    The brake is alright for me. When I am on track days, I do a cool down lap between each 2 or 3 flying laps. But the most fun part is throwing it sideways! There is barely any factory spec car that could do it better than the M2 comp. I own it since new, 26000+km within less than 3 years. Going to keep it for a lot more years!

      Glad you’re still enjoying the car after many miles. They’re very capable out of the box for sure but for me the brakes just don’t cut it for track use. Virtually had no brakes after 1 lap of intense braking

    Spot on about the tires - I live in the PNW in the States and it's too cold most of the year to have grip with the MPSS, so I swapped them for Continetal DWS06+ and they have grip in ways the MPSS never did, and made the ride quite a bit softer! I'm loving my M2C more than ever, now. I kept the MPSS and am going to put them on some 437Ms for track.

    Really good vid mate. I’ve had my OG M2 about 2 months. I totally agree with your observations. Brakes and DCT are a bit meh…. Prefer the ZF in my previous Mlite. However it is wicked to drive. I’ve booked my first track day with the car in October. 👍

    I’ve just got rid of an og lci and I’ve been looking at these. Had one for an hour last weekend. Loved the pace and the pick up on it but massively disappointed by how quiet it was in all modes. It doesn’t seem to make any difference what you have it in. I couldn’t hear it at all. It reminded me of a 320i or something even when your on it hard and dropping down the gears no crackles or burbles. I was so surprised I knew the exhaust was bad but not that bad! I’m still looking to get one but I think the first thing I need to do is ditch the gross wheels and bin the exhaust system.

    Hiya man been a big fan for a long time. I've watched you since the polo GTi days and you also inspired me to get that exact car. I've recently sold it and bought a Renault Clio 172 cup which I've already done a couple videos on. I don't expect you to check them out or anything but I just wanted to know if there's any little things that make the difference when it comes to car videos like how to word them or certain tags to use. I ask as I am very familiar with RUclips on the Vlogging side of things and have just hit 1k subs but I'm trying to introduce my love of cars onto the channel now and would love some advice from you as you have always been a huge role model to me for RUclips and cars. Really appreciate the kind words buddy honestly means a lot that my videos have inspired you to first, start a channel and second to go out and buy the car. My biggest tip is to be consistent, I stopped uploading and was very ‘irregular’ with my videos. As a result my views dropped massively. In regards to tags and stuff, just be smart and think ‘what would people search?’ And make sure your tags are in line with your title and what you say on the video.

  • @keithcraig4205

    You make some appalling and unfounded assumptions about BMW technicians driving cars when serving them - not sure you can make such statements. If that was to happen then the individual won't be in a job for much longer. Also you're clearly not aware that there's a serving package that is administered by Emac Ltd. (who do approved servicing packages for most major brands) that significantly reduces the main dealer prices. Look it up. I have one for the next 5 years on my 69 plate owned from new, equates to one free minor service and all MOT's are free and serving on e.g. brake fluid changes etc. is lower than on the spot prices.. Ok, so when we "shop round" for serving, some people always go for the word "cheap" when we forget a few longer term things..... So when your car is out of warranty which I see is Jan. 23, and let's say the crank hub slips or something else major that needs replacing (my diff is being replaced under warranty in 3 weeks time - price it up, 18,000 miles), you'll find that manufacturers like BMW will probably look to offer a "good will contribution" on a major component issue. However, only if it's got main dealer service history thought-out, stands to reason why should they trust some person who's claiming to be to be a "specialist'? So the point being, your "saving on servicing" is actually a potential loss. Me personally, I'd never buy a second hand car like this without main dealer service history. Hope this helps people decide on the pros and cons of serving cars and to focus on over all "value" and not to focus on "cheap". Just like if the as we're focused on, the "all important running in service", if it's not done will reduce the price of the car. As for me, I've had 100% excellent service and faith in my main dealer where I bought my car from as new.

    • @realtorque
      @realtorque  2 года назад +1

      Hi Keith, without getting in to the ins and outs. I have personally had a few bad experiences with BWW. Each to their own where someone takes their car. Personally I wouldn’t take it to just any claimed specialist dealer just to be clear. Where I take my car, is well know BWM specialist and has been dealing with my cars for a number of years. I’ve worked in car sales too (BMW too) and have also seen hands on how ‘some’ treat others cars. Your dealership may be exceptional when it comes to servicing and that’s great. But my experience is very different to yours

    • @keithcraig4205
      @keithcraig4205 2 года назад

      @@realtorque Absolutely I agree each to their own and we pay our money and take the chance. As I said, you should not castigate all BMW franchises and should have said "some personal experiences" that hopefully you raised with the dealership to sort out. From an experience perspective as someone who's spent 38 years in a safety critical industry (nuclear power and previously marine engineering - i.e. heavy engineering and stripped down many, many cars in my own time) and have a lifetime of experience of terminology such as SQEP (suitably qualified and experienced) I ought to know what's what when it comes to qualifications and experience c.f. those garages who say the are "specialists". At the end of the day, your car like mine, was supplied from a BMW franchise and not the independent. Fingers crossed you won't experience any main component issues out of warranty when things can become expensive. Keith Craig B.Eng. C.Eng. FIMechE

    Welcome back Christian! Good to hear you feel back in the zone. Ref the vlog, jeez you do the miles😂. I’ve had mine for 3 years and I broadly agree with your points. Often my journeys can be relatively short (say 5 to 10 miles) and that kills the consumption - my 3 year average is a little over 23mpg tho I have had 30mpg on a long motorway run. MPSS tyres just don’t have the rear grip to handle the power and you’ve added to the positive comments I’ve heard on the 4S tyres. My car has been through BMW main dealers for all its services & yeah it smarts and that’s not the big one at 4yrs which as you say is around £1k. Overall I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and even after 3yrs I still look back after parking it up. The only car I’ve driven recently which made me reconsider - a 2015 981 GT4 - that my friend is another level of stimulation but wouldn’t work as a daily (you know which vlogger we can blame for that with his 718 silver variant) - I still have a back twinge from getting out of the carbon buckets seats😂. Well all the best and keep pushing on with the content. Cheers, Kevin.
