Have one for over 1.5 years and logged over 3000 km. It’s not the most powerful (I have the EU version) but it gets the job done. I agree with your points about the brakes and the front wheel axle. Bought mine using government subsidies and it cost me less than 900 euros. Very happy with mine.

Well personally for me if I had a Family and toting kids about, First off I certainly would convert to hydro brakes which is a fairly simple fix,
Granted there are quite a few “marginal components” on the bike that will eventually need replacing, although the bike is evidently well maintained and is working for you and your beautiful kids are enjoying the bike and you are riding safely,
So with that said I say cheers to you and your family, Ride Safe and keep on peddling…

Proprietary wheels would make this a no go by itself, that's stupid IMO. Nevermind about the cable discs or not being usable by someone tall, or qr front.

Cheap breaks.. that’s fine, just upgrade. Dont ride so fast. Even cheap rim breaks do ok so long as your not riding like a chain gang
Cheap electrics however…. That’s another things

the build quality on these bikes is awful. every component aside from the shimano stuff comes from a C grade chinese factory. don't believe? take apart the headset "bearing." compare the brakes to the ride share bikes in your city. they're the same cheap disposable calipers with pistons that actuate at an angle = constant bent rotors, uneven pad wear. i can guarantee they don't even sequence weld the frames or rack accessories. i would exercise huge caution with any radpower bike. many of my local shops will not even work on these.
