he has to say :)
A few of the faces Tristan makes are like he just walked into grandma's house and instead of cookies he saw grandma naked.
LMAO
"She's so weird."
Like, she's literally just moving to the music...
Pretty sure he wasn't hating.
@@emilylg1769 I never said that. You associated that with my statement, that's on you.
Obi-Wan Kenobi inthink it’s because her movements are sharp and you can’t deny she is weird she embraces that though. Like at one point she literally wore a meat dress.
You are too sweet, nice and worried, people need to stop giving you grief.
when lady simply forgets she’s human
This is how many people love Tristan

Tristan your true fans will never hate in you for calling out singers for being pitchy
BURN HIMMMM
The reason we watch you is for the TRUTH so thank you for delivering THAT. It wouldn't be fun to watch someone just give positive reviews of singers, I appreciate that you are objective. Yuh.
I want to see her live so bad! She’s absolutely amazing, even pitchy, even flat!!!
She borrowed my bejeweled catsuit. I'm going to need that back.
😂😂
People saying she’s acting weird have clearly never been a fan of Gaga lol. That’s who she is. This is a Lady Gaga performance of Shallow, not her character Ally. This is how she performs.
In the beginning when you commented on how low she was making her voice, it was because she was singing Bradley Cooper' s verse since he wasn't there.😊And that's why she sounded overall a lot better when she got to next part which was her part in the original.
But I agree with your comments on the chorus!
Gaga be like: you called me crazy
Also gaga: i'll show you crazy😂😂love her❤❤
Lady Gaga killed it
Yeah Triston we get it. You dont hate lady gaga and we dont hate you too
Here's my take on this performance.
When’s the Oscar anyway
The reason her voice was low in the beginning was because she was singing Bradley coopers part.
Tristan, please, react to the performance at the Oscars. I think she was just missing her co star here. This song really works better when they sing it together. 😊
Sofia Livro Noronha agreed.
Yes!
She was going deep at the beginning to try do bradly coopers part as exact as possible I assume.
IT’S A BALLAD NOT HARD ROCK 😆
I love the freddie mercury jumpsuit though
She looked beautiful but the danced was harsh
Cause it’s her song and she can do what she wants, no hate but she tried something at least she’s not like every other pop singer who never takes risks
Go watch her Grammy performance from her official RUclips channel,,, if you live outside of America, then use VPN,, that performance give me goosebumps,,, don't watch any fan made video or fan upload video,,,
I feel like it can be a ballad and a rock song cuz I love what she was trying to do and rework the song but I also love the ballad version too. I think the last chorus part was amazing with the raspier hard rockier sound.
Sis this is not a ballad...
She’s doing the “male” parts of the song deeper bc of Bradley cooper. That’s the first thing that came to mind. It’s a duet
