I love how these are actually hobbies that you do FOR yourself and your own enjoyment. I feel like hobbies nowadays often have to "pay up", e.g. if you don't have an Etsy shop or turning your hobby into a productive thing, you're doing it wrong. When it's so important to have activities that you enjoy just for the sake of doing them. So thank you for these fun tips! :)

I love this video so much 😭🎉 I started the new year by creating a “playroom” for myself. It has library books, coloring books, board games, paint, vinyls, nails polish, my switch, and I just got a Lego flower set. 📚 🎨 👾

    Cheers to a cozy year!

If you're getting back into books attention wise, and you also go off on a train of thought listening to audiobooks - try both together! Follow along, it helped me a lot. After half a book I was back into reading independently and having the attention for it.

I used to love writing as a kid and I really thought I would be a writer someday. Didn't pan out and I haven't tried writing anything (besides some journaling) in probably a decade. But your enthusiasm in this video made me go write for 20 minutes and wow it was a blast. Wrote a cute little romcom moment based on a recent experience I had, so much fun! Thank you so so much for that bit of encouragement! ❤

I love this video and idea 🥹💕 I would also recommend:
    1. Doing stuff with beads. Weather it's those that can be ironed after completing the pattern or those that you pull on a little wire to create stuff.
    2. Puzzles. Simple, classic ☺️
    3. Making preserves - jams, pickles, etc
    4. Collecting things - leaves, flowers, cool rocks, shells. Something to connect you to nature.
    5. Learning useful stuff - how to sew on a button, how to bake bread, how to make basic repairs around the house.
    Have fun y'all 💖

I love all of your ideas. And you're so right. Regardless of how this translates from my mind to beads, it's so relaxing to focus on the ritual of beading and so rewarding to see it come to life. I hope you make more of these videos encouraging people to focus and relax!

And if you don't want to use actual supplies, there are lots of coloring apps - great if you have a tablet. When I want to zone out, I put on a podcast and open Happy Color. I also find things like word games and crossword puzzles relaxing - achallenging puzzle can keep me occupied for a while.
Oh...and gluebooking! Use a cheap notebook or (or any publication you would normally throw out/recycle - catalogs, brochures, etc.) and glue stuff in it (magazine images, product packaging, paper scraps, etc.). That's it. It doesn't have to be pretty, it doesn't have to make sense, and you don't have to show it to anyone - don't think, just glue. If you are feeling more creative, you can try collaging, which a more intentional combination of images, textures and colors. There's lots of good gluebookers and collagers here on YT if you need some inspiration. 😊

Sometimes deep cleaning or organizing my home while listening to wholesome audiobooks is cozy for me. Other times, watching bullet journal videos on RUclips while sipping a cup of warm tea. Also, almost anything that is on the PickUpLimes channel, just cozy as is. I also love the act of lighting scented candles with a match (that sound can't be replced by anything, soooo cozy to me) and watch them, sipping a cup of cinnamon tea and listening to lofi music. I have 3 cats, it is very cozy to pet them, kiss them, listening them purr and I especially love it when one of them curls up in my arms and falls asleep 🥰🥰 After cleaning our home, I usually turn on dim lights and listen to chill music and just walk around barefoot, that's also a cozy feeling. Whenever I take all my clothes out and say goodby to the ones I haven't ised for so long and I know I never will, and only put the ones back that I am actively using, I feel so cozy and wholesome and free, and fresh. These are my cozy things 😊

This is such a cute video. I watched while doing my cross stitch 😂 another hobby i have is making wreaths - at first i just made a base from old coathangars twisted together but then i bought a wicker wreath base from a craft shop and it's much prettier. I use ribbons, or go to my backyard or down to the river near my house and clip leaves and flowers, and just stick em in there. It definitely isn't pinterest-worthy but i don't care, it's fun and relaxing for me.
We got the kids a Switch for Christmas and i think i might need to "borrow" it and check out some of these cosy games. I haven't played anything except Mario kart since i was a preteen, the Sims came out when i was in uni and i didn't have time to play it.

I would add yoga to the list; it’s the coziest form of exercise! Cat-cows, twists, child’s pose all feel SO good in the body, and it keeps your mind in the present. It can be as intense or cozy as you want - either way, you’re being productive, because you’re moving and stretching your body. It’s hard not to feel even just a little bit better after doing yoga.

Love your video! Lots of great ideas. Some things I've done recently includes stenciling, watercolor painting, paint by number, collecting stickers and washi tape, writing letters, collecting rubber stamps, making soap, learning calligraphy, and growing my own herbs indoors. I recently got a needle felting kit on etsy but haven't tried it out yet.

I love so many of these ideas! I'm becoming addicted to your channel. 🌺🌸💮 Reading and listening to podcasts is my go-to cozy activity when I'm under major stress, but I love the ideas you have. And that you're always in search of the things that will give you "cozy joy." I'm a stress magnet, with lots of things around me that induce anxiety. So I'm always looking for that next thing to add to my Cozy collection. I do embroidery (what used to be called crewel) because my mom gave me her 50-year-old framed crewel embroidery to keep. And it inspired me. There are lots of freebie patterns online, and it requires only a few things to get started. Also, macrame!! It's back in style, after all these years. And it's easy. I'm still using little kits, but I can see that I'll be quickly graduating to freestyle pretty soon. Also, one more thing... I totally agree that magazines are the ultimate cozy. When I was in the hospital, and having a rather painful surgery done, I couldn't focus on anything that required my hands doing anything. But magazines gave me a peaceful feeling. 💚

Also! In terms of magazines at 11:44 everyone should try zines if they haven’t! Artist produced and always unique. Plus, you will be directly supporting someone. If you’re in nyc a great place to get some is Desert Island, Bluestockings or Caffeine Underground. There are so many other coffee shops and bookstores that carry them too. If you’re looking to get them directly from art stores try Paperboy off the J train. Anyway that’s the zine talk of the day, hope this helps someone find something new.

It’s funny that you bring up magazines. I get my kids one called, The Week, and it’s a nice summary of what’s happening in the world and shares a little on everything, tech, animals, sports, etc and I always end up reading it after them. And even has a puzzle/sudoku or “find what differences” in the back to bring in another hobby.

Literally for writing in my journals or taking notes, etc. I also make journals and planners and that is a super relaxing activity and fun! I do crochet as well and on my bucket list for 2023 id learning to knit. This year I did buy a few books to read but my goal is to also read through books I purchased in the past and never read. 🙂

As for magazines, I highly recommend the Reader’s Digest! It’s so affordable... like $10 for a year if you subscribe. The magazine is pocket size.... perfect for your handbag or glove box (or bathroom!). Great for travel. Inside are great stories and information you’ll find nowhere else. Also funny stories, jokes, vocabulary building quizzes.... I can’t recommend it enough. You can collect them... or when you’re done with an issue leave it somewhere for someone else to enjoy. You WILL learn something.. and build vocabulary at the same time.
