      Did you actually listen to her? She has hardly any style. She sounds like and 8 year old first trying to sing with a hairbrush. There is almost no dynamic, the same tones over and over and over then every once in a while she tries to push her voice to hard and does a flip sometimes. I don’t know what’s worse, her horrid attempt at music and lack of vocabulary or the tards that are obsessed with her.

    • @hieronymousblackmane9152
      @hieronymousblackmane9152 5 лет назад +73

      @@logangregory3441 opinions are opinions. In her defense though : her falsetto , vibrato, etc... are all good. If you push your voice like that you are bound to "flip" at some point, it happens to every vocalist. Style, vocabulary and other artistic elements are irrelevant with regards to being a good vocalist. And that's all i said she was: a good vocalist.

    I hope you keep on keeping on until it starts to pay off for you. The clear and gentle tone of your critical viewpoint is sorely needed in this age of hyper witchiness disguised as criticism. As the daughter of a college level vocal teacher from an operatic background as well as being a professional flute teacher myself, I can honestly say that your pedagogy seems to be most accurate, and precise while at the same time constructive and uplifting. I love that you refrain from nitpicking yet you still get to the bone of your point and have not stooped to criticizing the person while still giving a critical look at their performance technique. Were I a vocal musician, I would choose your personal instruction over any other I've sampled. I also like that you aren't afraid to let us in on your personal reaction while watching an accomplished musician. I wish you well and will keep checking in on you because on your channel I get exposed to new music for my soul with the added dollop of instruction for my mind. Bravo

    Your critiques are awesome! Just found you.
    I agree - her Jazz vocals great. Her voice is so diverse and dynamic but those jazzy tunes are just the strongest in my opinion!
    Love your vids!

    So, I found this video by accident, and I’m totally hooked. I love the honesty and kindness. But I think my favorite part is Sam’s facial reactions when he hears something he likes. Thanks for sharing your knowledge in such a great manner. I wish I could sing so I could have you for a vocal coach! Keep up the great job

    While everyone is obsessed with Ariana Grande and Beyoncé, Gaga's talent is criminally underrated!! She's one of the few honestly well-rounded pop artists we've seen in a long time, and people are missing it. Thank you for giving her credit where credit is due!

      Couldn't agree more! And that she actually write her own songs and produces them. I've seen Gaga live 4 times and tbh I wasn't a fan from the beginning, but my best friend dragged me to The Mosters Ball tour and after that I was completely hooked. The thing with Gaga is that she truly gives 110% at her concerts and don't lipsync like soooooo many of today's artist does. I remember seeing her at The Born This Way Ball tour and my country was one of the last cities for the whole tour. Edge of Glory was the last song and you could hear her voice was quite worned out from all the performances and it cracked sometimes, but it didn't matter because she gave her all. Then just suddenly during her last song, she just threw up massively. This woman just continued like nothing had happened! O.o I mean nobody would have blamed her if she had run off the stage during that time, but no, she just gave her all and finished like the star she is. That's 100% professionalism! Not like other spoiled little brat shits that stops their whole concert for a fan sprays them with a little bit of water, or getting a bruise from hitting the mic with their hand etc. Gaga has really earned her respect and worked so hard to get it. She manged to convince me and I was a pure anti from the beginning. Though I always respected her for her opinions and that she seem to be a wonderful person, that truly cares for her fans. Just that is massive respect from me.

    I like how you totally admit that however you're performing the song is the right way to do it at the time. Own it, it's a performance, you're writing the story tor the audience. Part of what makes an artist unique is what they bring to it, even when it's not "perfect" or "classically trained". LOVE that perspective.

    I think the distortion happens when the false vocal chords resonate sympathetically with the actual vocal chords. It creates an undertone of an octave or more below the fundamental pitch. Done at speech level pitch it sounds like Chewbacca but done on a really high belted note it sounds epic.

    Ok, I think I am addicted to your channel now this has got to be the 6th video I've watched this evening! I love this break down of Lady Gaga, in the last few years, I have really began to respect her for the talent that she is. She makes an excellent use of her vocals that most modern day singers don't; I realize that she is classically trained which gives her a phenomenal place to start but she works so hard and is so committed to her passion that she's discovered so many more 'voices' that I don't think she realized she had when she first began. Thank you for the insight.

    I remember when Lady Gaga first came out, she was getting criticism for being fake and sellout because of her bizarre showmanship and her heavy electronic music. I will say that the beginning of her career WAS a bit too flashy to tell if genuine talent was there. But with her recent albums, she's created music that really gives her vocals the attention they deserve. Even though slower, country music isn't the music I jam to, just watching these clips is amazing, to see all the different things her voice can do.
