My ancestor David MacNish was one of the earliest Pakeha Maori to immigrate to North Island in the 1840s, he married the daughter of a Maori Chief named Te Ani Kaaterena te Moanaroa and they had seven children together I believe

Rutherford came from Havelock. Nelson has a 19th century main street book ended by the two ugliest buildings in New Zealand, The Post Office building at one end and a drab "cathedral" at the other. Yep Hamilton is a superb place to live and you missed the attractive women and the incredible social life.
