Reset - 2 ways- HTC Wildfire S

There are 2 ways to reset your HTC Wildfire S. At the end of video little information on how to clear your number and network ID from the phone if you plan to return or sell your phone. The clearing number method works on all phones. some you must use all 1's instead of 0's.
USB tethering with 3G is at your own risk. please know you cell phone companies policies.

Thanks. I just found this old smartphone and just want to reset this thing. Years ago I rooted it and put Cyanogenmod 7 on this phone, but didn't know exactly any more how to go into recovery mode.

No, but luckily most was saved to a memory card so I've recovered as much as I can and have written the rest off as a lost cause, thanks for the reply though :)

@akherousia power off from android is more like a sleep mode. full power off is battery pull while phone is on first as instructed, battery back in, then use the buttons

@climbing7654321 it resets it to factory. you don't have to re activate with VM after. sd card content not deleted with JUST a reset. though with in wildfire s it has option to format sd card as well. everything is stated in the video

Have you gotten a chance to try and root the phone yet. It sounds alittle hard and not sure if I want to try it on my own. Hope it does work, you have the best video's on phones.

as long as you have your contacts backed up , sync, to google account after factory reset anything synced will be put back on. text unless you need them get rid of and save attachments to SD card. SD card will not be erased unless you select it to be formatted. as for phone activation all that will be on the phone. You would have to do a master reset to wipe account off phone or reprogram it to 0's

using Astro: says 800mb of 2g is in use (these are the apps). music files work thou.

well go through VM for replacement as long as no cracked screen or case or water damage. they send phone first and prepaid envelope to send old back. no warranty needed for manufacture replacement. you will be back up and going in less then week. even if you plan on getting something else do it for a working phone as back up

you can try a 3rd party app screen unlock that places in a different place. like go unlock has animated caterpillar. you can unlock when it crawls to where screen works. you have to slice it in half. some don't like the animated blood.

@MsLCPDCLAN as soon as you activate it. it can take up to 4 hours for system to update. make sure that you are in a 3g service area. if it says 1x check the service map at VM site and see what service is.

if you didn't previously back it up to SD card or sync with google and won't boot... no. try pulling battery hold power button 15 sec and then back in and boot. and if you locked into google account and did not take check mark out of back up then you stuff may of already synced for you.

wierd. try installing ES or astro to view files or use a card reader to transfer them off. you did leave the check mark off on wipe sd card for reset right?

meaning don't root or partition until you are past 30 day return time. That way if this is a new purchase you don't risk being able to get something else if you worst case scenario brick it.

install an sd card and use apps2sd from Google Play to transfer some applications to the sd card to clear some space, Better still root the phone and use link2sd that way you are limited only by your SD card! ;-)

resetting will not clear you actual account. it is no different then clean instal of windows. same serial number you originally purchased. and after reset no activation is required that is already done and save in the phone

my phone ran out of memory completely, now it would not power back on. It is there on the initial screen stuck. Is there a way to backup my phone contacts and do a factory reset? unfortunately i have not synched my phone with my google account. :( any ideas would be very helpful.

i have tried to reset with the volume dwn amd unlock button and on the screen it gives me option of FASTBOOT, RECOVERY, FACTORY RESET, SIMLOCK and IMAGE CRC, there is no option to CLEAR STORAGE. it doesn't have a sims. you can switch to another that is cdma same frequency if they except the phone in their system (not easy) but only calls and text work. not mms. for this phone it is not worth the time and effort

downfall that I showed on this phone no memory and limited. when this happens can't text or take pictures. you will have to start deleting stuff. HTC wall papers and ringtones tale space too keep them to one or two stored on phone. you can back up data and factory reset

Does anyone know a way to change the USB connection setting without using the touchscreen?
