This is my first apple watch that I have bought. before I had my family members old series 2. This video was extremely useful and helpful. This is my first time discovering this channel and I have subscribed and liked. Keep up the great content!
This one is my first Apple Watch. I can't get out much at the moment but even still there are little things you don't think of that turn out to be MAJOR conveniences. Such as being able to just left my wrist to read messages, and then asking Siri to send a response. I can't remember whether the double tap was supposed to be available from next month, though I'm assuming so as I can't get it to trigger.
18 hour battery life is just ridiculously bad. It was borderline acceptable in the beginning, 1st or 2nd gen but since then everybody else improved massively. It should easily do 4-5 days on a single charge.
My Ultra 2 last 3-5 days but I'm sort of an expert in using watches. I've been told that I'm probably the top in the world at getting more then 18hrs out of the new apple watches.
IMHuO, 18 hours is just unacceptable. If I go camping over a weekend, I don't want to have to even *think* about needing to bring extra gear just to charge my watch 🥴🥴🥴🥴 Perhaps a 'workout' should be added: Sprint-duration and heart-rate while being chased by a bear/hiIIbiIIies 😁😁😁😁

In recent versions of WatchOS, when the sleep focus is enabled to track sleep..they have stopped taking RHR readings. Do you know if this logic has been changed in WatchOS 10 ?
I’m still on a Series 2 (yes I know that’s probably unbelievable to some) and think I might finally have to upgrade this year. The Digital Crown no longer presses in and it’s just slow as heck. For someone like me, this is a massive upgrade (though if I had a series 7 or 8, don’t think I’d bother upgrading).
Apple replaced my series 5 when battery was dying for $75 with no Apple Care. I’d go that route and wait for Watch X but Watch OS 10 was killing my replacement’s battery. I didn’t wait for an update to fix that but I bet the last one did. I got the series 9 last week. Love it.
I genuinly hope that the S9-SiP is gonna help keep the watch "healthy" long term, my Series 4 degraded horribly both in terms of battery and general UX performance
Your time in bed metric might be incorrect because Apple base it on your sleep schedule. If your sleep schedule is set to start at 8pm and you get into bed at 10pm I think it’ll include those two hours as time in bed regardless of what you were actually doing. If you turn off sleep schedule and manually turn on and off the sleep focus mode you’ll get something closer to the true time in bed
any chance we could a more in-depth video of you creating your workouts, thing I find the hardest with the standard apple workout app is its a all or nothing type thing for an exercise...
I’m moving from a Watch 3 to a 9, so I’m looking for how much of an upgrade this will be. I don’t think Apple expects you to upgrade every year, but maybe every 3-4 years. My 3 is still running great with good battery life. So this jump is pretty big for me.
they literaly expect ppl to upgrade every year, thats the reason they make so bad batteries to their watches and phones, this watch says it has "even 18h run time" garmin watches has 8 to 18 days :D
What I don’t understand about the Apple Watches. I’ve had a series 5 for a while. If I need to charge it once a day… usually when I go to sleep… how can I track my sleep? If I sleep with it on it’s going to be dead at some point in the day when I need it to be on!? Confusion.
Well charge it in the evening or whenever your at home and not going out. For me I work at night so I’ll charge in the evening while at home not needing it that way I have it over night and while I sleep in the day
Hi DC, thank you as always for a very well made informative video. I have been a long term garmin user and currently use the 965 for tracking all my activities such as - strength training, yoga, running, cycling. Along with my recovery metrics such as sleep, body battery, HRV, training readiness. These recovery metrics i beleive are very important. From my understanding the Apple watch doesnt have these metrics, even though its heart rate tracking is superior to that of Garmin. Would you say having the Garmin with slightly less accurate heart rate tracking but better metrics is a good trade off ? is it possible to get recovery metrics on the apple watches? thank you.
Thanks - I don't currently have an apple watch and I was wondering what to get. I'm looking at the 9 but would an 8 be just as good? What one or two features of the 9 make it worth getting? I enjoyed the video, especially the gps section
Quick Actions works well for me on the Apple Watch Ultra 1 and it is very similar to the Double Tap feature. Granted I'm sure that it's more reliable on the new watches so I understand why Apple hasn't pushed it to the older watches but I can dissmiss notifications, stop alarms etc by double tapping my fingers using Quick Actions and it works maybe 80-90% of the time. Good enough for me. I think maybe the Ultra 4 will be when I upgrade.
I am using the series 5, but honestly even the series 9 is not a big upgrade for me. OFC the tech improved inside, but overall the usage, the feel, the whole experience barely improved. They should have improved its battery time, which one the key feature, but Apple does not want to improve the battery time of its phone and watches. It is like the iPhone. Stucked and does not move forward, or when its move, it is moving the wrong direction.

While I haven't specifically tried a Nike band, years ago I did have a Tropical silicone strap for my watch, which also 'has holes' through it; it *definitely* makes a difference in how comfortable the strap is in hot weather or if the strap gets wet, compared to a 'solid' silicone strap... During fall and winter, not really anything to notice, but during the height of summer, yes, it makes a *huge* difference in comfort. I'd expect a similar (or better) effect with a Nike strap, given its larger holes, and I'm going to get one in readiness for summer next year 👍👍👍👍
Great video! I'm jumping ships from Android to Apple tomorrow and this made me excited about getting the series 9 to replace my Galaxy Watch Active 2. It has way more features and plenty I'll never even need, but it's nice to know they are there.
