- Demon's Souls Remake is a beautiful, yet somewhat outdated game. It inspires awe in me but also makes me think how awful it is. It makes me question why it is loved, but also makes me fall in love with it. It's a toxic relationship... and I want more.

I'm not so sure about the remake being faithful. In terms of gameplay and overall systems, sure, but the art style misses the mark in most places, reimagining the ethereal haziness of the original as.. Diablo. It just looks a lot like contemporary fantasy to me. It is graphically amazing, but what all of those polygons create are not all that interesting. The soundtrack too is more bombastic and dramatic, instead of being more a subdued, atmospheric soundtrack with instruments that sound a little out of tune. Remake is the better way to play the game, but I cannot say the same for the overall experience itself. Not that I miss the endless auto-save bug, the stacking sound effects, the random 15 fps moments and the massive load times.

I've heard this opinion a lot actually! I wouldn't know since I haven't played the original, but seems like this is a common opinion with those who started with the original.

Demon souls did not age well and it's soo pretty
Yeah some stuff is pretty outdated, but most if not all of it is addressed in later Souls games so that's good. And yeah the game is beautiful! I think it looks better than Elden Ring graphically.
@@JustinBae I would actually argue it looks BETTER than Elden Ring. Elden Ring has the same anti-aliasing issues that Dark Souls 3 had (because it's largely the same engine). It graphically looks decent, but it does leave a bit to be desired on a technical level.
Demon's Souls was made in a different engine and it's extremely noticeable, especially in the lighting and smoothness of the image
