Loved watching this also , so many of these guys influenced me in billards while I was in the Marines and I got to travel to the Asian countries and play some great players, one country stood out to have the best pool players in general was from Phillipines.
A new episode comes out 9/1/2022 and features some great stories from the road from all 3 of our esteemed hosts. We appreciate your comment and hope you enjoy our coming content.
I've met Mike a few times at the Super Billiards Expo outside Philly and his passion for the game is still obvious. Although, his passion is more for being involved in pool leagues than in playing. He was quite giving of his time and I enjoyed his chats.😁👍
I attribute what I know now from watching these guys and studying the shots they've made. I always love pool stories. I think it's what really separates it from other sports.
Just a heads up, we changed our Cue Tips schedule to do an early release on one of Mike's 9-ball break tips that he gave Paul Newman. The other tip is on its way, so please stay tuned!
Earl was, and still is an outstanding pool player, but did he ever try snooker, and if not why not, 'cause it's a good sport too, and 3-ball billiards is also good on a big table just like snooker?
I want to know (Were do you get off calling me a boy?) On your podcast Mike its been 25 years since we seen each other Hey Kim tell pierce the story when we flipped a coin to see who he would play well you won the flip and 2 hrs latter he broke us remember? Then we went to Sambos and had a taco eating contest.Reed will get a kick out of that story. That's when you started to play the circuit Good Fortune to Mike,Kim,and Reed !!!
All I can say is LEGIT- Sigel hold over 103 Pro titles including 10 World Championships............Shall we discuss this? No One is even close to his titles.
Sigel is our of his mind, today's players are so much better than ANY of the guys from the 90s, I guess Sigel in his prime could beat Fedor Gorst, SVB, Alex, Orcollo, Filler, Chohan, These are just a few off the top of my head, Reed Piece won the 95 Us Open, and was never heard from again until this segment, Davenport never won a Major, a shame
I totally disagree. Today's players are NOT "so much better" than any of the guys Siegel is referring to, believe me. And YES, Siegel in his prime was fully capable of beating ANYONE! From either then, or any of today's top players, including Efren. Those guys could flat out play, and when they were at their best they NEVER missed! I was around then, I saw them all, and I still watch the guys today, too, and they are actually pretty close in their abilities. Styles have changed, rules have changed, equipment has changed (and has actually improved), but the skills are roughly equivalent. If I had to bet on some of those old guys when in their primes against many of today's players, I would pick the old guys most of the time. Also, NO jump cues were in use back in their day, so they had to be able to kick at balls OR jump with their playing cue.
Back then, there were only maple shafts made by a hand full of good cue makers, 3 different tips to choose from, the cloth was much slower so you had to have a great stroke and the balls were not engineered like the ones today. Most players today could not play at the speed you see them with these conditions.
@@dshadow3173 Exactly right. And, not to mention, the triangles we used to rack those less-than-perfect balls were prone to leaving gaps in between the balls, thus often resulting in poor breaks, clusters, and far more dry breaks. And those maple shafts back then, as good as they were, were not of the low deflection type that are in use today. Another thing to consider was the lighting we had, which was often not nearly as good as what they have nowadays. These players today want everything just so, and if things aren't perfect and up to their standards, then they are want to complain about them, as though playing under anything other than perfect conditions would be unacceptable. It's no wonder Efren can play as well as he can, just look at the table conditions he o doubt played under as he was learning. I'll bet he never hardly got to play with new balls, or on new cloth, and they played in that high humidity which made everything sluggish, so they had to develop strong strokes in order to move the cueball around the table.
@@dshadow3173 I've said that over and over. You had to actually have a real stroke to play then. The balls weren't as reactive and cloth much slower. Players today can poke the ball and go 3 rails.
This content is Gold! "Kimmer" "Captain Hook" & Reed "Feed" Pierce. 170+ titles combined!
O Wow. I saw this and Subscribed immediately. PBT? Bring it back!

Why is Earl not here? ‘Love every bit of this. Earl’s personality should be a good addition to this group.
Keep it going telling the gambling stuff from back in 70s and 80s thanks
Hope Mike shares the 2 break tips he gave Paul Newman 😆

Mike the mouth Siegel name fits him perfect
You, sir, are not wrong... But that's just part of the reason why we love him...
Lol Buddy Hall said it best "That Siegel was always looking for a ear man even it was his opponent "

Sigel or davenport need to be captain of the mosconi instead of jermy jones they are way better than jermey
All of you just cannot accept Efren is and still the best ever. Bitter Americans!!
These guys are great but I do think the top five of today would wax the top five of their era
So you saying that the new players could beat Efren Reyes the GOAT in his era.
@@anastaciogriego9279 yeah you're right probably not.
