The problem with these top 5's and top 10's is there are so many factors that make a boxer great, and we've got all these years and there are so many truly great boxers, we start to blur lines with weight divisions, and what we've seen-- it's almost necessary to break it down in eras. Lewis doesn't get the credit he deserves and probably won't because Tyson was such a popular and polarizing figure-- but he wasn't the superior boxer.

Tyson would never even get to it. Vlad is 6'6 at minimum, 245 lbs more solid than Tyson ever was even at 215, knew how to clinch and shut down the "smaller guys" of his era (who, by then, were larger than Tyson's larger opponents of the 80's), and was doing hybrid training with weights that guys in Tyson's era just didn't do, hence why he was breaking bones in people's faces while Tyson was only getting real 1-punch ko's against Spinks (a blown up LHW) and floppers who didn't even really get ko'd like Seldon and Clifford. Wladimir was larger in height than anyone Tyson ever fought and would be his 6th heaviest opponent. All those guys were either bums who are only known as guys Tyson squashed or beat him, so figure it out. Wlad vs Tyson is like the last great western gunslinger vs the first Navy Seal. The game evolved. Tyson couldn't even stop gatekeepers like Bonecrusher Smith and Blood Green from tying him up, so how's he going to do it against Wlad? The smallest guy Wlad ever lost to (not including Lamon Brewster, who was 6'2 and 240, but beat a drugged Wlad) was 6'4 and 250 lb Corrie Saunders... and that was when was young and got caught out the gate. His smallest guy he lost to would be in Tyson's top 5 largest opponents of his entire career... Tyson and Ali are the new Joe Louis and Jack Dempsey. Only old timers and people who know nothing about boxing think they could even hang with top guys now, nevermind beat the greats of era's 20-40 years past their own.

Lennox Lewis reminds me of a pretty version of The Predator in his prime.
Why Wladimir?Vitaly was way tougher than Wlad
Lennox was so ‘afraid’ that he took the Vitali fight on short notice and broke the man’s face while claiming the victory.
You make no damned sense.
@Drummer8282 actually Lewis was losing on official scorecards, he didn't broke his face, it's was a cut. He never wanted rematch, very interesting 😅
@@mariokovac9572 “A cut”? the guy needed 60 stitches for multiple cuts. Watch the fight - the last round before the fight was halted, Klitschko did nothing but take a beating. He wasn’t fighting back anymore. Combined with the severity of the many cuts on his face and the danger of permanent loss of sight the fight was stopped.
Who cares if Vitali was ahead on the scorecard at the time of the stoppage? It’s not as though it was some insurmountable lead with hardly any rounds remaining. The fight wasn’t even half over at the time. Lennox had turned the momentum of the fight and was landing massive shots and Vitali was out on his feet with blood all over.
He lost. Get over it. Your excuses doesn’t change history.

To me it was Foreman at 6'4 ...

Mike wouldnt beat the Klit bro
Lewis fought Vitali not Wlad. He doesn't really have a reason to pick Wlad over Tyson when picking Tyson would actually make Lewis look better. (Cause he beat Tyson)
@@hmmmhmmm69171988 Mike Tyson would beat Wladimir . You have no boxing knowledge

Should ask on Vitali Klitschko.
I wasn't a L. Lewis fan and didn't pay full Homage to his ability nd superiority as a Yunging , however Im older nd wiser now ..
Nd Lennox deserves all Respect nd Flowers from me.
Tyson vs Klitschko is close, I have a feeling that Tyson is just too quick and powerful for Klitschko, and Klitschko had a questionable chin, he got hurt by guys that weren’t near Tysons level. Could also see Klitschko jab, grabbing Tyson for a whole boring 12 rds.
Wlad is one of the quickest heavyweights of all time and that’s not even my claim alone even Emmanuel said the same thing. That left hook off the jab is catching Mike so fast lol
yeah he got hurt by guys early in his career when his defense was lacking, once his style became heavily focused on defense with stewart he was much much better, wlad made a career on beating smaller guys like tyson where he just leans on and kos at range with very fast straights
I have a feeling that Klitschko is too good for Tyson because he’s not a cab driver Tyson used to fight 😂
Lennox was under appreciated when he was active. I was one of those people, but now I can look back and admire who he was and is.
King of Kings, the only and real leader of the 90‘s heavy weight era.🙇♂️
No John Fury no man born from a mother could beat him

I guess Henry Akinwande was a science experiment considering he was able to beat a man who couldn’t be beat by anyone born from their mother.

I agreed with every answer! Lennox was not only a great boxer but a great boxing mind. I hated this guy so much as a kid because my mom had the biggest crush on him it’s a shame I didn’t get to cherish his career in real time. It wasn’t until about 11 years ago when I finally realized he was greater than my 2 favorite heavyweights in that era which was Tyson and Evander.
Lewis really thinks on his answers. The man needs so much more respect than he gets. Say whatever you want about this comment but I think Lennox is the best heavyweight ever, period. A resume loaded full of great fighters, any losses redeemed, great puncher, great boxing IQ. Lennox beats them all, all eras.

@@archivey-h8emaybe Vitali. I don’t think Vlad beats Tyson
@@spenser6353 Wlad would need to have a super good night but he never had the best chin. Vitali never got knocked down once.
Lennox forgot that Fury and Wlad already fought. That being said Wlad was at least 38 at that point.

Klitschko would definately beat 5,11 Tyson, he was much more scientific, modern, tall heavyweight than Tyson.
That means nothing respectfully. Mike would’ve gone to Vlad’s body, unlike Povetkin did
I think Mike beats Vlad, but not Vitali.
Is grabbing and holding more scientific than head movement and countering?
Are jabs and straight right hands more scientific than uppercuts and hooks?
Is jumping back in a straight line more scientific than getting to a side angle of your opponent like Lomachenko?
Is being limited to long range boxing more scientific than inside boxing and body attacks?
If you answer those questions with yes, then Wladimir Klitschko was more scientific than Mike Tyson.
Tyson beated people taller than klitckho and better than klitchko
