One of the biggest downsides of the tatarin is it's terrible in rock crawling. Just stick to the mud and avoid Rocks if you don't want to make the game a nightmare for yourself. Also suspensions and tires can get a lot damage at once so you should be careful when you driving; such as not hitting the guard rails and not driving at full pace in sharp or bumpy terrains.
@@stffnhs I’ve had some disastrous drives with it, feeling all invincible and then slipping on to a rock, that beached it! That’s why I have two, in reserve.. 😅
Since it's so hard to get the Yar 87 back on its wheels I took the "just don't tip" advice to heart and I am running the advanced winch on it. It's pretty stable and having a stronger winch saved my ass from having to get another vehicle to rescue me from a mud pile.
I use the Yar87 as a scout, to complete simple missions and make fast refuel/repair a truck .very fun to drive although you need to be alert on tipping over since is not easy to put i back on its feet . The Tataring is a god of mud ( i think is based on Russian BTR-60 or BTR-80 ) amazing for rescues in hard russian maps. You can tow trucks or trailers in deep mud . Tatarin saved me from insanity in Imandra.
The balloon tires help the YAR a lot with stability, but if it ever tips over they become it's biggest downside. On somewhat flat ground it's basically impossible for the tires to dig in and flip the YAR back up right. For that reason I stopped using autonomous winch + balloon tires on YAR.
The one stop shop for snowrunner vehicle reviews, really enjoy the style of content you produce! I loved the mud and snow ability of the YAR 87, it was far superior to the loadstar in that respect, but the turning circle drove me a little crazy. I kept finding myself doing 3 point turns way too often 😅.
Nice review. Out of despair I once tried to use the Tatarin to rescue (brute force winching) a sunken Azov 73210. This was in Uska River, the Azov was sunken in the freeznig water (to the point you shouldn't try to start its engine do to water damage), while the tatarin was up on the ice shore. I burnt the whole fuel tank on the Tatarin, but to my surprise I was able to get the Azov back to the shore with minor damage (this was after several minutes of trying different positions to get better grip on the ice with the Tatarin). The Tuz 420 is really a BEAST with all Capital letters.
With the engine in the rear of the Tatarin, you can fly off cliffs and nosedive and come out fine. Except for the times when the game's physics does silly things and leaves your Tatarin doing a handstand and you gotta do some winching to pull your back end back down.
Great video! Tatarin is without doubt the stronger scout, so much that I rather use it as a rescue vehicle more that the actual scouting. 1st due to the somehow limited range (not bad, but nowhere near the best ranges) 2nd due to the fact that it can actually pull bigger trucks with ease and 3rd because it diminish the challenge of the game and the usage of other scouts! Besides the Tatarin I found the Yar the second best and one of my favorite scouts to use, not only because of those balloon mud tires, but also the insane range that you get with the proper setup!! When using the freeway gearbox (my rule of thumb for all permanent diff-lock vehicles), it reaches the 1L- 0.9 L/min of consumption when on High gear, pair that with the roof rack, it can actually traverse a whole map by itself!
I also use freeway and highrange gearboxes pretty much for every vehicle with permanent difflock or no difflock. But when it comes to trucks, it depends on the task they are doing. For example, I'd never set a highrange gearbox to a truck carrying logs.
I love the Tatarin so much! I use it as my number one rescue truck. As a scout, it can pull the heaviest truck in the game! I find that it doesn't need the autonomous winch. It almost impossible to rollover. And it can't tow anything. So I put the one that has the biggest range on it.
You can actually complete more missions then you think with the Tatarin. There are various missions where you need to get a vehicle, a fuel trailer, a curtainside trailer, etc and simply drag it from Point A to Point B, and upon reaching Point B the mission auto completes. You can do all those with the Tatarin. Now lets say a mission has a ramped trailer full of packed cargo, a Tatarin can't do those. You can probably haul the trailer to the location if you are super ultra careful not to tip it, but because it can't attach it can't unload the cargo, thus can't complete the mission. But curtainside trailers, fuel trailers, all these missions that just auto-completes as soon as said object is pulled into into the Point B yellow square. The Tatarin can do all these. I mean in theory so can the Apache and Hercules as well but I mean, who's gonna try drag a fuel canister via winch with a Apache, like for real. lol. Thus why I only brought up the Tatarin as that's really the only practical one in doing this.
I think the Apache is still the only vehicle in game that can't break through ice - or did that change? That's actually a feature I'd like to see that on dead-axle trucks with the axle down.
Also, you should've mentioned that Yar 87 unlocks at level 10, Tatarin is found for free (twice, one is for a task) and both American 6x6 are paid DLCs.
Ya those are things I actually chose to leave out. I feel by now people skip around so much that practically no one really cares about those things based on viewing analytics
Also one the downsides of the yar 87 is the front axle that is making the vehicle steer is placed at the front of the vehicle. Making it hard to steer in Rocky ares. It's also one of the reasons why it becomes tippy sometimes. Anyway it's an ATV vehicle. You can't expect a certain profession about it. I think the new Hercules and Ford F750 are best options for rocky areas. Yes they can get stuck like bus(specially F750) but in my opinion They are the best rock crawlers.
Hey. Thanks for the review. What I really want to change in your videos is that when you show a list of comparable values (tank sizes, engine torque, etc) it's very hard to read them all in a short period of time when they appear on the screen... please, make the value of the vehicle you are currently talking about to stand out from the list by making it red or in other contrast color.
You’re welcome! I do that so it is on screen but not for too long. This allows people to pause and see the values or if they really don’t care, it doesn’t stay on screen.
This is the only raison I didn't buy the Apache : no trailer... A shame. Because it seems to be very efficient, and also it's very cool looking. As much I really love Snowrunner, many times I really don't understand Saber choices about their game. Same with the Revzani (Also I don't like too much Luxury things in Snorunner ☺). The Yar is my fav in this category. But funny thing is, I recently tried the Khan Lo4f... And now I scout essentiel with this funny little box on wheels.. Combi WW feeling maybe, but Off Road Combi :D
Well giving every truck the ability to do everything wouldn't be a good idea in my opinion. It is frustrating, but I felt they did it to balance the vehicle and not make it completely replace the smaller scouts
@@NProvince Good point. One of the best things in the game is using different trucks for different jobs and maps. However with this huge downside and it also beeing a paid dlc I'm gonna pass on this one for now.
I dont think the Apache has "60,000 torque" respectfully. I still love your videos my man. Unless you are using metric system. You didnt make that clear or perhaps i missed it. Are you using newton/cm or feet/pound for your torque values?

A lot of vehicles can't. In fact, only a few can - such as Yar due to having those sick balloon tires.
