The morning video with the live video at night is great. You and Josh have a great combo going, not to mention the guest spots. Hope to still see Hemistorm in the future.
That shock: "I've seen better days". Need to come up with a way to reduce that torque twist though - maybe think a-boot a couple sway bars (one for each rear axle) to reduce that body roll. How's all the gears holding up so far?
Wow can't wait to see the add-ons you do they sound awesome 👍 hay to save some weight how about deleting the servo's for the diffs 👍 can't wait to see the next vid.😁🤘
Well you already stated about shorter shocks/stiffer springs/rear diffuser, but have you thought about slightly wider hexes and running those proline drag slicks? Also I'd run a heavier shock oil in those shocks to slow down that body roll as well
@@scalebuildersguild just ones thought, slow the body and itll track smoother and straighter, I'm cheering you on from across America on this speed challenge, also, have you looked at how your body skirts affect airflow down the side of the truck with the factory lines of the original truck body? That might also help make you track better at speed, cant wait to see you kick Josh's azz next week, lol
I really like this kind of formate . Great to watch . You should add a bit of toe out to the front and put some negativ expo on the steering so it is more under control in a straight line
I don't think making holes in the body is a good idea. You want the air to flow as smoothly as possible, and that's creating a giant void for air to get caught in.
Good job, side skirts look great! Rather than a rear diffuser why not try full ground effect? Ie- totally flat floor underneath from the front skirt all the way back, as low as possible, with a few curved channels rising up to the back (like a diffuser).
I personally don't think you are getting any body roll from torque twist. But limiting those shocks will really help theat. Nice work mat. What a great run. Don't mind Josh. He kinda tends to hit the NOS too early...lol Great video man.. :)
Too thick of diff-grease will slow it WAY down. Just a thought tho...it doesn't make sense that there a 10 mph difference but the same setup. Are the tires the same hight?
Awesome episode, Matt! Please google Bad180sx diffusor. It is pretty monstrous, but definately will get insane visual detail and aero points as well. Btw, don't you consider making full flat bottom for this build for better aero? As i know, rear diffusor works best with flat bottom of the car.
I'll stick to my udr for speed. I like trail crawling better. But i do love these videos. Gives you ideas to upgrade your truck for when times are hard. And you can't afford a new one. Double click on the like button.
SMOOTH THE BODY OUT LIKE A BABY'S BUTT WITH NO DEFLECTION ANYWHERE TO CUT THE WIND TO BAD YOU DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO WIND TUNNEL BUT HEY A 55 GALLON DRUM AN A HIGH SPEED SHOP FAN WITH SMOKE MACHINE WORKS FOR ME HAS WORKED FOR ME FOR YEARS JUST SAYING DUDE! YOU GOT THIS JUST LOOK PAST JOSH'S SMELL FRESH AIR IS IS ON THE HORIZON!!
Pull the guts out of the front axle and the front drive shaft, that will get rid of the torque steer and help you keep it in a straighter line. I find it odd that 1 tooth and tire height got Josh 10 more mph.
USE WINDEX WINDOW SPRAY BOTTLE PICK UP WHITE TUBING TO LIMIT YOUR SHOCK TRAVEL Matt used this for years WILL NOT COLLAPSE UNDER LOAD LIKE FUEL TUBING DOES MAKE IT HAPPEN DUDE!!! FITS THE O/D OF SHAFT PERFECT!!
Just put that steam engine in it and be done with it game over . It will be a tire burner...... literally haha. And why the thumbs down from people? Why ?
Get the headlights covered, ur grabbing a lot of air with the headlights the way they are at the moment....and the hole in the Mercedes 3 pointed star badge...
I am loving this series. My son was asking why I was smiling the whole time watching both your videos. #TeamSBG
#1 love the synchronized post by you and Josh, so cute LOL...
You are in good shape and you got this!!!!! :-) Excellent work so far Matt!!!
Thanks so much!
Can't wait for the rest of the build and the final product!!!
(Rooting for you!!) Sssshhhhh
Love it. Like where you are heading with the project Matt. Looking forward to both examples from you guys.
The morning video with the live video at night is great. You and Josh have a great combo going, not to mention the guest spots. Hope to still see Hemistorm in the future.
Our pleasure!
Is it bad I live 20 min. from Sacramento, but watch Wednesday Live on your channel? 😄
You shuold relocate the battery to under the truck.
Funny. All the stuff you and josh have created, this is wicked cool. I have no interest in going fast or 6x6's but i find this build super intresting.
Cool, thanks!
Those barge boards on the side of the vehicle were outlawed in F1 giving it's such an unfair advantage over the competition:)
That shock: "I've seen better days". Need to come up with a way to reduce that torque twist though - maybe think a-boot a couple sway bars (one for each rear axle) to reduce that body roll. How's all the gears holding up so far?
Love it. That’s fast. Looks like a front sway bar is in order.
Wow can't wait to see the add-ons you do they sound awesome 👍 hay to save some weight how about deleting the servo's for the diffs 👍 can't wait to see the next vid.😁🤘
Looks like you could use some sway bars for that thing!
Hey Matt awesome vid wat about a lcg battery tray to get the weight lower?
Well you already stated about shorter shocks/stiffer springs/rear diffuser, but have you thought about slightly wider hexes and running those proline drag slicks? Also I'd run a heavier shock oil in those shocks to slow down that body roll as well
Already on order!

Nice video matt.
I really like this kind of formate . Great to watch . You should add a bit of toe out to the front and put some negativ expo on the steering so it is more under control in a straight line
You could also flip the chassis so the chassis rails run underneath the axles. Maximum cg improvement
Love the tire's. I think you should cut out windshield and the back window. Next time as much voltage as possible. You have to beat Josh here!
I don't think making holes in the body is a good idea. You want the air to flow as smoothly as possible, and that's creating a giant void for air to get caught in.
@@scalebuildersguild I see.
ground effect solid axle 6x6! because that's totally normal, right?
YES!
Good job, side skirts look great! Rather than a rear diffuser why not try full ground effect? Ie- totally flat floor underneath from the front skirt all the way back, as low as possible, with a few curved channels rising up to the back (like a diffuser).
If I have time, and materials, I'll definitely consider it!
Somewhere on the truck you must have a hardley designed sticker for josh
Loose the pinion and spur. Direct couple the motor to the transmission
I'm rooting for you Matt. You can beat Josh!
I'd really like to!
It looks like that shock has Peyronie's Diseases and should see a doctor. Bahahahaha!
I guess that's what happens when you hit cement barriers at 40+ MPH! I WANT A REFUND TRAXXAS JUNK! 😆
@@scalebuildersguild wait, you're trying to tell me you're not supposed to drive them into concrete barriers and curbs?!?! Ludicrous! Haha!

Thanks for the tips!
Too thick of diff-grease will slow it WAY down. Just a thought tho...it doesn't make sense that there a 10 mph difference but the same setup.
Are the tires the same hight?
It's not yet the same setup, Josh has already done the OD gearing, I haven't.
@@scalebuildersguild Oh...I thought you had the same setup so far.
Tom Lucas no I was speaking in generalities. They’re essentially the same, so the challenge itself will be more about aero and consistency!
Great series. That thing is flying! Where do you get your music for you videos? Always great stuff.
Thanks! I get all my music from Epidemicsound.com
Next monthly mayhem.... taking an armma infraction and making it a trail truck 😂🤷🏻♂️ awesome video as always 👍🏻
I hope ARRMA is watching!
Oh no... tires are directional matt! Passenger side looks like they are facing the wrong way😅😂
Haha, yes, my thanks to Pro-Line for gluing them for me!
@@scalebuildersguild oh no haha oh well! Adds character 😆
That bed is screaming for rocket 🚀 after burners.

That’s awesome I hope you win this one
Sbg ftw 🤙🤙
Break out the scale and check balance?
I think a Faster Traktor is the winner
Hint: Take care of your battery temp! 😉
I'm looking for a suitable snow clearing model for tarmac areas so may 6 x 6 umg with a front raise and lower blade? Any suggestions?
I’ve got zero experience with snow removal and rc’s! Sorry!
@@scalebuildersguild Thanks for your quick reply. Good video as well.

Looks like someone will be baking or boiling his tires lol.
Nah, I doubt these are actually directional. It hurts my brain a bit, but I can deal.

It wasn't just that. I haven't done the OD swap yet!
makes me want to buy a second set of axles for high speed

What's the best top speed traxas car ?
I'd say the XO-1 is probably their king of speed. 100mph+ out of the box.
@@scalebuildersguild i want not so speedy car but yes the the car which van sustain the water, mud etc and will not break
And also in which i will not have to buy other thing for the car to run
Just put that steam engine in it and be done with it game over . It will be a tire burner...... literally haha. And why the thumbs down from people? Why ?
You can do it
Sway bars on all 3 axles.
someone needs to do a 3 motor trx6 one for each axle
I made a dual motor
🤣 Always searching for reasons for deleting portals....
Next time please take a road car and build it to crawl... I think that would be also fun...
That would be a LOT harder as road cars have pans
And a fact you remembered to unlock the diffs. HA HA HA
Every once and awhile, I surprise myself.
My shocks do....
Tell Josh your from Missouri Show Me. lol
Drink every time he says Josh, doesn't even matter which video you will get wasted.
Get the headlights covered, ur grabbing a lot of air with the headlights the way they are at the moment....and the hole in the Mercedes 3 pointed star badge...
Definitely part of the plan.
I love these cars but they r expensive 😟
Josh uses an 18t pinion, u a 17t
I've still got a lot of pinions to choose from.

Pro-Line is Pro-Line. Business as usual.

could you fix your chair before tonight please
NO!

New Subscriber and TRX6 Owner - what did you do to get a RPM sensor in the Traxxas App for the TRX-6?
Changed the ESC to the VXL8, which I do not recommend!
