This was absolutely beautiful! You started on State Street, South, right where I would come into downtown. Lived here all my life, I'm 64 now. This is the only way I'll see downtown now. Thank you 😊
Hi Michele, thanks for the heartwarming comment. It makes me truly happy that this video allowed you to experience downtown Chicago again :) wishing you all the best.
Northern States are so cool! I live in SC and it’s very rural with houses everywhere. We rely on roads for everything and nothing is this close tougher or connected like it is in New York or Chicago. I’m considering on eventually moving up north but it may be a bit of a culture shock.
Hi 🙋🏻♂️ Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed this tour! Let me know your thoughts below. What’s your favourite location, where should I visit next?
Loved this so much! Felt really immersed. Going to visit the city really soon for the first time and my excitement exponentially grew after this video. The ronin 4d is so smooth and I also loved the look, this anamorphic lens images are insanely beautiful. But as you said, must been a really intense workout. Awesome job!
@@Joey_Helms Surely it doesn't snow in summer though does it? For people who are looking to escape hot climates and see snow (me), surely winter is the best time to go?
This is the best looking walking video I've seen on RUclips. Amazing job. You should do a video showing the nightlife in Fulton Market next. Milwaukee Ave. in Wicker Park and the high-end stores on Oak St./Walton/Rush are also beautiful urban settings for another cinematic walking tour.
Great video! Thanks for taking us along with you on your walk. Well done, sire! I love Chicago and miss it. I went to college there, met tons of really cool people, along with my wife almost 40 years ago. We are in suburbs now, so I really don't go into the city anymore since I retired from Teaching Golf and DIversey Driving Range in 2021. Chicago is beautiful and I love Lake Shore Drive. (The song, too). LOL. Thanks again.
I don't understand this vicious comparison. Both cities are radically different from each other, both historically and in every other way, and for that reason they are what they are today. Such an opposition is absolutely unnecessary at a time when the two poles of the world - the West and the East - are once again at the bottom of their relations. The Western World should support each other more, and not eat ourselves from the inside.
@@MartinNikolov01agreed but I would say Toronto is the city most close to Chicago and vise versa. They're like mirror versions of each other, across the great lakes: both the hubs of their respective regions with booming cores and sprawling suburbs as far as the eye can see. They have comparable architecture and cityscapes with lakefront parks, beaches, industrial canals, marshes and woods around the outskirts of the city but not much natural beauty other than the lake, and plenty of rail infrastructure. They both have histories dominated by industry but have adapted to modern times with diversified economies and ever changing cityscapes, something many other American and Canadian cities are struggling with. They both have their respective problems yet they remain hubs of opportunity and culture. People often compare Chicago to Philadelphia but I think Toronto is the most accurate comparison.
Beautifully done. Such a cool combination of landmarks, people watching and street scenes. From what I could gather from seeing your reflection in the Bean, you were handheld - impressive. Loved your footage of Michigan Ave. - Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower especially. Would have loved a few more seconds of LaSalle Street “canyon” looking south, but that’s a quibble. Born and raised here and worked downtown for over 30 years. Used to take lunchtime or sanity time walks over much of the same ground. One nit - at 31:29 it’s Wacker Drive not street. Thank you for sharing this. Frankly I couldn’t stop watching it.
Thanks! :) happy you enjoyed it. Yeah I had to cut LaSalle short to time it with the fireworks and also handheld has its limits. Ooops, I used to live on Wacker. Was an Autopilot error 😅
Absolutely stunning footage. You made Chicago look so cool and chill....also....great stamina with the gimble!!!!. Great colors. What camera did you film this on?
Palma de Mallorca is the most visited city per square mile in Europe & the second most visited city in the world per square mile & in 2023(most tourists ever in the history of Mallorca) it is expected to be the most visited city in the world per square mile
This is actually a big thing. You should create a separate channel for this type of videos. All the other ones are crap, bouncing like crazy. People watch the crappy ones. Could tell right away that you were using the Ronin 4D. Need to visit all the European capitals, Tokyo, anywhere and everywhere. You might need to invest in a Rode Stereo VideoMic X to get the immersive sound. I assumed you were using a Ready Rig or Easy Rig?
Chicago is gang city but keeps the downtown area clean of a skid row like environment. Still there’s crazy people, mfs who got out the hood just to move closer to the shore.
The city of Chicago need escalators to go up and down them elevated trai lines especially during the spring and hot summers when the sun is constantly beaming and scoping all the vulnerable people out that's bir healthy enough to walk up all them stairs ! Also the city if Chicago should go monorail or pull all of the electricity from ground level and put them on over the train cars on electrical line chords in order to prevent people from getting electrocuted by these third rails ! I also jear that all if them rails are dangerous !

That's my city downtown look better then that trash. New. York. City tell you
The images are just gorgeous...but what impresses me the most is the cleanliness of Chicago , wow, that is just pure gold nowadays.
Chicago is by far one of the cleanest cities US cities I've been to.
Looks like a movie set

Time will slow down if you do move. Also people are very nice in Chicago.
Mid-West city chicago is...
Just gorgeous. Best "walking" video on YT.

This cinematic style is A+... thanks for doing this

World class city. Looks way better than Toronto
Toronto just as good though.
@@DINGOS30 nope. No contest, Chicago is better. The only thing worse about Chicago is crime, but it’s concentrated in only certain areas of the city

That’s pretty awesome! Great timing and ending. Having walked through this city thousands of times, it’s awesome to actually see this captured. 👏👏👏
Thanks Danny!
The camera quality is A1. Very cinematic film. You could shoot a whole movie with it.

Faszinierend diese Stadt! Super Aufnahmen!👌👍
Love ChiTown!
This is gorgeous! You've inspired me to do the same in my city
Thank you so much for this video!
This is the best quality walking tour I've ever seen. This is insanely beautiful. Is it the color grading?
Thanks so much 🙌 the look is created by a mix of colour, camera, stabilisation, and the anamorphic lens

Thanks for a nice walk video, inspiring, of course I subscribe to your channel, greetings from Sweden😊😊🎉
Great stuff. How’d you get it so smooth with handheld? No rig at all, just soft hands?
Thanks :) the camera has a built in gimbal
I like this.
Is foley added in post? Its incredible. This is so immersive
Yes it mostly is. I didn’t have an audio recorder running that time but considering it for the next one
Looks like a big American city❤
oh gee idk maybe because it is?

Amazing!!
Very very nice Joey! Can I please ask what is your mic setup here? Also, what T stop is the Saturn on? And are you pulling focus throughout?
Cheers! Internal mic, plus some pre recorded SFX, wide open, manually pulled focus throughout.
I remember the random alley lol
The sculptors are as dead looking as the city. Gives me the shivers looking at the place. Next trip will be to Praque.
i saw chicago booth school of business at 47:18. how is that possible? isn't the campus of u chicago in the outside area of chicago?

Chicago really is Gotham city.

Ever hear of the foreigner who wondered why they often see a Roman numeral III after Chicago?
Nothing impressive about it. Just a bunch of buildings and traffic. But at least it looks pretty clean.
Good quality. But this place is garbage. Don't like a smooth 4k video of downtown fool you
Who will follow me, get good luck this year 😊
