- We traveled to Salmo BC, to visit the annual Shambhala Music Festival which attracts over 15,000 people each year. But it’s NOT just the music which attracts them to Sham, oh no, it’s much more. We were very shocked to learn the reality behind this festival, and we hope that more will take notice and follow suit. I hope you guys all enjoy!

@@lotaryguy12 Oh yeah, because no one ever overdoses on drugs at festivals, ever.
@@pozxcety56 Again, how's that related? Are you saying the festival is to blame for that? 'Cause that would be borderline stupid. Many people also eat too many hamburgers and die of heart attacks, does that mean people shouldn't make a fucking barbecue? Harm reduction and sanctuary is SO important at music festivals. My first ever MDMA experience was at Coachella 2019, i was alone and i was seven hours away from home. The come up for me was awful and loaded with anxiety (definitely due to the fact that i was so far away from home) i kept thinking that people were going to kidnap me. I went to the medic tent where i was told about the EveryOne tent. Alone and afraid i managed to walk across the festival to a sanctuary where i was met with so much kindness and acceptance. I was surrounded by people who were going through the same thing, many of whom were sober and were just having anxiety attack’s. I was able to talk to a therapist who proceeded to tell me that I was very brave for coming to the festival alone, she completely restored my self esteem and brought me back to life. At one point i told her, I think I’m ready, she said “i think you are too”, at that point i left the tent and danced my ass off at the Kaytranada set.
I wish I would’ve known about this tent at Coachella. I was having a bad trip and went to the medic tent to relax and the guy who i talked to was so rude to me. I ran out.
@@indiehippie omg love I'm so sorry this happened to you :/ honestly, the girl at the medic tent made it worse for me, she kept telling me things like "its all in your head" and while that was true, it DEFINITELY did not help. I really was only there for an hour, I laid down on the couch and managed to bring myself down (they had weighted blankets that were really nice). She helped me turn my negative thought loop into a positive one, she was warm and accepting and everything a therapist SHOULD be. She held space for me and allowed me to talk openly about what I was experiencing.

A few years ago I met a girl on the street and a bought 5$ of "DMT" from her. I was using needles at the time so when I got back home, just to be safe, I injected something like a few grains of salts of it and I almost died. I don't know what it was but I don't think it was DMT... It was burning like hell and I lost conscience. I thought I was being smart by testing a very small amount first but even then I could've died.

The no alcohol at the festival seems like a good decision. When I had my first psychotic episode I was at a festival. I was drunk out of my mind but still thought that it would be a good idea to mix it with ecstasy, and not just one pill. If i recall correctly I took 4 pills of unknown purity all within 2 or so hours. I noticed whilst watching a set that I could hear people whispering my name around me, this made me decide to go back to camp, but at this point my legs were barely functioning but I somehow managed to make it back. I went to my tent and I can remember seeing the shadows on the tent roof forming into faces, all this would be scary, but I was way too high on the mdma to feel any bad feelings. Long story cut short it ended with me being taken in by the police and being admitted to hospital two days later. Don't mix drugs, for your own safety

Canada kicks ass! I love how much they care about the well being of the attendees. I’m proud to be a Canadian but have yet to go to a Canadian festival.
As someone who went to Shambhs. You will never in your whole life experience the love and happiness that is shared and felt at this festival. The owners literally designed the forests for psychedelics. Shambhs originally started with 100 people and blew up into this incredible psychedelic version of project X. You have almost tribes when you’re there which are your totoms and groups. If you’re tripping, people will make sure you’re good and happy. The artists love to dance with the people at the festival and not a single person was snooty, rude, upset, I did not even see a single person cry aside from happiness from all the insane stuff going on. We went in a group of 15 people and every single one of us had the time of our lives and we were there for a week. The lasers alone are upwards of 100,000.00 each with performers like BTSM. Gotta love being Canadian, eh? Oh also the security guards literally support you to do psychedelics in a safe manner! The whole place is literally built for it.
Something cool too, Harvard is supporting treatment using psychedelics, specifically mdma, psilocybin (shrooms), and ketamine. Treatments are meant to be administered by psychologists for treatment of anxiety, depression and overall quality of life. The conference is scheduled for 2020 through Harvard alumni.
Yep. Doesnt matter what other festivals youve been to. Shambhala is its own animal.

@Sean Washo ? Did you see the part where the dude tested some MDMA and the results were that it was pure MDMA? just saying..
I wonder if GHB is popular because there’s no alcohol permitted.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think MDMA induces anxiety attacks. I’ve never heard of someone bad-tripping on MDMA.
@@toufikelhossami8151 It is absolutely possible to "bad trip" on MDMA. If you're in a bad mood before, the environment is overwhelming or you're generally an anxious person it can happen that you feel really bad. I had this several times (tested MDMA, btw) I didn't wanted to talk or being touched, I was really pissed about everything that happened around me and had a negative thought spiral and was anxious as fuck. That happened also to some friends. MDMA enhances what is already there. If you're in a bad mental state when you take it, it really can become a bad experience. Also it can happen that you're hallucinating if you took high doses or mix it with weed. This, can also get really scary if you're not expecting this to happen.

Music festivals and drugs in general are saturated with demons and open people up to the demonic realms. It's poison for the soul while in the body it feels good. The music industry and entire entertainment industry is wicked. The ears and eyes are gateways to the soul and demons know this. Your eternal soul is real and so is Jesus Christ. This is a disguised war for the soul. Heaven and hell are real and sin binds souls to the demonic realm, unless people repent and change their ways.
Jesus Christ is the ONLY one to set people free. He is the Almighty God, maker of your soul, not a man that started a religion. Modern music is disguised spell casting, same thing with movies, shows, video games, they plant seeds in the subconscious and are being fueled by spirits working with those in the industry in covenants. Pray and repent to Jesus Christ while there's still time, your eternal soul is being led astray with entertainment owned by evil. Even the musicians on a high level know this. God bless.
I love how there's a team of people dedicated to keeping people safe and I love that you interviewed all really important parts of the team

This and last year we had 5 going full-time! This year also GC-MS for confirmation- this enabled us to capture 4-MEO-DIPT's spectrum into our database/library for the first time ever!
I LOVE THIS! I just recently came back to the festival scene after many years away. I noticed a huge change in the overall vibe. After a few shows i realized that the people drinking were the ones not expressing PLUR or being rude pushing through the crowd. We didnt drink back in the day cause it ruined the other substances. How did the culture sway to alcohol so much? Drunk people and trippy people just chill on a different wave length. Awesome content.
This was amazing! Thank you for sharing this side of the festival experience!! It's about everybody having fun and staying safe 😊 no judgement, just support and education!
The high usage of GHB might be due to the fact that alcohol is banned. Similar effect, a lot less to bring/smuggle.
GHB is really bad though. Here in the Netherlands many people on the country side are addicted really bad.

I'm curious if LSD being the most common case of people requiring assistance is simply because LSD is the most common drug there
That and high doses can be overwhelming as fuck
I think it has more to do with it being so frequently underestimated, i.e. naive people taking high doses and having bad trips. The drug itself being common would of course also be a factor.
It is a assault on the senses if you dont know/haven't done heroic doses. Its like a valve getting opened in your brain and everything is trying to rush out.

You can be like her now. Why wait?
That thing about not being able to consent under the influence is kinda dumb tbh. If you are gonna get drugged you should as a responsible adult person always be in a safe environment. If you say yes while you are on a drug you WILLINGLY took then thats on you. It's not like people can look into the future and be like "oh wait that girl is gonna wake up tomorrow and regret it". And even if, just because you regret something doesn't mean you didn't consent to it at the given moment.
@@REALdavidmiscarriage i think she meant that if you are sober, don't try and come on to somebody who is clearly not sober. just generally good advice since it creates an odd power dynamic and they may not have consented had they been sober. plus some creeps will go for people who are clearly fucked up since they might be "easier". if you're both tripping it's not anyone's fault if either of you regrets it though
@@crepezzzzz it‘s still not my problem, I mean I don‘t go for drunk girls when I’m sober because there won‘t be any chemistry probably because we are basically at two different IQ levels and it‘s kinda unattractive when somebody is that messed up. Still if the person wants sex in that moment why would I (if I also wanted it and I’m sober) deny them that? regret is not a lack of consent…
Thanks for the video adam. I'm doing an honours project on drug-related deaths at festivals and concerts in Australia and this video was very interesting to see how other festivals do what they can to try and maximise harm reduction. I did mushrooms for the first time at a local music festival, and what made it awesome is the feeling of safety there. He said 100% ‘cocaine match’, whatever that means. It’s impossible to test the purity of cocaine percentage-wise at places like that. Besides, cocaine from Colombia when it’s made in the jungle is only ever 97% pure, so he definitely doesn’t mean it’s 100% pure. Those testing places can only tell you what’s in the chemical you hand over, not the amount.
Cocaine can be purified at home with a simple procedure. Look it up. Crazy stuff. I imagine that's what this poor fella did before he was robbed of his sweet, sweet pure cocaine.

Ricky Taylor You joke as if Cannabis isn't a deadly killer. If it's so safe why do all the people who smoke it die before 150 years! Clearly weed kills EVERYONE who smokes it in about 100 years. Or less!!! :) Alcohol and sarcasm are more dangerous than psychedelics!
Du5tin the Wind i really hope you’re meming
@@rickytaylor7151 dont worry he definitely is 😂😂😂
@Ricky Taylor OH yes!!! 100% agree with your comment! Just trying to make it obvious how NOT dangerous these things are. Alcohol is BY FAR the most dangerous drug! It's the only one that's legal! We have a really F***ed up attitude to "drugs" that isn't helping anyone! I hope this changes in my lifetime. It's not so much a war on drugs as it is a war on free thinking and personal sovereignty.
@@du5tinthewind774 not gonna lie, they had us in the first half
great video! you covered multiple aspects of festival safety procedures beyond just drug intake and talked to some awesome people :)
Not that big of a edm music fan unless tripping, but I just love the wholesomeness that comes within the environment of edm fesitvals. Everyone from the people to the security staff are so positive and lenient. Makes my heart smile.
HEY GUESS WHAT!!??? I bought a test kit, like for real to test my molly before I go to a festival so I thought you’d be proud (edit: turns out my molly is legit immediately turned black/purplish)
You def made us proud girl 😅🙏 Hope you're having a wonderful experience at that festival 👌 check your set & setting, start with rather less than too much (remember the max dose for girls is about 1,3mg/kg, max twice a night to avoid neurotoxicity) and always stay hydrated!
R3UnionHD thanks man!
Good for you! maybe like (4) years ago my husband and I wanted to try "Molly" Turned out that shit was mostly meth .. Worst time ever ! And we still didnt learn our lesson! We got some E and I kid you not I am almost 100% sure that was meant to be a date rape drug! It made us sleepy AF and really did not feel like ecstacy .Good thing we were in a safe place and it was just him and I. We stopped doing all that stuff but now Im really interested in LSD good thing this channel exists so we can test it if we ever do get our hands on some 😊
@Milwaukee Mayhem she looks 20?
Milwaukee Mayhem she probably wouldn’t even be allowed in these festivals if she was 15.
Damn, what an incredible staff. Every music festival needs precautions like Shambhala.
how awesome! safe learning and fun, that’s what it’s all about. 💗💗💗
this festival is so cute, I love all the care that goes into it
"people still smuggle (alcohol) in right"
* proceeds to drink beer disguised as juice*
I really hope it wasn't I hope hes not drinking again, he mentioned how much it damaged him.
Lets just pretend it’s apple juice
I love the extent of harm reduction the festival staff goes to. Great work to the guys who organised it all!
The editing is so good. I love the different takes at different times all cut up
And the positive vibes are so so great
Loving the format brother. Thanks for all that you do!
It's very comforting knowing there is such a enthusiastic team working at these festivals. Wow
5:08 *CAN I HAVE A BLOW JOB*
*CAN I HAVE A BLOW JOB*
*CAN I HAVE A BLOW JOB*
yeah, because that's what all men go around saying all day long
Wow this is awesome! I’m so happy that they have implemented this.
This is beautiful in every way, it’s beautiful that they take care of literally EVERYONE ❤️
Favorite channel on RUclips right here. Been watching your vids for about 2 years now man.
Also, alcohol in combination with psychedelics is a bad idea, it completely goes contrary to the high vibrations and the spiritual experience,
I disagree, a couple beers on the porch watching the sun go down is very relaxing when you're tripping balls
I mean I guess.
Acid and beer go together well like acid and beer
1 shot of fireball at the peak of and acid trip is pretty great ngl lol
It’s nice for the come up I think as long as you don’t overdo it. But the major downside is that alcohol makes you prone to dehydration and psychedelics can dehydrate the fuck out of you
All these people are so nice!! I hope other festivals will follow in their footsteps, this is so much saver. The feeling and the envoirment where it's ok to be tripping balls makes the experience less scary and that prevents people from freaking out, doing weird stuff and getting injured.
Ey, was that judgement I saw for the sober-partiers? Tsk tsk tsk.
Amazing and kind staff! Seems like such a positive and loving environment
Awesome video!
Sad to see that this video was instantly demonetized..
It's clear that there was a lot of work and time put into making this.
Go ADAM!
This is a lesson in empathy, much respect!
Dope video dude! Much appreciation! You are doing great at harm reduction!
Hearing about „ground scores“ made me wanna go and look at the whole ground, like searching for mshrooms
Everyone you spoke to seems so great. Love to see it, wish all festvials were like this.
Thank you for making these vids man. It helps so much.
