    Shoey, I have done 4 cruiser sessions and am looking at these waves next. So wanting to know what size board where you using and how many times you have done PTurns? I use a McCoy 7’6” and go ok in cruiser. Any other info would be good. Cheers man

      Hey mate, found these waves a lot harder than just the cruiser setting. I was using a 6’10 torq mod fish.
      This wave has a much steeper take off and it was a lot faster I find it to be so much more fun than the cruiser setting but it took me a few goes to get comfortable. The first time I did the progressive turns I only caught one wave and just had a hard time adjusting from cruiser. But the next time I went I think I caught all but one wave, I quickly learnt that you didn’t go as close to the wall like in cruiser and that just needed to concentrate a bit more and some stronger paddles at the start to help your pop up. Hope that helps.
      I’ve done progressive turns about 8 times now and can’t go back to cruiser anymore, it’s no where near as fun as this wave :) I think your board should be fine, you just need to be able to do some small turns to stay in the wave, this one is quite easy for you to go off the back if you don’t do some small turns to get back into the main part of the wave if that makes sense? In cruiser I feel you can just ride it in a straight line but this wave kind of forces you to have to do some small turns to stay in it

      Cheers Shoey, I can stay with the power of cruiser doing turns easily enough. Biggest issue I have found is avoiding the fallen learners and stalling as I have left the power source to take evasive action. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks for your help cuz

      @@murraysaunders141 yeah that’s why I like the progressive turns because people seem to be a lot better or at the very least they are better at getting out of the way so you can focus just on the wave :) good luck for when you go next!

    How much harder is this wave to cruiser?

    • @shoeyssurfing
      @shoeyssurfing  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey mate thanks for the question. It is a little bit of a jump but it is still a very mellow wave with an easy ish take off. Just a little less forgiving compared to cruiser mainly also you don’t have the insurance of catching the second wave if you miss the first. If you consistently pop up on the cruiser wave and can trim down the line you’ll be sweet

    • @JepoMtb
      @JepoMtb 7 месяцев назад +1

      I think I should be ok because I did a cruiser last weekend and only stacked twice. The main reason I fell was because of the little power and couldn’t perform turns well. I am mainly concerned about the take off and how steep it is because I’ll probably be going with a mate. Thanks for the fast reply

    • @shoeyssurfing
      @shoeyssurfing  7 месяцев назад

      @@JepoMtb no worries, I didn’t find it too steep. Only advice that will help is they say to line up at the blue squares, I find it’s best to line up with the black diamond behind the squares. So essentially just a little behind where they suggest, you can get in easy still and you get that extra half a sec to pop up. Let me know how you go!! It’s so much fun!!
