One time when I was walking in a market in Vietnam, a drunk British guy grabbed me by the shirt collar and demanded that I try a dessert he just bought/was eating. He was right! The dessert was extremely delicious and I bought it for myself twice within the next 24 hours. Now I am that guy, (digitally) shaking YOUR shirt collars to demand you make this dessert. Sticky Apple Pudding Cake is the the best, warming, comforting winter treat. DO IT! And be a hero to all of your friends and loved ones.
Congrats on the new writing credit (on your IMDB, right??) and excited to see you back in the kitchen. As for this, it looks like a great alternative to a seasonal fruitcake with candied peel and such (for me, at least): hits the beats I want it to but without the candied peel, which I think I should like but just can't with. And with apple and spices, no less~~ All the best flavors of autumn and winter.
Seeing you post a new video today made my day! I thought you were going to stop making videos until you replied to me on Frank's video 😭😭 Is this just a family recipe or is this something Nova Scotians eat?
I'm not totally sure! I think it must be from Cape Breton but I never hear about it from anyone else. Sorry I've been MIA, I've been editing a separate little series of videos I think (hope) you'll just love that'll come out in the next couple months!! and in the meantime there'll be a couple more videos here soon-ish
Great question! I think they'd be just great! To be honest, I've used many apples and while they shift the flavor slightly, no apple has been bad - I'd avoid anything too mealy (like Macintosh), and I prefer something more tart just as a matter of personal taste, but a honey crisp would be perfectly delicious!

Nice Video Emily! We all aspire to live that Fresh Nutmeg Life.
so true tbh
That’s a clever spin on classic sticky toffee pudding. Can’t wait to try the recipe out
It's one of my all-time faves!
I like the vibe of this cake
it told me it likes the cut of your jib too
It is always a delight to see a new No Expert episode in my feed, especially while under the influence of, shall we say, Christmas cheer.
😂🥂
Oh this is really nice; the apples seem like they'd lighten up the delightful but cloying nature of a traditional sticky toffee pudding.
It really is the perfect balance!
love a good sticky pudding cake, this reminds me of a modified sticky toffee pudding
that's definitely the right vibe! very tasty
Looks delicious!
thanks!! tastes good too 😋😂
@@EmilyDuncan ❤Will definitely be trying it!

Thanks so much! Have been trying to keep a lot of balls in the air this year 😂
And yes! I'd make this over fruitcake every day of the week
Hi Emily - Looks yummy!
Thanks Farron! I'll have to make this for you at some point ❤️

Every recipe needs a "move the goo"' step :-) :-) :-)
😂😂😂 i'm basically a poet
"Chief Executive Intern Dan Roboff" made me laugh.
hahah excellent
My dad would love this - but no cream. Maybe a bit of custard.
that sounds darn good too!
Would a honeycrisp apple have been too sweet?

Now, you're not going to get disinherited for telling us this recipe are you?
Hahah that did cross my mind as a concern but so far so good 😂
