      She was a beautiful and amazing woman, we are blessed to have witnessed Diana. I was devastated when I'd learned of her passing and I cried like a baby as if she was a relative that was dear and close. I still think of her often, it's hard to believe its been 27 years since she was taken from us. An odd occurrence for me was I lost my grandmother (dad's mom) on Aug 6th of 1997, then Diana's passing Aug 31, 1997 and I lost my gramma on Aug 25th 2008 (11 years later) and my father was born Aug 24th 1948. To me this is ironic and I have a thing for stuff like this, it's all coincidental lol.

    I went to pay my respects to Princess Diana in May of 2023. I had flown over to watch the coronation. I ended up catching covid and watched it under a blanket. Once I felt better about 5 days later, I dragged myself to KP. I wanted so much to go - strangely, I felt the need to be where Princess Diana was happy. I stayed about an hour. Did a tour inside and viewed the sunken garden. I felt her presence. The energy felt somber. I sat on a bench under the vines and said my goodbyes. Reflected on her untimely death, betrayal and what should have been hers.

    • @tessdurberville711
      @tessdurberville711 10 месяцев назад

      She was never happy at Althorp. She hated it, and her father and stepmother.
      I hope you did not "share" your COVID with anyone. How selfish. You remind me of the fan of Gene Tierney who selfishly went to the Stage Door Canteen one night, despite having German measles, and infected Miss Tierney and her unborn daughter who spent the rest of her life in an institution.

    • @danielkim7841
      @danielkim7841 9 месяцев назад +6

      that is so cool you felt Diana's presence. Did you feel she had a message to give you personally or for humanity? I think because she was so miserable in life that her soul decided to exit and go to heaven and rest and find wellness again. Earth is a very hard school room and we all chose to come to earth and experience its hardships for our ultimate soul growth. But Diana was finding her lessons too harsh and she left, she was one smart (and stylish) woman!

      Diana feigned interest in Charles’ interests and hobbies (Balmoral, fishing hunting, etc.)-basically, she pretended to be who Camilla is, a hunting, shooting, fishing, reading country girl. Then as soon as they were on their honeymoon (most of which was at Balmoral), Diana declared each of his interests as borrrring. When the honeymoon moved on to Balmoral she would have have fits of screaming and crying when he wouldn’t do what she wanted when she wanted him to do it (the court was at Balmoral for the summer so there was official business going on and many witnesses). After the honeymoon she proceeded to, one by one, separate him from his friends (he would give in to avoid conflict with her), then his staff (who would quit because she would not look at or speak to those she wanted to leave).
      In her mind, she loved him, but then attempted to change everything about him, and if he wanted any kind of peace, he would comply. Diana and her family, particularly the Spencers, were very ambitious and misrepresented who she was to the RF, particularly regarding her emotional health & stability. The Spencer’s actually had a bit of a reputation for unstable men (Diana’s mom cited abuse in the divorce), but the RF didn’t think the mental issues affected the Spencer women. Diana actually refused to cooperate with mental health professionals provided by the RF when they realized how unstable she was, and wouldn’t accept mental health help for years (yes, the RF tried to get her professional help) until a friend threatened to out her bulimia to the press because she was afraid it would kill her.
      And that is just how she treated Charles. As a grown woman she held hostility towards her mother for leaving her abusive father (her mother took Diana & her brother with her but lost custody), pushed her 60 year old stepmother down the stairs (long after Diana married btw), threw her stepmother’s things out the window in trash bags after her father died, fired one staff for claiming expenses with the palace for some trips with Diana (completely legitimate expenses), and fired another who was the currier delivering tapes to Andrew Morten for her for accepting reimbursement from the publishing company.
      The virginal “Shy Di” persona was completely a creation of a press. A bit like the common impression that the Queen Mother “sweet ol’granny.”

    Had Diana lived we would have seen an evolution in her interior design style. She had never been able to give full reign to interior design, and so we can only go by how her fashion sense evolved from soft and feminine clothes, to a a more tailored and edited approach. Going by the revenge dress we would have seems something in her interior design that was bold, sexy, luxurious, and glamorous.

    Due to changing tastes in home decor, it's fairly awful by today's standards. Doesn't help that none of the photos are done professionally; the colors look terrible. I'm sure there were also substantial restrictions on what she could do to the space. Not sure why the shot with the Obamas was included. You can see, however, that the updated room looks much better.

    I was around in the early 80s and I can say that Diana's interior decorating style would have been considered less than tasteful, even then. I was shocked many years ago when I saw what Diana did with Kensington Palace. In my humble opinion, Diana's taste in interior design is not attractive at all. William and Catherine have improved it greatly!

      I grew up in the 70's and 80's and I'd say her color palettes then were pretty typical for the time period. I decorated my first home in the pink and blue palette with a country theme. Of course today, my taste has completely changed. I'm sure Diana's taste would have changed and matured as well.

    Why was the apartment not kept the way she left it? Did the royals want to get rid of her memory? She lives on and because of who she was and the fact that she bridged the gap between the stiff upperlip royals and the commoners, if wasn't for her, I wonder where the now royals would have been today. She paved the way for their future. Showing them how to treat those who have less and in fact pay to keep them in the comfort they are living in.

    Nut how l pray that the world would embrace their differences for they can't be the same surely and they have one mother who is Diana. nothing can change that.
