The Nord Stream ws probably an act of self harm as is all the pipe line explosions within Russia to frighten the Russian people, so what are examples of hybrid warfare that are to frighten the west, the obvious one is the use of nukes but what else has Russia done.?

@@plasticjock1090 I wouldn't say that nukes are hybrid. It's more about combining military and non-military means to achieve military results. And to do it below the threshold of actual war.
Here is an example from before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, where I look at Belarus' use of refugees as a weapon against Poland and Lithuania.

Yes we have ignored it. And I've had my nose rubbed in it.
Ex-customer of my company used to be broke to the point that he was on benefits in 2013. I know this since he had to hand over his full financial records as part of a government background check.
He made news headlines in 2014 when he campaigned against the Association Treaty with Ukraine, specifically using toiletpaper rolls with slogans on it. He collaborated with the pro-Russian gossipblogger and alround POS human being Jan Roos.
Now since 2013 he has acquired real estate totaling 38 properties and is making a comfortable living ruthlessly exploiting tenants.
My jobs was to clean that up and make it according to regulations, something he kept going back on. Not an easy enforcement.
Then after the 2022 'official invasion' he's back to Russian campaigning and came to our office to talk about what we could do 'about government corruption' (destabilisation through undermining trust in the democratic government).
By then I was aware of his pro-Russian involvement. I volunteered back in early march, but Ukrainians rejected my application, so that's where I stand. Let's just say things got a bit heated, police attended and he's now very squarely an ex-customer, his records were handed over to the intelligence agencies as I can't abide traitors.
Not they're going to do a damn thing about Russia's infiltration, but at least they have records to prove you can make millions being a Russian infiltrator.

it depends which information you get and in which countries you follow the news, facts are that if you remember the Russians cut the gas to EU countries, one by one, to blackmail us into not helping Ukraine, this was predictable, because if you remember Ukraine's color revolution in 2004, the first thing the Russians did was cutting the gas to Ukraine and make people freeze for not voting for the pro Russian candidate , this is why in all contracts the other countries have signed since, there was a clause that the Russians have to pay a huge compensation if they would cut the gas out of spite over some political event, this is why they played a stupid game with the turbines first, remember? broken down, repair, delay, wrong export paperwork, and so on, when this was exhausted the Russians blew up the pipeline, for 2 reasons, first to escape the compensation payments and second to test NATO's article 5 reaction, as the pipeline is located in NATO territory, and to not give Putin the pleasure of a NATO reaction, we are pretending we don't know who did it, we need to investigate, and to Putin's despair the story disappeared from official news outlets🤡which has let to endless screaming from the Russian side, every week they accuse somebody else, first it was the US, then the UK and now they switched back to the US, the Russians are desperately trying to keep the story in the news, with little success, of course this story has not been explained widely and has left many people confused, by the way, the same happened with the missile that landed in Poland and killed 2 people, the closest to the truth in mainstream news is Polish State tv in English, if you want to check-TVP world

It's a good thing he announced his stance on Nord Stream in the beginning. The rest of the video one may then ponder whether he actually believe what he's saying or if he's simply a shill doing what he's paid to do. Considering the nature of his squirming I suppose there's actually a fair chance he is a believer.
I don't know whether Seymour Hersh got it right or might have been fed a false narrative in order to force a later contraction and so tarnish the idea of US involvement in the sabotage of Nord Stream. Hersh does have a track record though suggesting he knows what he's doing and I would lean towards the former but in the end it does not change anything on the ground. The idea that Russia would have sabotaged Nord Stream is simply nonsensical in any case.
The reason western governments might not acknowledge hybrid attacks is presumably that they fear a public backlash and would rather lie to their citizens than allow them to make informed decisions. The average man does not really fancy having to worry about being poisoned or blown up on his way to work simply because of the actions undertaken by his government in Ukraine or Russia. Suppose there was indeed a Russian hybrid attack resulting in a fair amount of casualties. Perhaps the population would be outraged and demand revenge. Or perhaps the population would demand a withdrawal from Ukraine. Either way the style of the Government would be cramped as they'd be under pressure to escalate or retreat. Governments do not really like that. They'd rather be free to pursue whatever unfortunate policy they've decided on and preferably with the least possible amount of criticism or accountability. For a government to congratulate themselves on absolutely doing the right thing which surely must be successful while telling themselves the citizens must not know anything however as it might interfere with this glorious victory parade would be completely in character.
It's curious to see how such an arguably distasteful and undemocratic approach to government is not only acknowledged but also basically endorsed by this man. It suggests a pro-establishment perspective through and through.

When the idea of Russia being driven out of Ukraine by the Ukrainians seemed far fetched it was fine for him to backhandedly scoff at the Kremlin' daring to chose a nuclear option. But that Russia loses conventionally seems a real possibility now, and nuclear weapons may well have utility for the Kremlin in rapidly developing losing endgame for them. Anders is trying to have it both ways with his talk of uncertainty and fear being part of a Russian psychological stratagem. There are some things, such as what the Kremlin would do with its theatre thermonuclear weapons in such an increasingly likely losing endgame for them, that have uncertain yet nonetheless credible outcomes it is wise to fear.

    • @dougcoombes8497

I don't remember Mr. Nielsen scoffing at anything. He presents the facts as he sees them in as objective terms as he can based on his extensive knowledge and experience in this area. I think he is one of the most rational voices in this entire crisis.
As for a Russian loss in Ukraine heightening the possibilities of Russia using nuclear weapons, what would a Russian victory do there. All indications are this is about far more than Russian ambitions in Ukraine. This extends to Central Europe and beyond. Into nations that are part of NATO like the Baltic States and Poland. A Russian victory in Ukraine could make a direct conflict between Russia and NATO more likely.
Mr. Nielsen isn't trying to "have it both ways" any analysis of something as uncertain as a conflict this complex is going to have significant error factors. He's saying he doesn't know what is going to happen then giving his best assessment of what might happen.
Also the ramifications of Russia using ANY WMDs in Ukraine are global not local. Russia would be locking itself out of economic and diplomatic relationships that would leave it even more isolated than North Korea. The long term consequences to Russia of using WMDs in Ukraine would be worse than a conventional loss there.
So yes, Russia is almost certainly using the threat of nuclear weapons as a form of hybrid warfare that it is in our best interests in the west to ignore as we continue to support the nation of Ukraine in its defense.
And given the questionable reliability of many Russian weapons systems we've seen in this war including a large number of catastrophic missiles malfunctions, would Russian commanders even be willing to deploy nuclear systems for fear of hitting Russian populations.
That has been a major downside in this war for Russia, most speculation of how well designed and maintained Russian weapons systems are over. And the answer is not well.

@@seancidy6008 Doug Coombes answered you in great detail. Only one thing I like to ad, China. China is currently the country benefitting the most from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty system currently in place. As the NPT keeps Chinas very capable adversaries from getting nukes themselves, Countries like Taiwan,South Korea and Japan have the capability to develop nuclear weapons and their delivery systems in short order without external input.
That means that if Russia uses the Bomb in Ukraine and gets away with it, it wouldnt only kill Ukranians but also the current and all future attempts at a NPT. So in short Nothing will be holding Chinas neighbours back from developing nuclear weapons, wich will end Chinas ambitions on its neighbours. China knows this and much points to Russia being informed by China on this fact.
A Russian Nuclear use in Ukraine results in for China:
*A need to punish Russia to the extreme, severing all ecconomic ties is probably not enough. Look for direct destabilisation wich might be followed by military interventions,or:
China must accept its status in the world as only a regional power on par with Brazil.
Faced with the latter choice i belive the Chinese leadership would throw Putin under the bus without hesitation, Nuclear Non profliferation in Chinas own back yard is imensely more important to Bejing.

The content is special, and I like the way Anders presents it. He pays attention to nuances and subtleties when they are important, and takes care to convey how probable the things he talks about are. He also doesn't seem self-important at all, which probably means that he has no trouble of admitting having been wrong, if and when that happens. In short: top content. What I find interesting is that the US is pretty much in full control over the information space globally, and the talk of Russian capabilities over this issue seem almost bizarre to me. So it leaves me wondering is all of this highlighting and exaggerating of Russian capabilities to influence the information space a tactic of the US hybrid control over especially on the European opinion. It seems to me to be utterly naive to think that the US wouldn't be doing this.
Regarding the Nordstream, I would not be surprised if the US did it, but the fact that I would even ponder that, makes me a crazy conspiracy theorist of "oh you are one of those ones huh? Maybe less Russian propaganda for you" kind. I would argue that of course Russia would try to influence opinions, but they are piss poor at it, and other countries try to do the same, especially in the west, and they are very good at information control, and no one is even allowed to mention this. Just shows to me how good this "mind control" is, if you can call it that. Anyway I don't know, but I question what I'm being led to believe.

Covert operation by US special forces, could easily do something like this, with little to no evidence, and could be blamed on Russia. All I said that you aren't even allowed to discuss the possibility, because in my view, the US controls the information in the western world so strong, that you are immediately attacked for even questioning. It might as well be the Russians, but the US is equally possibly being the culprit. They said openly that the pipe would be closed permanently, if an attack would happen, and they have lied about so many things, including the whole war in Iraq in 2003. Russia owns most of the pipe and has most to loose after Germany, if it went offline. Russia is an evil mafia country, no one is denying that. It's just that it isn't a black and white world.
