Park Rangers Kick Off, Jan. 18, 2023

The City of Bakersfield and the Recreation & Parks Department are excited to see the culmination of months of work pay off with the official launch of the City’s new Park Ranger Program!
Funded by the Public Safety & Vital Services (PSVS) Measure, Park Rangers provide additional presence, support and surveillance in all parks the City maintains. Their job is to protect the public’s investment in amenities that all residents and visitors enjoy and ensure a safe environment when someone comes to a City park. They work in conjunction with the Bakersfield Police Department and the City’s Code Enforcement officers.
The program was unanimously approved by the City Council in March 2022 and fully-staffed by December of the same year.
