Dumba has been mid to just straight up bad for us in Dallas (outside of flattening dudes in the neutral zone), but Boosh has been surprisingly good. He doesn’t produce much offense, but as a shut down Dman he’s been great and has been a huge contributor to our league best PK.
As a Sharks fan I’d love to see Grier turn that Dal 1st rd pick and another player (Ferraro?) into Simon Nemec this offseason. Would be incredible if we can add Schaefer AND Nemec in one off-season. I like the trade for both teams, feels fair, both teams get good value for what they gave up.
I would LOVE this but if he doesn't, don't be surprised if he uses it to move up in the draft like he did last year with Pittsburgh's 1st to move up and get Sam Dickinson.
That’s what I’m saying! He’s gone on record saying he’s not happy with where he’s at in their lineup. He’d easily be the number one guy in SJ. Nemec would be good as well.
As a sharks fan I am at a net neutral on this trade. While it’s great asset management by Grier it’s tough because he was a great mentor for the young guys like Celebrini and Smith. Hopefully they can make a move for veteran presence in the offseason and maybe use that Dallas first rounder for a solid middle of their 20s kind of guy.
I feel the same. This is one of those rare cases where I hope they bring Granny back in the offseason. His relentlessness and leadership is so needed on this team.
As a sharks fan - this is a massive win. A first for these guys is amazing. However i am very sad to see Granlund go. Hes been fantastic for the sharks, especially for the development of Smith, Celebrini and Eklund.
Lybushkin has been really good, he plays just straight defense and that’s okay because it’s his position. He’s not trying to be in highlights, he’s playing his position.
3:06 what are you talking about? lybushkin has been awesome. He’s fit really well into the stars system. Dumba has been strait ass but you’re wrong about lybushkin.
I wouldn't worry about that, the draft this year outside of top 16 is looking below average. Although, any new prospect in the Dallas Stars system right now would be good because we don't have ANY (except for hemming) rn.
I hope Seattle doesn’t sign Granlund… The only high profile UFA Seattle has any business being in on is a winger that is a reliable 30 goal scorer who is a legitimate threat to score 40 goals. I’d say Rantanen and Marner are the only potential UFA’s that fit that profile, although I think both resign with their current teams.
Sharks got sooooo fleeced. They should have re-signed him to help Celebrini + Toffoli carry the team. The only situation where I would recommend trading Granlund is if they wanna go ALL IN for Wyatt Johnston like how the Leafs went all in for Phil Kessel in 2009
How you figure. Sharks ain't competing yet. This pick gives the 2 1st round picks. 2 second you could bundle couple picks to move up get a top 15 player. So for the sharks irs a positive. We have cap space to sign better talent as free agents.
@@chuch723 The Leafs traded the 2010 2nd overall pick (Tyler Seguin), the 2011 9th overall pick (Dougie Hamilton), and a 2010 2nd round pick for a 21-year-old Kessel in 2009 to make the playoffs 4 years later. Should the Sharks follow suit 16 years later?
Can’t wait for the Mike Bartner notification on my phone “Elias Peterson is a New York Islander!”
LMFAOOOO CANT WAIT

Wow! No one predicted this shocking outcome!!
Thank you, I was about to make the same comment. I think people just assume he’s gonna be bad. He’s been great this year.

Lybushkin has been very good in dallas btw, Dumba is hot ass
Lyubushkin's been very good. He's a +11 with Dallas, which is the third best amongs their defensemen. Hoping Ceci turns out like him.
Makar half retained to Tampa for a conditional 2nd
Sounds fair
I fucking wish lol
If I'm the sharks i'm flipping that first and maybe another asset for a guy like Bowen Byram from buffalo.

“MG doesn’t offer much defensively?” He plays the PK in San Jose
Yea, it's the Sharks though.
They are lower 20s penalty so not very well
Freeing up cap space for Mikko Rantanen this offseason
If we manage to get Mikko, I’ll go streaking in front of SAP Center. Seems like a pipe dream though
With the cap going up we'd have enough space for him even if we didn't trade Granlund
LMFAOOOOO that'd be wild
I think there's more chance that they offer sheet a young guy like Connor Zary or JJ Peterka
Lyubushkin has actually been surprisingly quite good on the stars.. definitely not bad
I just wonder when my Ducks are going to be competitive again and maybe make big trades……(Ik we really should be selling but that’s besides the point)
You making hilarious face expressions in thumbnails 🤣🤣

Lyubushkin has actually been pretty good lol. Our PK is elite largely because of him
Totally agree - his defense has been good all year.
He doesn't appear in the box score but if you watch the games he is good defensively every game
Thoughts on Finland for 4 nations after Heiskanen injury?
Dallas isn’t done I don’t think. Dumba will be gone.
Lybushkin has been really good, he plays just straight defense and that’s okay because it’s his position. He’s not trying to be in highlights, he’s playing his position.
I am just wondering you didn’t talk about the Flames and Flyers trade?

Granlund is better defensively than you think. Plays on the PK and pretty reliable overall
Man the trade deadline is today I guess
The pre 4 Nations deadline is real
Toronto won the trade easily
Valid
TSN ahh
My dude you say everyone sucks defensively😂 granlund was on the PK and wasn't bad
Consistently brutal underlying defensive numbers even away from San Jose the last 5-6 years.
@MikeBartner alright I'll believe you lol. What site you get this info from
dallas finish mafia have spoken. get granlund here ASAP :)
I wanted Granlund on my Leafs so badly
That wasn't gonna happen 😔
I don’t love seeing Dallas trade 1sts when you have that drafting resume
I wouldn't worry about that, the draft this year outside of top 16 is looking below average. Although, any new prospect in the Dallas Stars system right now would be good because we don't have ANY (except for hemming) rn.
Watch Grier flip that Dallas first rounder and a piece or lower pick for a higher first rounder
Wouldn’t mind that this years draft is pretty weak after top 15
@ I think the lower part of the middle of the first round will produce some hidden gems. If we miss out on Schaefer maybe Jackson Smith with that pick
good move by GM Jim Nill , just hope that Granlund won't be his own Pittsburgh version.
BRO IT‘S BICHSEL NOT BISCHEL😫😫😫
I think Evan bouchard. Would not trade musty by any means. Id trade borduleau

who?
I'm not a fan of Granlund or Ceci.
Good to know
Grandlund is good but Ceci is horrendous
You better call somebody. Awful

Casual take
A 32 year old UFA isn’t getting a franchise forward in a deal lmao.
@@TheDoooburner add some 1st round picks and a D
