What an awesome young woman. If my girls (6 and 9) grow up to be half as brave and resourceful as you, I'll be an even prouder and happy Dad. Great filming and editing too. Keep up the good work.

      @@agatho00 Very good idea.
Even if needed or not. But you have it, if you need it.
In Canada there also many wild bears.
So they have bear spray with it, if out in the nature.

VRWarehouse its 4 stone, which isnt that heavy. The trick is to get the weight on your hips, (good bags do this) not on your shoulders or lower back.

Beautiful forest, natural silence, the crackle of wood and the warmth of the fire, camping food it is always beautiful, what else do you need for happiness? Videos like yours are very motivating to take a backpack off the shelf and go wandering through the forest trails. And I am one of those people who became involved in tourism after watching a video on RUclips. And you continue to draw me into this hobby more and more..... Thank you for the pleasant atmosphere.

Nice video and great outing! I don't know if you changed anything to your gear, but as someone who has done a lot of backpacking. Yes, weight helps, but the biggest factor is volume. Also, lightweight is great, but gear that fails 60km from the trailhead in a hike is not great.
If I can suggest somethings... The NeoAir Venture is now the one I use for at least 2 years. Great in summer, and unlike the other NeoAir pads, not crinkly and also bombproof with no leaking. I would suggest a lower volume sleeping bad and a one person tent.
Alcohol stoves are great and reliable, or any good reliable stove. You could use a smaller stove and carry alcohol separately. Canister stoves are good if the weather is hot, but poor in cool weather aside from 4 season ones. Liquid fuel stoves are useful also, but heavier, but reliable in all weather. You have to be careful though - I had issues with the threading failing on my Pocket Rocket 2 in mid trip with no backups or an Optimus white gas stove where the bottle cap failed for the fuel tank. Not fun. I would suggest a titanium pot - they are indestructible and much lighter and of all expenses definitely worth it. I have tried many but the MSR Titan Kettle is so far my favorite.
But the big thing is volume and packability. For me, reducing everything to a 55L pack for extended trip from 75L made as much difference as the weight since it is more centered on the back and you have better centre of gravity in rough terrain.

Appriciate Becky speaking slowly, for english is not my first language.
    Besides, deep thinkers, speak slowly.
It is obvious she is genuine and honest, she didnt rehearse what she is about to say. Authentic and real.
Like her choice of gear, but i dont understand her choice of food.
Perhaps she is on a diet.
I hope she is safe. She is all alone, on a long trek. Wish she would hike with someone, or at least a strong breed dog.

Hi there. Stumbled upon your Chanel. I’m an ex soldier who now lives in Surrey (epsom) this is not where I was born, and due to suffering with PTSD I have not ventured out much. So I really don’t know the area. I’m much better these days, and love the outdoors (as you can imagine lol) anyways..... the Surrey hills, this is where you went out too. Do you need permission to camp out the night there? Or is there a specific area that you went to? Also due to injury I can’t carry a load on my back, very far, so that said, is it possible to walk less then a mile to an area? Hoping you see this and reply. Great film by the way. 👍🏼

    • @GirlOutdoors
      @GirlOutdoors  5 лет назад +1

Hiya, ah wow you are pretty local then! Sorry to hear your suffering with PTSD. Erm you can either stay in a campsite which are scattered around, get permission off land owner or stealth camp and hope you don't get seen aha. Yes there is places where you can park and walk less than a mile to places, maybe around rannmore, leith hill? Thank you and take care - hope this helps...

I like your thoughts on kit, I plan to use a twig burner next time for me so you don't even need the alcohol. personally i do like the old military ground sheet capes as my luxury extra. Another thing I sometimes do if I have an open fire, is look for a large flat stone, set the fire next to the stone and actually place my pots on the stone to cook, the conducted heat makes for very fast cooking and pots stay a lot cleaner. Too often people are showing off their cooking on these videos, but much better to take anything that can be eaten cold, make life easy not hard. Why live like a caveman when there are excellent packets about.
