The playful synergies between the flute(s) and the violins, the themes that get established and rediscovered, all those little melodies and dances - to me this probably is where music peaked. Modern music as a whole completely pales compared to it, it's not even a contest.

Quantz always is overlooked because of the leviathan geniuses of Båch, Händel & Vivaldi, however, he truly is a gifted composer. GIANNI MAXIMILIAN BENNETT. 🏴
I think that one of the reasons that Quantz is overlooked is that he concentrated most of his musical talents on a single instrument, the flute. One can say the same thing for Albinoni whose musical compositions concentrated on the oboe.

But there's a whole treasure house of their pieces that aren't heard, except on recordings. RUclips is opening this up amazingly, and we're in a golden age of rediscovered music. I'm 74, and I just discovered Quantz a couple of years ago.

The quality of the strings openings. Balance between strings. Harpsichord and flute is astonishing. A true masterpiece.

I absolutely love the late baroque. Once we get into the 1760s, it starts getting too silly and frivolous.
