Still think PvP bounty hunting/ganking needs a rework. If a player has racked up a giant bounty then a hunter should get that entire profit. If the bounty is from multiple jurisdictions then make them redeem it from an interstellar contact like every other bounty. And of course if someone wants to be a ganker, make them pay insurance costs and galactic average cargo costs of the player they kill. And crank up the fines on gankers that kill another player so that it actually means something
Why would you make gankers pay a fine in game? You trying to deinsentivize pvp? Cause that's one step above just toggling pvp on/off in a game. If you put pvp in a game and you punish people for pvping then people will eventually stop pvping and the ones that continue will just be ganged up on. I agree, the hunter should get the full bounty though.

If new players careful follow the tutorials on RUclips, they can already make 283 mil relatively easily. Putting artificial constraints in the game is a great way to diminish the sense of immersion and frankly piss people off. I’m assuming once the player is killed, the bounty resets to zero, so who cares who gets it? It’s not like that is enough money to unbalance the game. Why allow the bounty to grow that high if it can never be claimed?

FDev didn't want two people to team up and transfer huge bounties/credits from 1 to the other. You can do that easily these days with a fleet carrier, but the basic bounty mechanic has never been updated. o7!

Yes, but then I'd be down to 1 Shield Booster, so I accept the heat for stronger shields. FYI, you can buy a pre-engineered heat sink at Spirit of Laelaps - Luyten's Star. It's the best in the game.

It's FDev's way of making sure your friend who just bought the game doesn't claim your huge bounty and become instantly rich. 2 Million credits per system is the maximum a bounty hunter can claim from a player. So if a player has racked up 20 Million, but evenly it's split between Sol and Shinrarta for example, the BH get 4 Million total. Then Interstellar factors takes a 25% cut.
For the most part I just go to places that attract other players like Deciat or the other engineer systems or the CGs and scan everyone. It's hit and miss.

The fact that you have to literally spin around and look directly at enemy ships just to shoot at them is why I can't take games like this seriously. Very cartoonish. All that technology and your weapons can't automatically target and track enemies? Makes absolutely zero sense. These games don't need to be insanely realistic but a little bit of common sense wouldn't hurt. This is why Eve online has always been, and will remain the best space simulation game of all time, even though games like Elite pretend to be super deep and realistic space simulations. Not even to mention the fact that the Solo Play option completely obsoletes the Open Play option. Eve actually has players in it that you can see and interact with as soon as you login. Elite dangerous is completely empty. Not a good look for a game that's been struggling to keep players interested.
For your first part, use gimbled weapons, turrets and point defense. as far your Solo play comment goes. I have no idea what your trying to say. Solo option is just that, SOLO!! No other players. So you have a choice. Open play, you will get to meat all the people you need. Eve online is just a bunch of griefers hanging around until a new player comes along and kills him over and over again.

At looking to this i think the first major update to do with Elite fighting is to stop this bump fight because it's just pretty ridiculous, i don't even know why players continues to buy weapons? Just fit with a lot of shield and ram it like a dumb bull (immersion)! I like this game but this type of dogfighting is just shameless and boring, and not highlight any piloting skills, 99% of pvp doghfights end like this.

And this guy's ship was no slouch either; he had actual hull engineering and module protection. The torps just made it an even fight.
Even some of the most shit-tier gankers know how to evade torpedoes. Any ship can outrun them, and most ships can shoot them down without any special equipment. If you don't want to risk it, just low-wake out after you see them launched. Even if you get interdicted again, the torpedoes are already gone.

There's a discord where you can put your own personal bounty on a player. Seen them go as high as 10bil for a pvp kill.
