The scene in House where this song came on was powerful. It has even more meaning to me recently. Experiencing two deaths of close friends a couple months apart puts life in to perspective. I cherish my family and friends more than ever now, which has been great.

Been listening to this song for more than two years (thanks to HOUSE), but I'm only getting how this song is about mourning and grief for a friend's or a loved one's death, and how the singer narrates his struggles of coping and wanting to commit suicide. He never pushes through because no one else will remember that person the way he does.

The lyrics are phenomenal. Listen to the one that says "I can see the pines are dancing" imagining it's Sisyphus speaking. It's mind blowing. Every love one you lose, it's a stone rolling down the mountain. Or as E E Cummings said it's always yourself you find in the sea.
I'm so glad I finally found this! My dream is to one day learn this song and do a cover version of it, or sing it to myself whenever I'm going through hard times. It makes me want to cry my eyes out in the best way possible.
