Thank you so much. Please kindly assist with how this can work with paternity testing ? What STR indicate that the alleged father is indeed the father of the child.
Hi, I come from Italy. If for example just 12 of 13 matches but I do other STRs test and I have other 8 matches (in different region from before) , is it enough to convince someone? Thanks
Yes. I know you sent this a month ago, but if you click on the setting cog next to the CC button, there will be a subtitles drop down menu. Unfortunately, for this video, Vietnamese is the only CC option available.
Hey dude, phenotype? As in the physical expression of DNA? These regions are non-coding or "junk dna" and do not code for any proteins... also those(gene area) are very similar to other people (as we all need the same code to create same proteins since we all human and require same things to survive.. so not many changes & not useful in forensics) Somehow our polymerase enzyme or something(guessing, no idea some1help) knows this and that's why these regions 'non-coding' are so different to one another, since our cells know these regions are not special, they don't make a solid enough effort in correcting some mistakes (length polymorphism)-where there can be stutters (skips behind and recopies) or cuts off some dna that has formed a loop (some STR being small bp can cause this to happen naturally) these things cause the size to be quite discriminatory per individual I'm also a student, some of my explanations might not be great/true fact but hope this helps ya
This video made it so much easier for me to understand thank you! Wish I had you to teach my forensics class!
I am also forensic student ❤❤
Straight up goat for making this video as easy to understand as possible.
You are the best to explain this subject and making it easly understandable 👏🏻👏🏻
Amazing video about STR. understandable for everyone. Thanks.
Wao it's an amazing video.

Thank you so much.

The FBI utilizes 20 core loci now
Thank you for this
For my students, the CC is in Vietnamese. Is there a way to change this?
