Dude that ad was 1min long
And you advertising it here
I hope that bag was worth it
We got robbed of 808 Mello x Pop Smoke, they made some of the greatest drill music in history
Did melo have any part of the album? I feel like it would of turned out a lot better if he did
💯
@@akaleoh No, even Brush 'Em got fucked with by removing his 808's. Fuck Steven Victor and Ricobeats.
@@akaleoh nah not even one bits😒
@@modarnwarfare2rull fuck em again
The album doesn't feel like a POP SMOKE album. It feels more like a compilation album of the industry and one dead man who happens to be on all 20 songs. Also 20? 20 tracks? We don't need 20+ track albums. Speaking of which, some of the features I'm not happy
True af also he was not himself due to features, pop smoke himself told that i don't like features cause he don't like people or trust them.... His label is at blame man.. smh
You said it perfectly
Fax I expected way more but they put too many tracks, bad features and I only liked like 3 songs which r on my Playlist.
Yeh fair like I’d rather have two 10 track albums
Exactly no aggressive pop wtf?
Pop Smoke was a feature on his own album.
Felt like more than once too.
We now realize how much we appreciate 50's involvement for his last album. He tried his best to keep the integrity of the album and Pop Smoke's legacy. Last album will last a few more years and appreciated by many but this one will only last a few months and be appreciated by the artist who were featured on the album.

They just need 808 Melo, I believe he's more creative then a lot these producers they had on there
Agreed. Too bad he did the beat long before UMG mixed it with Rah Swish and Smoke's vocals the wrong way.
If 50 cent was involved it would’ve been a better album, when he executive produced SFTSAFTM it sounded like a finished album unlike this album. There were a few good songs tho.
It sounded that way because PopSmoke had already finished 80- 90 of the Album. So 50 didn't have much to do. This last one a few completely done songs. And the rest had to be made. ITS never gonna sound exactly like what PopSmoke wanted because his not hear,we will never get another album by him. People complained about SFTS AFTM and the features and it's still on the charts. God bless his Mom and brother Obasi. To many features and only 2 friends. But he was trying to do more melodic less dril music. We wanted to be a globally star.He did that.
@@kaykayjohnson9427 facts ppl aren't going to understand this they seem to expect the album to come out and be exactly how Pop Smoke would've made it if he were still here
Right
The only song I liked was bout a million with 21 savage
@@kelvinbirch5641 same, I liked Manslaughter and the song he did with TakeOff as well.
Pop smoke would have never worked with Rick Ross. Pop Smoke idolized 50 cent. RIP POP SMOKE
Lmao😂😂
JAY-Z and Pop Smoke (both from Brooklyn, NYC)... yeah, more awful than that. JAY-Z would mess it up more!
how do u know my guy lol but u have a point rick ross not the drill type
And who’s bright idea was to put dua lippa and Kanye on it? Was Kanye’s 20 sec talk into the mic necessary? Nope.
@@quinnbuseman2997 Of course. Kanye calls himself doing Christian rap, but now he is back to talking s*** on this track? The worst move ever.
Putting rick Ross on this album is so disrespectful to 50. Let’s be honest do they really think pop smoke would work with Ross? 50 was pops mentor. This album will not destroy pops legacy at all , he’s not here. But it will destroy Steven watever his name is reputation .
Why Rick? Why put him on the album? He didn't fit. Neither would JAY-Z if that would be more horrible.
Damn, that was a good song though. Haven't heard The Dream in awhile
The song is not bad though, the real cringy track is the one with kid Cudi
Y’all stuck in 04’ get over it… Ross is more relevant and successful in music right now than 50 is or has been in like last 15 years. Pop smoke was not signed to 50
Rick bodied that song tbh
Pop Smoke label wants to get a quick bag, it was too soon to drop that new album. Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon is going good on the charts still being out for a while year.
For real, I bump that sh*t on a daily when I'm gaming. It's forever gonna be in tbe mix! 😌🎧
Exactly
I'm mostly mad at both Steven Victor and the Lipman bros., but more at Sir Lucian Grainge for how they wrongly executed it.
All we wanted is 808 Melo x Pop smoke coz this is the best duo ever
i remember xxxtentacion, this is exactly what they did to x’s album.
Worse
Same with Diddy and Biggie's posthumous works. Somehow, Swizz was convenient with DMX's Exodus, but Blackground and Aaliyah's compilation in 2002? No! Only "I Miss You" was the best body of work. "Hood Blues", okay. But this. No! No! No! No!

DM you always have thorough and well explained content one of the best
Correction he didn’t pass away, he was murdered.
But he did die. So he passed bruh
You know it's bad when the "top shotta" has a fckn adlib thats literally just a screaming *"SHEEEEEEEESH"* and it's on a Pop Smoke song
So basically they've ditched Pops best producer, the producer that helped him reach fame in the first place(808 melo) as well as others who had involvement in SFTSAFTM and other famous trax and they have just left em with nothing to do with the new album. Americans bruh🤦🏿♂️, this is why whoever is in charge of pops music didn't drop 808 melos version of AP and instead dropped sum basic trap style version, For those of you who haven't, go check 808 melo for pops original beats and the original song 'AP' and you will see the difference🤦🏿♂️
This is why executive producer are important. People think they do nothing and are lazy.
We all know the star power this young man had and his hits still 💪🏽 so his legacy will not be tainted because of this project, I feel this quick release is everyone involved just trying to get a quick bag...that's unfortunate... Rest in Paradise PopSmoke🙏🏾
It's 100% understandable that the family stands behind it, cause of money and cause the family is most likely not involved in the hip hop culture, not understanding whats wrong with that album at all.
The last album showed how good it could be if you got the right people involved, only the label is to blame now.
The right people meaning Bashar was still alive and did 85% of Album..50 used his celebrity to draw attention to the project this time PopSmoke had no one to speak for him.Mike Dee and his friends stated a music Label then people started copying him and treated the family in a very respectful way. When his brother Obasi was speaking out before this happened people clowned him now everyone wanna complain..SMH. RIP POPSMOKE. Respectfully.

They should honestly give 808Melo most of the control. He’s the actual producer and I’m sure he can put together a sound and vision that would actually sound like a Pop Smoke tape.
This album was just a money grab, that’s why Obasi has more control on it. By tryna protect his brother’s legacy, he’s actually messing it up.

Damn I mean I didn’t think it was as good as the last one but I def wasn’t mad at it
Wait. Once Olivia Rodrigo stay at #1 next week, he gon be at the bottom of the chart.
Definitely too soon for a new album. I guess they assume his brand isn't as big as Pac and Biggie where they can take years off between releases. With all the guest appearances and these two albums and songs used up on the deluxe, it seems they were trying to push out as much as possible as fast as they could. Where as I think, steadily putting it out over a 5 year period will generate more fans in the long term that will go back over the original work and previous albums then.
I understand the gripes people have, I am the biggest 2Pac fan out there. And his music got butchered 90 percent of the time with new beats and new features. And his original work was classic material that was good enough to be released on any of his albums. Different is, most of 2Pacs tracks were completed vocally. Where as Pop's you have many one verse or hook only tracks. And you also have many tracks under the normal 3 minute run time that's usually associated with Hip-Hop. So it's understandable they needed to fill out tracks with other artist.
If they wanted new artist they should have explained it. And then made the updated version with the OG artist for the deluxe. Everyone wins. If sample clearance issues were a problem then explain that. The problem is they didn't explain a single thing before launch.
Also another issue I see is, why make these albums so long and use up unreleased on the deluxe? They could have literally split the last 2 albums and the deluxe into five 10-12 track albums. This allows you to spread out solo tracks more, keeps the albums short and sweet and allows you to prolong his brand with new content years down the line.
Good breakdown except why are we even using Pac as an example. I get the point you were making but Pop wasn’t even close to the same level artist to even mention Pac for a comparison. Pop Smoke was talented and unique but he had a long way to go before he can be mentioned with the greats . Its very unfortunate that he didn’t get that opportunity to reach his potential.
@@blessed1ne HES not using Tupac as a comparison he’s Sayin they did the same thing to Tupac when he died he’s not in no way comparing them as artists
@@blessed1ne yeah I'm not comparing legacies or style. I am talking about the approach to posthumous albums. They did the same with Biggie and Michael Jackson too. Not sure about Juice Wrld. The difference is what I stated above. Most of those tracks for those artist were complete. Either single verse tracks with features already or 2-3 verses. Where as with Pop they had many tracks that were single verse and the beat play out, or they only had a Hook such as in the case for Demeanor. Point is, they would have had to add some features regardless so songs could be finished since there are some short ones under 2 minutes long. There were times they made Interludes out of the really short tracks. But you don't want the whole album having the majority be 45 seconds to 2 minute long tracks.
Where they messed up was removing the original artist and not getting those same artist to finish other tracks. I'm sure they could have done a whole Pop Smoke and Lil Tjay album or Pop Smoke/Dread Woo/Dafi Woo albums. Fans wouldn't have complained. But you know they are trying to get the most songs on the charts and think other artist like Future, Dream, Rick Ross will do that
@@DJSkandalous Yes you make a clear and logical point, I understand. I know its not a direct comparison to 2Pac but I would argue it is relevant who you choose to use to make that point with because what can be done with an album of a deceased artist depends on the skill/talent level, creativity and amount of music recorded prior to passing. This album shows they didn’t have much to work with so its a lot of features and fill-ins. No disrespect to Pop. He was a good artist. But Pac was different. Iconic. He had so much great material its was almost offensive what they chose to do with it when he passed. Pop didn’t really do enough for people to expect more…so Im confused at the album critiques. Thats all I’m saying.
@@blessed1ne they just dropped 4 more tracks. So idk, they probably have alot left. I don't understand dropping all these in one swoop like this if there isn't much left. Lol. They could have easily used up these deluxe songs for a new album. So idk maybe they have alot left and was just using everything and anything now.
As a hip-hop head I love the fact that they try to do a little main stream thing with his music not saying that it probably did not diminish some of the quality that the streets would’ve wanted but I appreciate the fact that with as young as pop smoke was and how small of a catalog he has he is actually going to be remembered by the main stream as well as the underground it happens they will do the remix is over they will get released the streets will get what they want but the world needs to know about Pop smoke
You're onto something.
Di could have waited with this.
But when the record company sees $$$$ they doesn't care.
I had a listening party for my clients at a rehab. A lot of them heard me play Pops old music and weren’t happy with this new album.
Damn, the Manslaughter & Beat The Speaker were bangers
I never understood how artist always seem to have entire tracks lined up to go out right after they die. Like a last will and testament type of thing.
Almost every artist have unreleased tracks.
That's because you're remedial.
Nipsey didn't, but alot of artists record music at a fast rate.
They don't its just unreleased verses they put in the garbage if they didn't like it. The ppl on this album mixed pops verses with features so it would sound more finished
@@realhamonwry8620 lol
50 cent and 808 Melo should have been in charge of this project

Yoo this album is crazy
I support that you post this to let it be known. All love.
To Steven Victor, Cap!
If you can't get shit clear, suggest two things:
1) Get AXL, TrapHouse Mob or 808 Melo to make the beats. These other artists just wants a check so exclude the new artists and add the artists Pop actually worked with.
2) DON'T RELEASE NOTHING until it's Pop Smoke style.
Seems to me you were all for the money and not for Pop Smoke's real style and study what he would want.
This is the industry getting more of theirs, even though they already ate off him heavily . And to pop smoke's manager. If you couldn't do it they way pop wanted then don't put the shit out

Pop Smoke loved the UK because at times they showed him more love than the US and rated some of the artists there. They could have included one or two UK artists as features.
They should’ve kept this one in the vault. It doesn’t feel like a Pop Smoke album; just a compilation of rappers that occasionally shout his name out. It sounds rushed and poorly thought out. To me there are no stand out tracks from it. A sad addition to his legacy.
They were like before our dead son is going to be forgotten lets release the album asap and milk the fucking shit out of it.

Personally I am a really hard core pop smoke fan and I personally liked manslaughter because he sounded like 50 I think overall this album was a mess but I hope that they could fix it in the deluxe edition is really nice that they finally dropped letter to chinx this was one of the most fan-favorite Snippets / leaks and I'm happy that they finnaly dropped it same as run down featuring G herbo
Why would they change un-clearable songs when they can remake the sample.
They wouldn’t have have to break bread with some random group that may want to own 100% of the song.
I feel like they should redo the album & re-release it when it’s completed properly. They’re fu**ing up his legacy and it’s pissing me off because he deserves better & I know if he was here he wouldn’t approve of this album🤦🏽♂️ For those who don’t understand just go listen to Meet the Woo 1 & 2 and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

The Louie Rankin Sample was from the Shottas movie executive produced by Ky Mani Marley... dude is lying.
They should of left more time for the album they should of kept the same beats for the leaked song
They had to change up beats because they couldn't get clearances . That pisses me off . When I start making beats , most of my beats will be original . I'm not gonna do a whole lot of sampling . the original beat for biggie's "story to tell" sounded way better than what's on the album , but they had to change it up because they couldn't get permission to use the samples .

50 cent know what is gonna happen I didn't know when the album is gonna be released the labels best time is when an artist pass away look at biggie and Tupac Shakur posthumous albums releases the labels never dealt with posthumous albums good so no surprise any way just like with MJ situation in 2010 ghost singers 😒
I was looking for the DMX n Pop Smoke Track I don’t understand why Pusha T on the album he goin Diss Drake Again
Pusha actually ate both his verses, its kinda fucked up cause on the second 1, shorts pusha outshined pop verse so bad just cause pops vocals wasn't meant to go with that beat and it shows, pops verse sounds like a Mashup instead of him rapping to that beat, smfh, shame on the dickheads behind that
Shit frustrating man. We never going to get real pop smoke again😔
I’m glad I’m not signed to no label, you will never be able to change me or my craft and that’s how I’ll always be idk bout y’all tho…
Honestly there’s only so much a dead artist has that is at his very best , most of these tracks were old / unfinished/ scrapped songs that even with the original features or better producers it wont be so great
