  • Edward Snowden has spent the last six years living in exile in Russia and has now decided to publish his memoirs, Permanent Record. In the book he reflects on his life leading up to the biggest leak of top secret documents in history, and the impact this had on his relationship with his partner, Lindsay Mills. Snowden is right. It’s the relationship between consumer and technological capitalism that will ensure our civil liberties like privacy and not the government. Thank you for the book.

Americans be like “Social justice, political correctness, anti racism bla bla bla” but when someone reveals criminal activities of their government they are silent.
America needs more people like Snowden.

I'm impressed. He's not just a guy the world heard about but a guy who still has a lot to say. And I think exile while maybe the right word now won't be forever, I'm sure he'll get amnesty eventually.

The greatest admiration for this ultimate hero, Snowden who stands for truth, facts and democracy. A pioneer who should be knighted for his disclosures that shed light on the erosion of human privacy rights, stimulating a global debate on digital surveillance and privacy, and prompted reforms aimed at safeguarding civil liberties.

Regardless if anything is politically and/or legally right or wrong has taken place during any presidency it's all to be nested below our nations unified morals. A unity above all else. A unity wherein the most important thing is recognizing that our political system produced such a leader. Moving forward it's imperative that we are knowledge full of this and we all accept fault or nothin can change but rather only get worse. Unfortunately, without this top level unity of morals our freedoms and cherished democratic system our nation was built on are at great threat of being completely eroded and will ultimately cease to exist. Becoming a long forgotten voiceless victim of an unimaginable crime, a cold case without justice and a tragedy without hope all at the hands of a divided nation without morals. It was not so very long ago such a tragic scenario reached it's typing point wherein our nations division resulted in bloodshed upon ourselves, citizens fighting citizens, a terrestrial war, the Civil War. Luckily, for us what was moral prevailed wherein today what remains with significant relevance is one very terrifying question. What if it hadnt?..

What Ed did for us is much more than our own government has ever done. He told us the truth and defended our rights. Now he is paying for it with permanent exile. A sad true story of an American Hero. If we ever go to Russia, my wife and I will definitely try to contact this amazing couple and have long conversations about art, politics, philosophy, etc. Amazing people. No doubt another movie should be in the making, and her wife should have a central role too. Their story is epic.
