In the second example can motivation be predictor variable?
Like salary's relationship with job performance and motivation's relationship with job performance ? Can it happen? Just curious to know

if employee get good salary they will motivate and their performance will be good in this case it can call it mediating variable.

In the said example motivation is a moderating variable because even if employees salary is good their performance is not increased accordingly. For example government employees, they are usually not motivated even after good salary.
