Also, as a bilingual speaker. When you translate songs (and like most translations) you are not translating word by word but almost rewriting with interpretation of the person translating. Sometime entire phrases get changed with one that means the same things but its worded entirely different. So yeah, you don’t direct translate songs but you remake it and find ways to make it rhyme with a similar meaning adapted not only for the language but the target culture as well.
@@katharinavargas7306 One thing is to write translated subtitles, another one is taking the song from one language, and then having it rewritten in another language for it to keep the same meaning and feeling while opening it to a new audience.
In Mexico back in the day Italian artist (Gianluca Grignani, Eros Ramazzoti, Laura Pausini, Nek, and others) had their songs translated into spanish for it to make it big in Latinamerica.
And nowadays the act of translating Anime songs into other languages is quite popular in youtube.
This type of translation is called transcreation, and you're very correct in your definition of it! You need specific certification to translate marketing/linguistic arts, on top of the subject matter.

@@ryder2156 actuall it is cuz blackpink are known to have very less songs and it was thier very first full album(even though it only has 8 songs lol) after 4+ years of being active, in that timing normal kpop group will have min 10-15 albums
The grammar and sentence structure in Korean is often very different than in English, so the ‘matching’ words don’t often match up. It’s another reason why kpop lyrics can be very impressive. The writers (who are often the artists themselves) put a lot of effort into the bilingual lyrics, so they not only make sense, but also rhyme and flow with the rest of the song.
I've also heard that they originally wrote the song in english and then they adapt the lyric to match the rhytm in korean later(like they kept the overall meaning of the sentence but using different word play, have to give a lot of credit to productiin team though).

What blew my mind most when I dove into kpop is the insane production quality. From the videos to the vocals, the dancing, the music... there is an incredible amount of talent involved in all of these.

I think K-POP in general is known for having so many different genres. Other groups beside blackpink like BTS, Stray Kids, Ateez, the Boyz, KARD, Itzy, TXT are just some of the other groups that go from genre to genre. Kpop is such an umbrella term when it comes to type of music bc kpop consists of so many sub genres in itself. This is just my take on kpop but that’s how i feel when I listen to kpop

BP brought smth new at that time and I m think seeing thier massive success kinda influenced the other companies to follow their footsteps

True, though, I know ROSÉ writes her own songs, it's up to their label what they do and take though and honestly, I'd love to hear her original music, maybe one day it'll happen. All girls are talented af though, K-POP artists have to go through a gruelling process to get to the top and only very few make it.

The winged statue in the temple represents Nike, Goddess of Victory.
Rosé (silver hair), in the beginning, is portraying Persephone, Goddess of Vegetation (plants, flowers) and the daughter of Zeus. One day while she was out gathering flowers, Hades, God of the Underworld, abducted her and dragged her down to the Underworld where she was forced to become his wife. The video shows her in her beautiful image, surrounded by flowers, as well as how she became, dirty and grey, staring up at the world through a hole in the Underworld.
