Thanks for reviewing this product sir. I was trying to decide if this was worth buying this hand held electric planer from WEN. I think it will definitely work to flatten the new table top I just built! Great video
Was my exact reaction to a Jointer i purchased and had the same reaction again when i aquired a bench planner. Awsome to see you get excited like i did. Cool i found someone pretty much on my level of this wood thing. And we also have the same table saw and ryobi tools. Maybe some videos of my own in the future! Keep them coming man!
Do it man! You have my follow, and that is good to hear. I love working with my hands and learning new things, but yes, I am very much a beginner! Looking forward to the coming years - I hope to get into more fine wood working and I’ll definitely make videos of it all. Thank you for your comments.
Long story short, I ask for it a long time ago and it was a Christmas present. I will probably switch it out for a Ryobi down the road. Such an awesome tool!
One possible reason one might get this one instead: It's only $40. Ryobi's 18+ cordless hand planer with the same specs is around $120 (bare tool). Their corded planer is around $140. If you weren't planning on using it very often, you might like spending the extra $100 elsewhere.
Please, enlighten me. I have never used one before so I unboxed it for the first time to experience it. Tell me all that you know about it? I need to learn
That’s why it costs around $40. It’s too inconsistent, but I think it’s really great if you have to flatten a certain area of your sub floor, or just take a board down a little bit. I just recently picked up a jointer and will pretty much only use that from now on. I am a intermediate woodworker at best, so this was just a basic look at this Wen planer, nothing more. I hope to always continue my learning and education of these tools to help others who may be around my amount of experience.
@@UseWhatchaGot it's a fun hobby. I don't recommend turning it into a business though. After 20 years it's gotten old unfortunately as I love woodworking. Im glad you're continuing to learn.
@woodworkingandepoxy643 no desire for that! I wouldn’t mind making some money from it but I do love using my hands to create something. If anything, I really want to just become a better woodworker and maybe make some cool things to share! I’m also more than happy to be told I am wrong and learn from those mistakes.
@@UseWhatchaGot I wish I had time to. I have orders right now for stuff 6 months in advance. From what I gather from full time woodworkers who do RUclips it just takes too much time to set up good camera angles and then edit. I'm barely sleeping as it is lol
Great video. I need a budget planer to kickstart some projects and honestly I’m sold.
Great detailed demo vid! now I may get one myself! Thank you!
Thank you, hopefully it was helpful.

That is great to hear! I hope it goes well for you!
Thank you! I'm going to buy the Wen 4-3/8" planer. I have a benchtop planer, but this will be really useful too.
The bench top planer is my next big purchase! I am sure it is really nice to have.
@@UseWhatchaGot It will be indeed.

Maybe a love connection here?
It’s fun to connect with people on here!
U have alot of ryobi. Why not the 18+ cordless planner from them?

Ryobi is a good mark

Yeah that is a good point. I only use it on occasion and it does a great job, very clean cut.
It would have been better to have left it to someone who knows what they are talking about.

Using any plane whether electric or not doesn't guarantee youre going to flatten anything

@woodworkingandepoxy643 ever think about making videos to share your years of experience?
