Hello all and welcome back to another video. In today's video I discuss the 5 reasons why you should buy a bmw m2 or m2 competition. Having owned mine for some time now, I can honestly say it is such an epic car for the money and I really struggle to think of a car in this price range that ticks as many boxes as this does. Again, this is all personal preference but for anyone who is considering one, my advice would be to just go out and get one.

What other cars are you considering or did you consider before you bought an m2?
I've been having my OG m2 for almost 7 years and there is nothing else (I can afford) really made me want to switch to. I'm not saying M2 is perfect but nothing is tempting enough?
I will add a 6th. It has two usable back seats unlike a cayman and many other 2 seater cars out there with similar performance
Like you said well equipped, great looks (I fixed the utter look though)lol, performance, handling, and value!
Been looking for my dream sports car for about 2 years looking to spend up to $75k.
I looked at pretty much everything new and used!
New vette, used vette, GT-R, Supra, Viper, 1M, M3, M4, AC Cobra, was also thinking of waiting to see the new Z but glad I didn't!
Almost pulled trigger on a 2015 Porsche Cayman gts totally loaded with original msrp $115k.
But the wife said she'd never step foot in it! Lol
Then I looked into the M2C and saw I can get a new one pretty much loaded with a manual for $58k I was impressed!
Now the wife always wanted me to buy new and she always wanted a new BMW, except she wanted a 7 series which I'd go for, but not a new one! Anyway I came across a new '21 M2C at dealership 4 miles down the road silver, manual, no moon roof, exec pkg. Quoted for $58k over the phone I knew I had to jump on it!
So I told my wife to get ready we're going to get our new BMW! She knew I was up to something especially after seeing the car being brought out by the dealer! Lol
It's not her 7, but it's a 7 minus 5! Lol But she likes it a lot, I think? Lol Well she likes it more than the Cayman anyway! Lol
I don't think I could have got anything new this good and equipped at the price!
I've had it for 2 years now and I still feels as good and as new as the first time I took her out!
No problems so far except for a crushed passenger visor mirror which after I moved the seat forward conveniently using the button on back of seat! Lol
And a "thank you" to my wife for helping to steer me right! 😘 love you baby!

I think a supra comes close, although probably slightly more expensive than a M2 currently, Toyotas very low APR rate make them very similar when it comes to monthly’s 🤔 I’d like to drive one having previously owned a OG M2

I've driven both the GR Supra and M2C. Price-wise they are basically the same now (continental Europe), so it makes a lot of sense. The Supra surely feels more like a sportscar, probably thanks to the chassis and better driving position; it's closer to a Cayman. However, the M2C is more or less superior in any other way. It feels more capable when pushed, it's more fun, the engine is better (though the B58 might be more reliable in the long term), the brakes are better (optional ones), the auto gearbox is better (I hear the manual in the Supra is made/tuned by Toyota and is better than the manual in the BMW), the seats are better and the interior is better. That last one is subjective and some might find the F87 interior very old-looking - that's true (a CD player in 2022? really?). But the Supra's interior is just more generic and arguably less ergonomic. And god that steering wheel is sinfully ugly. I'd also add the practicality aspect, but for me it's irrelevant and I could very well live with a two-seater.
RS3 is the only thing that comes to mind

I again agree with everything you said, the looks are fantastic best looking car out still today, everyone looks at you in it, it really makes you feel special, I'm still on the look out for another one after selling mine 4 weeks ago, there a brilliant brilliant car, if I could afford a garage full of cars 3 of them would be the m2 the m2 competition and of course the m2cs, hats off to bmw, I've owned so many bmw but the m2 really got under my skin, once again thanks for another superb video buddy I really do look forward to seeing you review the mighty m2 competition, just brilliant. If you don't mind me asking, ive never had a RWD car, ive had a golf r, so i am a bit scared of the m2 because of the rear wheel drive, would you guys recommend one? Will it unexpectedly spin out on me? Im in no means a semi-pro or pro driver. Any help or advice appreciated guys 🤞🏽
Hey buddy! It’ll definitely take some getting used to and can catch people out. My advice would be take it easy to learn and understand the car and your confidence will grow naturally. Just don’t go crazy haha

Hi, would you still buy a used M2C for 59k € or would you go with a M140i for half the price and safe the money for engine mods, a diff and different suspension? I mean you would be stil cheaper then with the M2C. I know the M2C would stil drive different, but just would like to know your opinion. The prices for used cars exploded mental. But its still a nice car. With used I mean in mental good condition, looking like new with not even 11.000 km on it.

Funnily enough I agreed with your observations so much that I test drove and bought an M2 Comp this week. I pick it up next Friday. The next few days are going to go really slowly........

Advise please, should I get M2C or 718 cayman S / 718 Boxster S and why....?
It really depends on budget. The cayman is a great car and if it’s the 4.0 GTS/GT4 happy days. But then again the are massively more expensive. The next step for me would be a GT4 as that’s the next level in regards to performance
@@realtorque Thanks for the responded . I compare M2C with 718 Cayman S because the budget for 4.0 CTS GT4 is way out of my pocket...😂
M2/M2C are great and all, but a 981 Cayman S is just as good VFM and more special!

I have a 981CS (GTS spec) and I'll be looking to change it this year, M2C is high on the shortlist but I'm not 100% convinced. It's a shame the 718 has a crap engine otherwise I'd have one & I can't justify the 4.0!
@@Chris-nj1mr hahaha well… the s55 is a wonderful engine and pulls very hard. Of course the chassis isn’t as good asa 981 but in regards to price, for what you’d get like for like the comp defo ticks more boxes. I think I’d be slightly dissatisfied if I moved to a cayman unless it was the 4.0 GTS or GT4, but they are a lot more
@@realtorque cheers for the reply man, all valid points. M4C has even better spec! If you find yourself Norfolk way I'd be happy to do a car swap for a couple of hours, I don't think a well specced 981 would disspoint you tbh
