@@TraumaER and prime wasnt him either. No one was as fast as prime. But EA had technique as shown in this video. He was just as shut down as Prime. He just went about it differnt. Hence the numbers.
I remember watching this with my jaw dropped. Between this and all the great Cunningham scrambles. This was back when they used to practice in my town. West Chester, before moving to Lehigh. I was so upset when they moved their practice spot.
I'll never forget as a kid my great-gradmom was in her hospital bed. It was close to her time and the eagles game was on. I'll never forget this play clear as day. Last memory with her and this play with Eric Allen. Miss you Great-Great [R.I.P.] #PHILADELPHIAEAGLES#PHILLY#610DELCO 👍
look at that man's humility at the end of that play giving the ball to his hobbled teammate.they just dont make players with the talent, loyalty to his team, passion and modesty like this legend here who should be in the hall of fame.
I love seeing that camaraderie between Allen and Cunningham. And the Eagles sideline and their reaction to this great moment is priceless. If I was an Eagles fan and grew up in Pennsylvania instead of Nor. Cali, I might get even more emotional than I already am seeing the greatness of football that has been washed away in recent times because of the business of it. But you can't erase these memories we all had.
An awesome pick-6 by a terrific cornerback who probably should be in the Hall of Fame. To whoever complained about the announcers, that's the great team of Summerall and Madden. Have a clue and a little respect, please.
Jets absolutely dominated the first half of this game, I remember it was 21-0 early in the 2nd Quarter & typical Jets just folded in the 2nd half. This play typified the day.
Ben Smith's (#26) hustle helped finish this play. His late block enables this play to be a touchdown remembered for decades. Allen may not score without it. Eric Allen was a better corner than Aeneas Williams. 21 should be a HOFer.
Allen said he was motivated on the return because he saw Esiason walking off the field. But Esiason clearly tried to tackle him. I guess it makes for a better quote that way.
I remember watching this game when I was like 8 years old Siri I was so mad because Randall Cunningham got injured in that game but it's still gets me misty-eyed when I see Eric Allen give him that interception ball
Ill never forget that return. And then giving it to Cunningham on crutches, knowing he blew his knee out. And Madden and Pat calling it? That has to be up there as an all time great play!
Later in the game, Madden said this was one of the greatest plays he ever saw in the history of the NFL. When this happened, I was partying with a couple friends. We had just finished smoking some green. The eagles were down 21-0 in this game and came back to win
Snowboy 2015 ....exactly right...if a player makes a play like THAT in today's nfl he's lookin for the nearest camera so that he can pound his chest a hundred times and point to the sky (dont even want to get into that "fad")...football is a TEAM game...go celebrate with your team ....this personal "look at me " bullshit is just that...BULLSHIT!!!!!!
That is correct.. along with last years miracle at the meadowlands II, and 04 championship game, this was one of the greatest eagles games ive ever watched
Was that Mark McMillan racing downfield for that crucial block? Great effort by EA and MM! Great to hear the voices of JM and PS on the call. Have to find it with Merrill making the call.
+Phillysports_2000 tough to keep your job when you have a super bowl caliber team and go one and done in the playoffs three straight years, including twice at home.
Cause he never won a playoff game in 3 straight games in the playoffs & 5 years over all Coaching Philly. This was Rich (gulp) Kotite's team. He went on to be maybe the worst Coach in Jets history a few years later going 3-13 & 1-16 in 2 pathetic seasons
Eric Allen should be in the Hall of Fame
Right
Exactly
His stats are near identical to Deon's. 1 more int. 1 less td. Smh
@@TheNumbasign2 he wasn't prime time though.
@@TraumaER and prime wasnt him either. No one was as fast as prime. But EA had technique as shown in this video. He was just as shut down as Prime. He just went about it differnt. Hence the numbers.
Maybe the greatest interception return for a touchdown in NFL History....Eric Allen was the man!
I remember watching this with my jaw dropped. Between this and all the great Cunningham scrambles. This was back when they used to practice in my town. West Chester, before moving to Lehigh. I was so upset when they moved their practice spot.
Merrill Reese call on the radio is epic
I love Summerall's call of the play!"Esiason's fake is a good one.His pass is not."
If you listen carefully I think you can hear Madden laughing at that line
This is awesome on so many layers. The sick moves, 90+ yds, recently injured Randall in the tunnel, classic Madden commentary... love it!
And a Bubby Brister sighting!

Capone 610 that’s a solid story.
Ben Tipton Thanks Man I appreciate that... Have a good day bro.....#PHILLYLOVE
Capone 610 I’m a Colts fan but congrats on your team beating the Pats man. I’m sure your great grandma is smiling somewhere
Eric Allen was a phenomenal DB. How about the effort block preserving the touchdown by Ben Smith #26 @.22!!!!!
It's ashamed injuries kept Ben Smith from having a career. If he had a career, he would've been great.

For a long time I always thought this was the best defensive play I've ever seen, and that's coming from a Jet's fan.
2 syllables: Deion Sanders!
Agreed 👍
@@TraumaER Do you know what a syllable is?
One of the best plays on Eagles history. Sucks Randall was injured that year. Awesome he brought him the ball in the tunnel.
I will never forget this play! One of the best ever!
Hall of Fame Eric Allen.

Probably the best return I’ve ever seen
Summerall called this perfectly. "His pass is not." Amazing!
Madden and Summerall.....GOAT

I think it was a few of the lineman that walked off the field. You can see one jogging toward the sidelines in the video.
I remember watching this game when I was like 8 years old Siri I was so mad because Randall Cunningham got injured in that game but it's still gets me misty-eyed when I see Eric Allen give him that interception ball
i remember this game. Eric Allen with the game winning pick 6
Ill never forget that return.
And then giving it to Cunningham on crutches, knowing he blew his knee out. And Madden and Pat calling it? That has to be up there as an all time great play!
The Ben Smith cut block is so bad ass.
Eric allen: 4 interception return tds, on 6 interceptions in 1993. That's hall of fame worthy
Remember that play well. We were shouting goooo go go gooo🎉🎉🎉 fly eagles fly 🦅🦅🦅
It was a bittersweet win, because we lost Cunningham and Barnett and our special teams ace for the year that day. But that was a great moment.
@DolFan316 I think that was #26, Ben Smith, post knee surgery if I recall...
I was at this game... One of the best plays in NFL History
I remember this one play when I was a young kid above any other.
Later in the game, Madden said this was one of the greatest plays he ever saw in the history of the NFL. When this happened, I was partying with a couple friends. We had just finished smoking some green. The eagles were down 21-0 in this game and came back to win
one of the best DB's of the 90's #21 eric allen!!!
I was at this game....I think the eagles were down by 21 and won that game...Amazing play by Eric Allen and that play I will always remember
Love those uniforms with the silver pants. Bring them back the fans love ❤️ them

Great Post...I needed to see this today to remember the glory days cuz it's gonna be a long season this year.
justin carbone its not this year...neither was 2011
I remember this amazing play like it was yesterday!! Thanks!! Instant favorite for me!
He a hall of famer Eric Allen crazy he not in their yet
Ben Smith with the block. 🔥
That is correct.. along with last years miracle at the meadowlands II, and 04 championship game, this was one of the greatest eagles games ive ever watched
Jets have NEVER beaten the Eagles - EVER!
They'll get another crack at it tomorrow.
Green on Green crime. LOL. But serious, as a Jet fan i remember watching this live and saying, "wow, that was one hell of a pick 6"
Greatest interception return ever.
I was there too, in the stands behind that end zone, "waving him in".
0:51 John Madden doing his Frank Caliendo impression.
I remember watching this game on tv I was 10 or 11 at the time
Eric Allen RESPECT
this brings back memories we Bubby Brister.
The play that made me an Eagle fan
Same. My first Eagle memory...
Always on Monday Nights!!! (*back in the day)
Keith Millard with the pressure that forced the bad pass.
Howard Eskin 👑 bought me here
Ball got tipped by a linebacker which changed the flight of the ball....
I was there…
Boomer and gio this morning brought me here
Best Pick 6 of all time!
boomer and carton this morning brought me here..
what a great block at the end, thats how you chop block
KaypainBeats a chop block has to involve another person...maybe your mother
#26 such a bro
I saw this game live the Jets were beating the Eagles all game especially when they knocked out Randall Cunningham
Holy shit! Is that Bubby Brister at 0:38? Cunningham, Esiason...I'm having flashbacks!
I was working that day and a Cowbly fand was talking crap how Irate teh Eagles Fans were then this play shut them up!
I only came here cause the NFL on CBS guys were making fun of Boomer's terrible tackle attempt.
That’s my uncle I’m not lying
your uncle was a baller
Yesterday Boomer trash talked a QB for throwing a "STUPID PASS".....which ended in a PickVI
that is correct!
99 yards the other way and he hands the ball to Cunningham injured
Was that Mark McMillan racing downfield for that crucial block? Great effort by EA and MM! Great to hear the voices of JM and PS on the call. Have to find it with Merrill making the call.
jukes
Madden and Summerall calling the Jets. How often did this happen?
chris p Not many times. Eagles/Jets '87 and '93. Rams/Jets '83. Giants/Jets '84. Bears/Jets '85.
It was a CBS game at the time and both teams was unbeaten. So Pat and John got that call.
Most incredible touchdown pass of Boomer's career
Wow
ahhh when football was FOOTBALL not this bullshit we have today
Go birds!
#25 makes this play by SPRINTING down the field and making the one block Allen needed to score. He does a better job on the play than Allen actually.
DolFan316 #26
I was going crazy when this happened. EAGLES!!!When will we ever win a SB????????
DNIYM this year
Whelp... WE WON!
Jets had 6 guys with a chance to bring him down, none of them succeed.
Great pass boomer lol
The Jets have never beaten The Eagles in history.
The Eagles are 11-0 all time against the Jets.
WOW...!!!!!
H~
Eric Allen? More like Marcus Allen.
Boomer throws a pick six... it happens. But what was that lame-ass arm tackle he tried at 1:05 ?
Buddy Ryan Football baby
This was actually three years after he was fired
Why was he fired?!
+Phillysports_2000 tough to keep your job when you have a super bowl caliber team and go one and done in the playoffs three straight years, including twice at home.

Rusty Kuntz he didn't go 1-16 in a season...cmon man give him a little credit it was 1-15...
Homie was trolling em the 1st 10 yards. I wonder where that ball is now.
that is correct!
