The song is actually about the antis/haters, at the first parts, the scenes are very slow, and weak, but as the song goes on, the beat of the song is going faster and stronger, it means that in the past their haters are taking advantage of them, but in this era, they are rising, the first solo scene of jisoo have pink walls that represents them, and the walls are destroyed but behind that destroyed walls, there is a light, and the last scene, if you see there is the map of the world and behind them was the trojan horses that representing on dominating the world.

They also have some Greek representation in this MV. Like how Jisoo was blinded by a mask full of flowers, symbolic for a goddess that had a POV of the world being so great and happy but once she took it off, the world was very different of what she thought of and now she's woke. Rosé who is played as persephone, being trapped in the underworld by hades looking up above wanting to return to her own world, she hated hades and wanted revenge. Blackpink MV's are full of representation and symbolism, as well as hidden meaning behind the aesthetics which is why I love their MV's than the whole kpop Industry
@@milkyuuu6170 actually in the real greek story it's Persephone. It's Persephone that Hades took to the Underworld, in this case Rosé is Persephone. 🙂 I just want to add, in the beginning of the MV you can see the statue of the goddess of victory. Meaning these girls triumphed and they are victorious in their plan to dominate the world (as seen in the end of the MV). The Trojan horse is also a greek reference of domination. You can also see Jisoo's body marked with types of sins from Dante's Inferno (another greek reference). In her scene you see her hammering her way out the wall, destroying sins as she go and being free from them.

This genre is called “Teddy” (teddy park: Blackpink main producer) lol … Love to hate me … Lisa flows will give you Em nostalgic flows between Mockingbird and Cleanin out my closet
@@KnoxHill Something you'll learn about in K-Pop is that their videos tend to be full of symbols and meanings. Blackpink's "How You Like That" is a retelling of the classic Greek story of Persephone. Long story short, Hades, Lord of tbe Underworld, kidnapped Persephone, Goddess of Springtime, Flowers, and Vegetation. He lured her into a colorful bed of flowers and then erupted out of the ground with his chariot, dragging her down with him. Her mother Demeter, Goddess of Agriculture, found out what happened and went to Zeus, King of the Gods and also Lord of the Sky. Meanwhile, Persephone hated her new existence. She was growing angry and hated being kept down. A deal was struck that allowed Persephone to return to the world for about half of the year but she had to remain in the underground for the other half. So when Persephone returned to the world, she brought Spring and Summer. As she left, the world turned cold and decayed. This is the story all of them share, but silver-haired Rosé represents Persephone the most. In her scene at the beginning, she alternates between two locations. You see her happy with flowers and blooming with life juxtaposed with a dark, dirty cave. When she pulls on the mask, the first chorus comes through as the beat drops and they exclaim "How You Like That!?" The set is very green and full of plants. This is Spring. Summer is shown in the market with the lead rapper, Lisa. Fall with the purple background and umbrellas. And the Winter scene is obvious. Jisoo in the fire scene is the Goddess of Revenge, Nemesis, sitting on a spider-like throne. She's going through her list and throws the book when she's ready to deal punishment. At the end, the girls dance through a large hall and end up in a dome with 2 large Trojan horses. In the story where the Greeks hid in the horses, they erupted out of the horse secretly in the City of Troy and took over. These women use that to show that they have emerged and are here to takeover once again. And on the walls of the dome are an organic map. On the left is Asia and surrounding continents and on the right are the Americas, representing their global success. This can be interpretated as a message meant between 2 lovers or between them and haters. They are here and will not stop doing what they do. They can't be kept down! Thank you for reading! 🖤💖
i love how you pay attention to the scenes of the mv, the lyrics, the vocals of the girls and the production. you also share your perspective on your understanding of the whole thing. was such a good reaction. looking forward to more content on the girls! subscribed. ✌🏼
The songs isn’t a love ballad but more so about overcoming haters. This song was released after a 14 month hiatus with is a long time in k-pop “you should’ve ended me when you had the chance” Fun fact: Nothing shown in this music video used green screen and they had every set built, even the fire umbrellas were real. You can watch the making of the music video to confirm. There is a lot of Greek symbolism in the music video which would be to much to explain but there are detailed explanations on RUclips. The ending with the Trojan horses, world map, and hanbok traditional korean clothing symbolize BP world domination.
Bro the korean said that his reaction is like a professor level 😂 and i can see why. Love that genuine reaction and his excitement to see what next, it makes me appreciate the song even more after listening to it almost everyday andddd I always learn something new. Keep going knox.
Blackpinks M/Vs has always have a deeper meaning in this its a lot of Greek Mythologie! The Statue with the Wings is Nike the Goddess of Victory, Than their is the Story of Persephone and the 4 Seasons! Arachnia and the Trojan horses😅And you see the World Map turn from Black in to Pink when they leave the Horses😁Great Reaction Knox you should check out the Live Performence of them they are even better and add new Vibes like Rock,Reggae etc. 👍👍👍
@@s-adi-sticaditya7810 actually generally speaking most people love Blackpink, that's why they've broken Guinness World records for MV's and broken records globally and in each country! So you're statement is pretty ignorant. If u don't like BP gtfo and don't listen or comment!
simplest way to know each Jennie-If u see the same face singing in one song and then rapping in a different song, it's her (kinda does everything, just gotta get to know her face) Lisa- if she has bangs and rapping, it's her (only song where she ain't rapping is forever young and hope not) Jisoo-If u hear the slightly deeper singing voice, it's her (often does bridges and pre-hooks) Rose-If u hear the higher pitch voice it's her (often does bridges and pre-hooks)
ROSE VOICE IS AMAZING . no one have that kind of voice and she just amazing . The Queen Of Vocal Rose . Also my bias Jisoo have unique voice i wish to get her solo as soon as possible because i never get enough listen to Jisoo vocal
If you are an auditory learner then: Jisoo - Lead Vocalist with deep and slightly husky voice. Also a visual Jennie - Main Rapper, 2nd Lead Vocalist. Has strong and clear vocals and is versatile, versatile rapper with most skills. Rosé - Main Vocalist, lead dancer. Has the bright tone, one with the highest range. Lisa- Main dancer, lead rapper, sub vocalist. She has the western swag and her singing voice is cute.
What I read from their official page and debut showcase video is Jisoo (vocal), Rosé (vocal), Jennie (rap/vocal), Lisa (rap/dance). There's no main or lead. Just check their official page on yg website or watch their debut showcase.
there all visuals lets be honest here, yeah Jisoo is the most fitting to Korean standards but visual all just personal taste anyways. Like the "visual" role would be given to probs a different member in America if we gave out roles like that

The scene that you liked, the "fire" scene with Jisoo and her red dress, the backdrop was literally set on fire. I saw the behind the scenes in an episode of 24/365 with Blackpink.
I love your reactions, because you don't only focus on the mv and the music but also on the meanings of the song and there aren't a lot of people that do it. When women sings, some people would instantly conclude that they're singing about love😑 This song is about people or let's just call haters, who did their best in the past years to bring down or more on like drag down their company YG ENT. and these girls at the bottom. 2019 is the dark era of YG Entertainment. Now, they're raising to claim back the throne and slap those people who tried to bring them down with left and right achievements that they're going to make.
That's true. But for the people (like me) who just love their songs and don't know all these details, it's okay to think so, I guess. And that's not only about girls' songs but boys' too... It's just stereotype that we have

Jisoo has a great and unique voice but she's always been overlooked because for the longest time she was given the leftover lyrics while the others had parts written specifically for them they just used her to fill the voids. The issue with this was she always got terrible line distribution, couldn't show off her vocals, and never really got a bridge. With the new album though she's finally getting some better parts (except Ice Cream). She really shines throughout the album, they all do.

Rosie's voice reminds me of Avril.. I was a massive fan of Avril back in the day and she has the same tone at times.
i love how you pay attention to the scenes of the mv, the lyrics, the vocals of the girls and the production. you also share your perspective on your understanding of the whole thing. was such a good reaction. looking forward to more content on the girls! subscribed. ✌🏼
omg he really like Rosé what more if she releases her solo that we've been waiting for 😏
Fun Fact: For Jisoo's second part they actually lit the set on fire
Fun fact. They never use green screens when filming.
My heart melted when he appreciated Jisoo's vocals 🥺 4:26
Bro the korean said that his reaction is like a professor level 😂 and i can see why. Love that genuine reaction and his excitement to see what next, it makes me appreciate the song even more after listening to it almost everyday andddd I always learn something new. Keep going knox.
Lisa and her rap
Jisoo and her visual
Rose and her vocal
Jennie and her swags
He know blackpinkkk^_^
Blackpinks M/Vs has always have a deeper meaning in this its a lot of Greek Mythologie! The Statue with the Wings is Nike the Goddess of Victory, Than their is the Story of Persephone and the 4 Seasons! Arachnia and the Trojan horses😅And you see the World Map turn from Black in to Pink when they leave the Horses😁Great Reaction Knox you should check out the Live Performence of them they are even better and add new Vibes like Rock,Reggae etc. 👍👍👍

Rosie my forever bias...PERIOD
3:19 Lisa, 3:24 Jennie, 3:59 Jisoo, 4:36 Rosé. Please watch Unhelpful guide to blackpink so you get to know them well🖤💗
funny how you mentioned halsey while talking about rosé's voice because the two of them are friends.
I am Indian and glad to hear that you know about Indian music too.
simplest way to know each
Jennie-If u see the same face singing in one song and then rapping in a different song, it's her (kinda does everything, just gotta get to know her face)
Lisa- if she has bangs and rapping, it's her (only song where she ain't rapping is forever young and hope not)
Jisoo-If u hear the slightly deeper singing voice, it's her (often does bridges and pre-hooks)
Rose-If u hear the higher pitch voice it's her (often does bridges and pre-hooks)
Thats actually kinda a good way to do it, simple.. but effective
@@onion9486 he already seems to have learned Jennies face, so as long as it her face at her moments, he'll know

Lisa didn't rapped in forever Young. No hate just correcting ☺️

The Indian instrument is called a "Sitar"
It's a classical instrument.
You're right 😊
That middle east arabian beats
Arabic sure there is Donkey aladin lamp all decoration look like in Morroco market.
Nope..... Its not sitar
It is "The Oud", arabic adaptation of guitar... Wil 10-15 strings...
ROSE VOICE IS AMAZING . no one have that kind of voice and she just amazing . The Queen Of Vocal Rose . Also my bias Jisoo have unique voice i wish to get her solo as soon as possible because i never get enough listen to Jisoo vocal
If you are an auditory learner then:
Jisoo - Lead Vocalist with deep and slightly husky voice. Also a visual
Jennie - Main Rapper, 2nd Lead Vocalist.
Main vs Lead lol?
What I read from their official page and debut showcase video is Jisoo (vocal), Rosé (vocal), Jennie (rap/vocal), Lisa (rap/dance). There's no main or lead. Just check their official page on yg website or watch their debut showcase.
What's the difference between main and lead? Me is confused....
there all visuals lets be honest here, yeah Jisoo is the most fitting to Korean standards but visual all just personal taste anyways. Like the "visual" role would be given to probs a different member in America if we gave out roles like that
Multiple reliable articles have mentioned the main and lead roles so please respect it
your expression whenever rosé's part is so funny
relateeee
That part where he instantly noticed Jennie's eyes changed color in DDU-DU-DDU-DU. I became a Knox Hill Certified Fan at that momeeent 😍😍😍

Someone finally said it , exactly

You should check out the album and also 'an unhelpful guide to Blackpink"
